  1. I did suggest that, but he likes to pull into his shoulder. I'm thinking I might be able to cut the butt plate off and reattach a bit further forward. Hmmm.. I can hear the a team music coming on....??
  2. My boy has bought himself an m89 ump45 from DE and only being little (he's 12 but a small 12) and the stock on his gnu seems a bit too long. Anyone ever shortened a stock? It's the folding type...
  3. Worst: M92F double bell. I so wanted to be mel gibson in lethal weapon. I bought a cheap gun. It is now a wall hanger after randomly dumping gas, firing at around 15fps, jamming and generally being poo. I have enough spare parts to make another one but really cant be bothered. Runner up: MB02 G spec. Meh. dont get sniping. many parts added. bank manager not happy with its performance. Turns out that its really slippery too with the baby poo paint job i did on it. Best: M904G Honey badger..badger badger badger MUSHROOOOOOM. sorry. Love it. its quiet, lobs 0.28's at people in the distance and i've done lots of my learning on it so it has a special place in my collection. Honourable mentions: both my mp5's (SD and A4) just keep going. Hate the fact that you have to strip it to component level to do anything to it but they just keep chugging along....
  4. Saturday.....My game has changed somewhat and i seem to have ended up as a marshal... Saturday is the under 18's game day and is a good laugh. The kids are great. They have that "sod it, lets get stuck in" mentality and other than a few technical issues with RIF's all went well. Took my sons friend from Ukraine who's family are over here avoiding the war (trust me here, i had a real mental debate with myself on the morality of taking him!) but he had an absolute scream and was teaching us ukrainian swearwords in the car on the way home. Boys will be boys... Test hits were all taken and called. I've been shot less on actual game days though...LOL. Wearing a hi viz is great but i had to check mine didnt have a target painted on it...
  5. Kudos to people who have dragged themselves out of the pit of despair. I've had depression and anxiety my whole adult life and unfortunately they both carry the joys of debt creation well. I've been there. I think I was u to £16k in debt at one point. The joy of opening the freshly delivered parcel was greater than the worry of how to pay for it. "Oh, I'll sort that at the end of the month" "I'll do a PayPal pay in three" "Whack it on the card, I'll pay it off" Over the years I've learned that having the latest and greatest doesn't make you the "man". In fact the opposite is actually true. I've had the expensive hobbies (rc cars, rc planes, Italian cars, marine fish, flying lessons, the list goes on) and each one has caused me issues. Airsoft with two boys of airsoft age is the latest. My boys want this, that and the other. So I'm TRYING to get them to work out what they actually NEED rather than what they WANT. I've shown them that a second hand whatnot is cheaper and just as effective if you learn how it works and fix any potential issues. My eldest got hold of my phone yesterday and decided to put an offer in on a drum mag for his AAP. The first I heard of it is reading a message from the seller accepting my offer.....needless to say I've had to apologize and have chewed him a new one. He didn't have the money and the bank of dad wasn't supporting this move. Big tears, big row and a big talking to and we have established that he is stupid for doing it (apologies again if you're reading this) but I don't need him to make the same mistakes as I did. It is a state of mind thing. You want something and the access to be able to buy it is waaaaaay too easy to do. I can go to patrol base now and buy a grands worth of stuff and it'll be here on Monday/Tuesday. In 6 months time when it's paid off plus double for interest and what have you, was it worth £2k? Nope. Depression and spending are inextricably linked. It's a black hole on loop. there's help out there (ironic that you have to pay for it, adding to the problem!!). Amazes me the kit that some people have. I wonder how much it adds up to but if they CAN afford it, good luck to them. Just pause over the "add to cart" or "buy it now" and think: Do I need it? If you're stressed, struggling or in a sand pit with you head buried, TALK TO SOMEONE. it helps. Trust me. I've been in your position. You can turn the light on at the end of the tunnel......
  6. Mine short stroked itself after messing around with some bigger springs. The last tooth of the sector gear came off and I found it in my piston head.... Back up to power again but after I finished laughing I was a bit concerned. Seems ok now though....
  7. Found a young YouTuber called trung the builder and he had a mk23 that he cut down to make it (almost) a USP... So I thought I'd have a go at it ...it's still a prototype at the mo...but you can see how short it is from the shadow board behind it....??
