What does everyone really think of kickingmustang
Galvatron replied to Mk46 Mod0's topic in General Discussion
So what's your stance on Rolf Harris? He was a fantastic TV presenter and artist even if he was eccentric. He was more artistically gifted than I am. I'm sure his indiscretions warrant a different viewpoint too. -
It should have a quick-change spring system so it should be easy to swap it without opening your gearbox but what is specifically wrong with your SA-H22's spring or your gun's performance that you deem it worth upgrading? Is its energy level so low that it's not competitive?

Have I made a mistake? of buying this weapon?
Galvatron replied to Yashy's topic in General Discussion
It literally depends on your playing style, your invididual preferences and the site rules. For example with the latter, setting a 5-round burst or enabling a binary trigger is pointless at a site where single-shot only is permitted. -
That's why I criticised the security. The security at Birmingham ComicCon were oblivious to everything except swords compared to those at London ComicCon who actually did check for prohibited items.
-
It says as much about ComicCon's piss-poor security in a (paid) public event as the people doing it but there were cosplayers yesterday at the NEC in open carry with airsoft guns. One numpty in one of the foyers (open to everyone without paying) had an MP7 openly hanging from his chest and past the "paywall" was a bloke dressed up as an NPC soldier from Metal Gear Solid with a FAMAS. He openly said he bought it in two-tone and sprayed it black but left an orange tip on the muzzle. 🤦♂️ I noticed at least a couple other cosplayers with M4s and another with an MP5K. Predictably, responsible players would be blamed for the actions of idiots who don't play airsoft or that minority of players who have some sort of death wish.
-
Classic example of buyer's remorse and wanting to cut his losses. I hope he's paying VAT at those prices.

Available for a ton (at the moment) + delivery. Price cut, an outburst with accusations of sabotage or silent rage?

Welcome! I have to add my voice to the choir about having good boots or footwear with decent ankle support. They may not necessarily prevent you from an ankle injury but they can lessen it from something more serious. For indoor sites, it may be worth getting a torch, ideally one you can mount on the rifle, depending on the lighting conditions. As you're from Herts, there is a new, indoor (mostly) site run by RIFT Airsoft called the Battery just within the Essex side of the Herts/Essex border so it may be closer to you than Bunker51 though it's not as accessible. They do require a parent or responsible adult for you to play alongside you as you're under 18.

I have scar tissue on an MCL tear I sustained from a knee dislocation in my teens. I had dislocated it twice again since the first but it didn't worsen the damage or cause newer lasting injuries. Thankfully a compression brace lets me run without worrying about it too much.

https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/26409-3-in-1-deal-brand-new-m4 You could actually get a reasonable deal here, assuming the Specna Arms RIF really is new, but the seller's ego seemed to get the better of him as he poses holding the gun like he's on Call of Duty in most of the photos instead of focusing on the damn guns and didn't take a single clean shot of the used M4's profile, nor did he bother to specify the brand & model of the used M4 or whether its internals had been modded since was last tagged at a site. I see no photos of the handgun, any description of what brand & model it is or its condition either. I need to sit down before I have a stronk.

It depends on whether you want to understand the mechanisms of bolt-action spring, AEG, HPA or gas/CO2. The components differ depending on the platform. Even within AEG for example, the components can differ somewhat as my P90's trigger mechanism is quite different from that of my M4 though the gearboxes bear a resemblance though they're different types. The "best" way to learn is dependent on the individual but have you looked on YouTube for example for maintenance or disassembly videos?

This is a different kind of dreamer. I always thought this minigun was nicknamed after the Roman god of fire but whoever put up the listing clearly had something else on their mind. Even the URL shows they're thinking of it a lot. 🤣 https://www.zerooneairsoft.com/products/Classic-Army-AEG-M133-Mini-Vulvan

https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/jing-gong-auga3-w-couple-attachments_i54116 Micro red dot has a scratch on it "but even though it's a premium listing, you have to message me for more pictures to find out of it's a scratch you'd see a tiny diamond make on glass or if it's what Monty Python's Black Knight says 'tis but a scratch"
-
For me, saying it's "only" been used once or twice for before will always be measured against my friend I skirmished with 20 years ago - he could have described his M4 as only having been skirmished twice, which was technically true but he broke the stock the second time he fielded it.

https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/26195-cyma-518-m4 £170 for a Cyma 518 (w/ hi-cap mag in the box) with a mid-cap STANAG mag and a 4x32 scope. You can get the same combination for £10-20 extra, brand new with a warranty.

Scumbags like DE09 are why I'm wary of sellers without feedback. Even if there were flaws in his Photoshopping, it's a shame that he would invest that much effort and time in something dishonest when he could do something positive with his skills.

That's why I was sarcastic about it being a bargain. Seeing that its safe mode is useless, I couldn't see anyone paying £65 to take a risk on a RIF that marshals wouldn't allow even in a safe zone if they caught wind of that problem. Like you said, it should be a lot cheaper because a potential buyer is taking on the risk of repairing it (probably just cheaper to replace). It's as if the seller hasn't heard of big companies being bought for peanuts because the buyer takes on the risks and liabilities.
-
Our man has relisted the boneyard MP5K for a "bargain" of £65.

I like to think you know that not all impacts are equal, nor are hours/days of exposure to sunlight so giving an actual figure would be arbitrary. Suffice to say, I have replaced eyepro in the past when I recall sustaining multiple impacts and I didn't feel comfortable with it or when I noticed scratches/loosened bonding. As I'm a lot older now and learned from the mistakes of leaving certain items in the sun, sunlight isn't as big a factor for me as I keep my eyepro under wraps until I need it. I don't assume everybody takes the same care as each other.
-
I couldn't agree more with Cannonfodder. Eyepro isn't something I would buy used to save money. I would rather a field a misfiring RIF than wear used eyepro where I don't know how many direct impacts it had sustained from pellets, if long-term exposure to sunlight had weakened the materials, etc. I would just ask the seller where they got it that mask.
-
"can you give me this for 50 pounds including postage? Not to make profit" That's exactly what a lowballer would say when they intend to resell for a profit, especially when they lowball with such an insulting amount.
-
What an utter idiot. That's the crap the media will use to give proper airsoft players a bad name.

New player from SW England
Galvatron replied to TrenythingIsPossible's topic in New Players & Arrivals
Henlo! I'm sure dressing as militia rather than a soldier will be welcomed by any decent site. -
Growing scarcity of a discontinued product has to be matched by high demand to warrant a higher price. Being "discontinued" was the rationale one fellow previously reported in this thread had used in an attempt to inflate the price of a glorified boneyard item from a failed relationship he seemed very bitter about.
