  1. Why do I get the impression he played once and discovered the reality of playing isn't like the edited YouTube videos he watched? Overpriced two-tone AEG with accessories up for sale too. "Only been used once" but it's awash with scuffs and scratches.
  2. "only been used once" Is there a reason for the lack of a full photo of the gun itself? Is the gun being sold with or without the muzzle loudener?
  3. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/win-this-cyma-grenade-launcher-for-1_i60313 He's back again. Bad sport! He's not even telling us how many entries there are so we can't estimate a margin, assuming that there actually is a prize draw. I bet he'd have to sell at least 40 or 50 tickets to be able to turn a profit.
  4. Very sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts are with you and the family in such a difficult time and please accept my condolences.
  5. I remember this from back in the day. If it still works, £50 is probably the most you'd see. Am I right in remembering this being NBB?
  6. Not saying your estimate is wrong but which model is that price based on? Are there more photos of the gun, particularly if there are any scuffs, scratches, etc, as well as the box to identify the model name/SKU? "Not used much maybe 10-15 times" will be taken with a pinch of salt by a lot of prospective buyers. It's not to accuse you of lying or being rough, it's just not a reliable metric.
  7. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/30784-win-this-we-glock-18-for-ps20 https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/win-this-we-glock-18-for-20_i60184 No, definitely not a scam. If he's selling 14 tickets in total, he's making twice retail price on that Glock.
  8. I'm quite partial to the Hi-Capa, coming in several different barrel lengths (from 3.8" to 7") TM's versions are expectedly great out of the box though you may not like plastic slides in which case WE's haven't let me down. Especially with TM, there's a big aftermarket for performance upgrades and cosmetic customisations.
  9. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/mystery-box-brand-new_i60171 £200 mystery box - M4 or sidearm but no springers apparently Bulldog or HFC special?
  10. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/30753-src-electric-ak Seller wants 80% of retail value for a two-tone.
  11. I went there for the boot sale at the end of January but not to play though I got a similarly good impression of the organisation from the signage and the tannoy announcements so I will go there to play at some point. It sucks that they don't allow players to bring their own food and drinks. I thought that captive market mentality was left in cinemas.
  12. "Just because you can, it doesn't mean you should" springs to mind. Given that AI content is in its infancy and that it has been used to misrepresent companies, their products and services, it's not unreasonable for people to raise suspicions. As you claim to be a B2B dealer, you should surely be aware that trust and a good reputation are hard to build but easy to lose. Telling people to "calm down" when bad actors are a reality (not saying or implying you are one) isn't conducive to building that good reputation.
  13. Whether it's a joke or not, the comparison to Nazi Germany is insulting to those persecuted there for simply existing. As already said, halls of residence inspections and monitoring internet usage aren't exactly a novelty. Universities have reputations to uphold and especially in this age where Britain is becoming more like its ally from across the Atlantic with its litigous tendencies, they have to be vigilant to avoid being held liable and thus give grounds to be sued. To that point about being sued, universities have something called public liabilty insurance to protect or mitigate themselves from injury to people or damage to property within the confines of the university. As the halls of residence are the responsibility of the university and that it has a duty of care with internet usage, it doesn't take an overactive imagination to guess that many public liability insurance policies for a university are contingent on them not allowing weapons or replicas in the halls of residence and that they have safeguards and "counselling" policies in place over web usage. University culture isn't "absolutely mad" in that respect. It reflects the society we live in today where you have to be especially careful to keep your arse covered.
  14. I went to the new shop this month and I'm definitely impressed with the soft launch. It's several times the floor space of the old shop floor. They're due to complete the indoor 10m range but everything looks promising so far. Like a lot of industrial estates, parking was a challenge at the old location but there's plenty at the new site. I'm usually very happy with freebies and I got a complementary patch with my purchase.
