Bought with the intention of fixing and fielding but i've got other projects demanding my attention. Gearbox needs an overhaul and previous owner managed to cut the black motor wire when taking apart and reassembling so it will require soldering or a new trigger wiring setup. Externally, the rifle is in good condition and has the FN Herstal trademarks. £100 including postage and Paypal fees. ONO.£100

That looks like a Specna Arms SA-E23. If anyone knows i'm talking mad shit, please correct me, but the 'slots' you can see at the 3, 6 and 9 positions are m-lok. There's plenty of attachments that are m-lok. If you can't find m-lok attachments, there are m-lok to RIS rail sections that exist so you can attach just about anything. The top rail is standard 20mm RIS/RAS AFAIK which will accept just about most accessories.

Damn. Hopefully it's only a small batch that are identified to be suffering from this. Can you imagine if all of the RIFs are all prone to this same failure?

What's the likelyhood of it being a small batch of the production effected and they're not all like that? Going to suck if they're all fragile in the same way. I wonder what G&Gs response will be like and if they've ever had something like this happen before.

That's an insane decision to make. I saw a post about this on Reddit that's pretty funny. Can I just drive through this speed camera at 20 now, so I can do 70 later? Honestly, how this got approved and made its way through multiple people before being posted without being flagged as a REALLY bad idea is wild.

I didn't mean disabling the precocking but releasing the tension applied with precocking - or decocking if that's a better term. In the video, he has a caption stating "To prevent the spring getting weaker from too much tension, release the precocking after the game, by shortly shooting the Replica on Full-auto." As an aside, i'd like to see a comparison in length in the short config vs the CQB/Para style AUGs.

The way you have to release pre-cocking is a bit of a hassle if i'm understanding it correctly. If you're in a CQB field, you'll have the full auto disabled so you'd have to re-enable it, fire then disable auto again. The setup is restricted due to the trigger and lack of selector but they've likely got it set up the best way they could. I'm hoping this announcement will spur a few people into listing their AUGs for sale and I can pick a upgraded one up on the cheap.

Looks cool. I do like how the outer barrel is in two pieces so you can have a shorter version if you want - it's a good idea. Will have to keep an eye out for reviews when people get their hands on it.

Been wanting an AUG for a while so this should be interesting. I wonder what the handguard situation is as I don't like the integrated optic or grip that the A1 and A2 (?) come with.

Is it just me or does it look like it's missing a barrel? That camo tape is real subtle too.

Personally, I don't trust glasses enough as eye protection. I'd be constantly worried about a BB sneaking around the side or underneath. For my goggles, I use the Revision anti-fog wipes, which are an absolute must for anyone as they're dirt cheap and last for months, and an ex-fog. I sometimes get some (but minimal) condensation however, zero fogging which a lot of people suffer with. I only re-use the wipes when I see fogging start up again. Usually once every few game-days. Could be something to look into.

I'm using the stock gearbox shell and it has a quick change spring.

My experience was very much the same. I could hear pretty much everything happening around me which is much more beneficial when you're static. I could hear peoples guns firing clear as day making me think they were closer than they really were. I even took them out for a comparison and the difference is crazy. Without them, the 'clarity' of the sound is way better but I could hear way less if that makes sense. Definitely going to be using them pretty much all the time after this.

King Arms LaRue 12" Tactical - Full metal construction and trademarks. Would fix this up myself but i've got other projects that need my attention and I simply don't have the time to get round to fixing this. Reasons for boneyard: Charging handle will not catch and open the dust cover Suspect mock bolt plate missing return spring. Mock bolt plate jumps out of position and jams the receiver together during disassembly which is why i've left it out when putting it back together but I have it. If memory serves, there was nothing done to the RIF unless it had been reversed prior to being sold. I don't think i've got the guys discord anymore either annoyingly so I can't ask. Edit: I do have it and have shot them a message.

@ak2m4 Measured at 480mm. This doesn't mean the person who owned it before me changed anything but why would they go for a shorter brass inner barrel?

Funnily enough, it's a full/non-ported cylinder. I 100% sure of this as I kept all the parts/spares from this build in it's own box so I didn't get them crossed with anything else.

I'll take the current setup and use the stock barrel and see what happens to the FPS. Should give an idea as to whether the barrel is causing significant FPS drops. If this turns out to not be causing large FPS drops, i'll test the airseal afterwards. Sound good?
