I know some stores price match others as long as it isn't on sale and it's in the UK. Asking doesn't hurt, worst they can say is no.

Yeah was shooting at 400fps when I first tested it. The mag was just a spare high cap I had laying around so I pulled the internals out and superglued the pin back in to give some rigidity to the top of the mag. Wiring is still into the mag as it's just the better place for it tbh. If I wanted to make the profile smaller, I could get a short mag and put a peq box size battery in there.

It is. I had to drop the spring down to a M110 to get it inside the limits. No idea what it came stock with. The hop unit is a bit strange, it's like a M4 and P90 hop put together and the inner barrel has a fair bit of movement even when assembled so I pushed an O-ring into the space between the hop unit and the inner barrel to hold it a bit more secure. I had to glue the nub to the hop arm as it kept getting stuck in place when winding the hop off. Gearbox looks to be a standard V2 but without a quick change spring and all the internals appear pretty much standard except the nozzle which is a long brass thing. Really should have measured it. Not sure what's going on with the rails on this - I had to really force the angled grip on and my KAC style rail covers just will not fit at all - it's like the rails are ever so slightly wider than all my other RIFs. The mock charging handle is a bit loose because the spring is about 3-5mm too short so it has some play. I have no idea how to take that apart so it's staying as is for now.

Finally (almost) finished with a rifle i've was after for a while until @ButcherBill sold me his AR57.

Is that the same guy who was trying to flog it for ~£300? So it's actually knackered? I wonder if it was faulty when he had it listed originally.

Rather than take the thread further off topic than it already has been, i'll just drop you a DM.

Magpul PDR-C I think. Had a chance to get hold of one about a year ago and I constantly kick myself that I didn't take up the offer.

North East - the site is Armageddon Airsoft.

Is that your experience of the site? I've been going well over a year now (I think) and it's nowhere near like what you're making out. There are always one or two special people like that who turn up at every site but the overwhelming majority of players are great and the marshalls make a great effort to correct problematic people but it's very rare there are any. The only time i've had a negative experience there was when a certain team of 4-6 people showed up and decided they were allowed to play by different rules than everyone else.

I've seen someone buy one at the site. It was a relatively new guy who had no idea about what's good and what's not so he was talking to regulars. Myself and a few others had been chatting with him and letting him handle the different rifles we had so he could see what he did and didn't like. I'm sure we told him to not buy one of those just because it was immediately available and it had likely been battered but he did anyway ?♂️

Most times I just hang it up outside to air off. If it gets particuarly bad, put some washing gear in a bucket with warm water and give it a couple swirls/dunks. Leave for about 30 mins, rinse in clean water and hang dry.

Not so much about how my airsoft day went, but how preparing for Sunday went. I was picking out a rifle to use with my launcher for the 3D printed projectiles and thought 'hmm, it's been a while since i've used this, I should probably check and re-lube it if needed'. I took the gearbox out to find a few cracks around the piston head. The second I touched it, it came apart. I had a spare G&G V2 gearbox shell but that doesn't fit in the Specna Arms receiver. RIP Specna Arms gearbox - 2 years in my hands and god knows how many in the last owners. ZCI replacement on the way from AK2M4. The work/repair list now consists of: Mk18 - new gearbox shell required KWA KM4A1 - Got it from action hobbies but they failed to mention the gearbox shell was also shagged in this. Will probably use as a donor shell because of Colt trademarks. Ares RDB - piston shredded or sector gear knackered I think AR57 - requires Perun ETU installing after dud one bought from user on here MP5SD6 - needs backdraft HPA unit fitting HPA M4 - firing semi only despite having full auto functionality - was planning on using this tomorrow but now it's giving me issues P90 long barrel - requires ETU installing I've got a lot to be getting on with. Update: As for the actual airsoft day - it went pretty well. I took the L85 to see if i'd solved the issue of the RNG accuracy and I hadn't so I brought out the sniper and that went very well. Using a new optic I can now see where the BBs are landing which made sniping way easier today - when I could see through the summer foliage that is. Armageddon is a very heavily vegetated site which hampers sniping a lot so you have to pick your position well. I got a fair few kills both attacking and defending and one i'm particuarly proud of was when attacking, I managed to shoot through a gap about 3" wide between some tyres to hit a guy hiding in a makeshift bunker. When defending myself and another sniper with a ghillie held down our complete right flank and some of the middle ground 'killing' 10-15 players between us. I like sniping but I HATE the rubber(?) coating on the JG Bar-10 rifle stock. I've cleaned this thing several times and it always ends up sticky and bits start to come off. Will be looking for an aftermarket stock thats just as light or lighter. I like the look of the Maple Leaf MLC stocks, particuarly the S2 but no idea how they compare. Will have to have a look around.

That's better than expected for those little cap-gun caps. Just waiting for the rifling for the inside of the launcher to finish printing and I can test if it 'whistles' through the air - As seen here. Sorry for how big the video is, I can't seem to resize it so I hid it inside a spoiler. FulcrumAirsoft on Cults3D

Very nice. Is that file available online or did you design it yourself? How's the durability? Very cool.

Knocked my boxes of blanks off the shelf and they scattered just about everywhere so I printed a little box to keep them in. Hinges and latches are attached with M3X20mm screws/bolts. The shells can move up and down a bit due to the box being designed for live rounds but they don't fall out of the grid.