  15. Welcome to the money pit! Don't worry about not having a social group to play with. You can make good acquaintances, if not new friends, through airsoft. I went to the majority of my games without people I met outside of airsoft. As Shamal said, having suitable eyepro is an absolute must. You can get very afforable eye protection that's suitable for airsoft, just don't be tempted by the cheapest thing you find on eBay that doesn't come from a known brand such as Bolle. In addition to boots with good ankle support, good gloves are a worthwhile investment - being shot in the knuckles with thin or no gloves can be much more painful (not long lasting though) than you might expect. Rental might seem expensive to start but think of it as an investment in the hobby. If the worst should happen and you decide airsoft isn't for you, rental will likely be a smaller loss than you would experience buying a two-tone, only to find you find yourself struggling to resell it for even close to what you paid.
  16. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/27717-gbb-hicapa-pistol Relisted with prices from £90-£100 with the condition being "Only some minor scratches" but doesn't disclose that the gun is missing the fibre optic rods on its front and rear sights. Peace of mind, brand new for £95 https://www.highpressureairsoft.co.uk/raven-hi-capa-51# https://www.eliteairsoft.uk/products/raven-hi-capa-5-1-black
  17. Isn't it a bit late for Easter holiday antics?
  18. That's what I can't get my head around. I'm not saying it doesn't exist but I haven't seen quantitative analysis of how spending 3. 4 or even 5 times the value of the base gun on parts gives a significant gain in performance. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/30554-gas-1911 I hope that in paying more than 1.5 times retail value of a JBBG special, the seller throws in some magic beans or whatever illegal substance he was on. https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/hg121-airsoft-gas-pistol/
  19. I play 1 to 3 times a month. Teams are nice to have and play with together but they're not essential. Depending on the games you play, teamwork is required if completing objectives is your thing such as securing areas, retrieving items, recovering VIPs, etc. For the most part, teamwork with strangers can work out really well in my experience.
  20. That is definitely part of the appeal of the G36 platform to me, especially the G36C. That aesthetic gave it a certain distinction in my eyes.
  21. Anyone can sue on any grounds but the question is whether there's a case. The fact that the site you play at has games specially for ND players and that there is a precedent of such players playing among NT players on normal game days would be a compelling argument that the banned player was banned because of their actions, not their condition.
  22. As said, if the player's behaviour was aggressive or dangerous, that is more than adequate grounds to them being banned. Being ND/disabled would be completely incidental so no discrimination is at play. Any self-respecting site will say safety comes first and if anyone, be they ND, NT, disabled or "able-bodied", behaves in a manner deemed dangerous or otherwise against the site's rules, that's on them to deal with the consequences. On a somewhat related note, someone posted a negative review of a site saying its staff were unwelcoming and that his experience fell short of expectations. It was vaguely written without specific examples of what he didn't like. It transpired that he wrote it out of spite because he was asked to leave for ignoring multiple safety warnings. I think he was Romanian but I very much doubt that it even crossed the minds of the staff who asked him to leave.
  23. As others said, rental is very much recommended to start until you get a UKARA number. You might be tempted to buy from the start but without a UKARA number or other defence to buy a realistic looking airsoft gun, your options will be limited to a two-tone gun and that will very likely resell for much less than a RIF. If you try airsoft and decide it's not for you - the chances are that you'd sink less money on rentals than you would lose trying to resell a two-tone gun. Depending on the site, a lot of players only use a rifle and don't use a sidearm (pistol or SMG) unless it's required e.g. snipers and dedicated marksmen are often recommended to have a sidearm to take on opponents within the minimum engagement distance for sniper rifles/DMRs. I'd recommend buy decent boots with good ankle support. They won't necessarily prevent you from suffering foot/ankle/lower leg injury but they can lessen the injury if it happens. Good eye protection is also non-negotiable for obvious reasons. That's not to say you need to spend silly money on it from the start as there are plenty of low-cost options suitable for airsoft from the likes of Bolle for example. Lots of sites have their own or a retailer partner shop so you can have a feel of the guns there and find if there's a particular platform you can see yourself investing in heavily. That's not to say you can't peruse around at a bricks and mortar airsoft retailer! As for locations in/around London, you can check the website below for options. https://playairsoft.uk/locations/greater-london As Rogerborg said, don't worry about going on your tod. You'll find no shortage of people to talk to in most games. Plenty of regulars are in the same boat.