It's a long shot but can you find the original advert where you bought it from second hand? It would give people a bit of a better idea of what's actually inside the gun as it appears it's not stock - if they listed all the parts that is. The info would probably help any tech you end up sending it to. Failing that, try getting in touch with the previous owner if at all possible and ask them what parts they changed.

Use this link to go to playairsoft.uk and it'll show a map of the UK and all the sites on it.

You could probably do this yourself. Like Skara said, it's highly likely to be the ETU/MOSFET which is very easy to change. If I remember rightly it's in the PDW stock tube thing, should be a little board (red I think?) and it's got some spade connectors at the end. The ETU++ is £44 from AK2M4. I've had two of these ETUs fail on me - one in a ARP556 and another in L85. Both were fixed by using the Perun ETU++.

Today I visited a new site: Northern Spectres Airsoft situated in the grounds of Sedbury Hall, Scotch Corner. This site has only been open (nearly) a year. This site has one of the best setup safe areas i've seen. Large solidly built coverings with plenty of picnic tables available and space in the middle to move around in. Outdoors electrical sockets if you need to charge anything are also available and a couple of log burners. To the end of the safe zone was a hut looking out onto their small firing range which was also used for chrono. The safe area also has private changing areas, actual toilet facilities with running hot water. The site also offers hot food for a extremely reasonable price. As for chrono, this site does not operate at the standard FPS limits. Most of the FPS limits are slightly higher than the standard but because I am dumb, I forgot to take a picture of the sheet detailing the limits they use for AEGs, DMRs and snipers. The site itself is a pretty standard woodland fare with plenty of man made cover from tyres, wood and drums etc. The site has a few different structures with a small CQB area too. I spoke to the owner and he was showing & telling me about the plans they have for the site plus the ideas they have for a modular CQB space with lots of rooms and corridors than can quickly be changed so it doesn't become stale between visits. The player count today was pretty low, about 10 people attending, which is not normal according to one of the more regular players I spoke to. This meant the games were pretty much 5v5 all day and were kept to small areas to keep the flow of the day going. Several game modes like attack/defend, capture the flag, domination were played plus a game where you had to capture tubes and deposit them in your teams bin - the team with the most tubes wins. I took the Ares RDB out for it's second running ever. It worked fantastically for an hour before crunching the gears/piston. I took the gun apart and cycled it and it looked like it was working fine. I tried to field it again and it began crunching again - this time I retired the gun. I think it may have killed the piston teeth so there's a job for the next few days. I borrowed a G&G CM16 from the guy I went with to get me back into the games but had a lot of luck running with the TM Goldmatch in the CQB area. This site has real potential and if the owner is serious about what he was describing to me, the site could be fantastic. The one thing that needs doing is advertising as they seem to rely on word of mouth a lot. They do have an instagram and facebook but there really aren't many photos or videos of the site or players on there.

The best option would be to take it to a reputable tech near you or find someone trust worthy (and who knows what they're doing) and let them have a run at it. Some, if not most, techs will let you post your gun to them if you don't want to travel. The ARP9 is a good gun, i'd suggest getting it fixed rather than selling it. If you bought it online using paypal G&S, you could try pushing for a refund from the seller as it's not functional and I assume it was advertised as working.

This thing? Also there's a 3D printing thread HERE. If you can find the 3D print file (if it exists), you can ask if one of the people on there would print it for you.

This is why I take videos of RIFs I sell working before they go in their box as I also had one like that too. I sold some guy a working CYMA Mk12 SPR with videos of it cycling plus chrono results. I get a message a week or so later about how it doesn't actually work and he sent a video of him pulling the trigger and the gun just clicking but in the background, the full stock was laid on the table alongside an AEG spring plus a screwdriver. The guy buying it had been talking about putting a bigger spring it to bring it up to his sites DMR limits so I suspect he'd been tinkering, banged in a massive spring and broke something.

How do you know it's fake? What's the giveaway? I was thinking about asking the guy if he'd split from the lot having assumed it's legit so i'll hold off for now - thanks for the save.

G&P MP5 flashlight handguard - only to realise it's not a direct fit on G&G MP5s so I had to do a bit of scuffed DIY. Put it on my current MP5 as the other one is currently in pieces to replace the cocking handle. It looks like it's pitched at an angle in the picture but it's not something I noticed when fitting it. When the other MP5 is back together, i'll have a look at shimming it so it's level but i'm just happy that I managed to get it to fit. @WompRat This may be of interest to you. The problem with the G&P handguard is that it's missing the little 'hook' that latches onto the receiver to stop it being pulled off. You can buy the CYMA triple railed handguard and it also has this little hook piece as seen below: This little piece is just screwed into the bottom of the rail. I took that out and had to dremel a screwhole into the G&P handguard and attach the hook on the inside. It's a bit awkward to measure and I got it wrong the first time so there's an extra hole in the bottom of the handguard now - oops. When you get it right, it hooks right in and is rock solid on the gun. If you need me to measure where the screwhole is, let me know.

Exactly why I wouldn't mind picking one up at some point as i've got plenty of WE M4 mags and they're supposed to be compatible with the L85. Won't be any time soon unless a good deal pops up. Already got a Scar-H with a Kythera in it. I used to have a Scar-L AEG but sold it.