  8. Morning all (hey, its morning somewhere in the world!) My boy has a raven G17. Nice little pew. Skirmished it a fair bit and its been pretty flawless. We stripped it and gave it a funky paint job too. We bought an extended 50 round mag for it and away we went. Blasting all and sundry. However.....he's come back to me saying that the top slide isn't fully reseating and resetting the trigger. You have to physically push it the last 3-4mm and you can hear the thing reset. One, two or three shots later it does it again. I've stripped it, cleaned it,lubed it and then done it again. And again. Swapped to his standard 25 round mag and it seems ok. If i dont push the extended mag home all the way, its fine, which kinda makes me think that the nozzle/frame is catching on the gas router on the extended mag. Ive measured them both out of the maga and theyre IDENTICAL!!! go figure.. My questions are these.... Can i trim the router? how? does anyone know of a similar issue? (the aap01 thread covered it breifly but no real joys) Lube? silicone grease/oil/dry/axle grease? It fits his AAP01 and works flawlessly. which is odd. DADTECH is running out of ideas... LOL.
  9. So.... I may have been bitten by the honey badger... I love mine so much that I've downloaded the handbook from Q in the US to get the colours right when I paint/cerakote it... ? Then, being the daft bugger I am, I emailed Q to ask if u could copy the Q and the "live free or die" logos. Kevin from Q (the owner!) emailed me back with hi res pictures of it and told me if I was ever in the neighbourhood to come over and have a blast with the real 300 blackout... What a gent!!
  10. Welcome to the rabbit hole... Hope you don't like having savings.. ? Lots of great people in here who will help you out. ?
  11. Just to close this out, as I can't stand threads that have no solution posted, I opened up the silencer to find bb shavings... ? So, engineer mode ON... found a bit of 16mm copper pipe, cut it to size to fit snugly in the suppressor, wrapped the barrel with enough tape to centre it and slid the copper over the barrel. Nice and snug. On a side note, sounds really weird now with the diy outer barrel ?? All good now. Thanks guys n gals. Much appreciated. ?
  12. Thanks for the help. The suppressor has a lh thread one end and rh thread the other. I'm using the lh thread and everything seems to line up OK. It's on tight well as tight as it gets with a lh/rh thread thing going on?)
  13. Evening all. Got a bit of an odd thing going on... The DE honey badger that I use has an extended barrel (+70mm) and I'm using a suppressor to protect it. However... When firing recently I've noticed that the bb's are being random. If I remove the silencer they're fine (0.28's).barrel is clean, gun is well maintained. Im thinking that because the barrel stops short inside the suppressor it's doing some odd air "not escaping and crashing around inside the suppressor" sort of thing. I'm right at the top of my fps/j on 0.28's at 292fps so longer barrel is right out. Thinking maybe a tube around the outer of the inner barrel might help.... Any thoughts?
  14. Mate of mine went into paddock waaaaay too fast and ended up with his foot by his head. It true biker style the first words out of his mouth.. "is the bike alright".. ? My dad's had both knees done, 3 months and he's back to normal. Its hereditary so I imagine I'll be in the same boat, so I'm taking notes... ??
  15. So, the local nail bar had a refurbishment job and slung out a load of coated 18mm mdf... Myself and my two boys have a few pews, so a plan formed pretty fast... 18mm mdf is VERY heavy. Lol. Got the boys to drill and hold things, life skills and all that. The plan is to outline the guns in a cod zombies way and put the question marks on the storage box like they mystery (aka the jingly) box. Need some shelves to put mags and chargers but not bad for a grand total of £20. ?
  16. I was going with the desert cowboy look... ??
  17. Dad's and their kids eh? ? I'm the same. Mate of mine got us into it (he's currently at some massive weekend gig with 3000 other like minded nutters) and now me and both my boys are into it. So much so that the kids games "room" is slowly being converted into an armoury!! I've bought a couple of second hand guns and stripped them down, sorting out what I can, so that I'm now jealous of the youngest (9!!!) and his Mp5sd!!! I don't run, I think of it as tactical walking. Knee pads are a really good idea!!! Don't get bogged down with "everything must be perfect" type clothes, unless you're wearing a guantanamo Bay orange overall, most things blend in with your surroundings. ?? Oh and don't accidentally shoot your boy as he's ventured too far ahead as he'll never let you forget it.. ?? Call your hits and love every daft second of it. ??
  18. Lol, I'm working on it. ??
  19. "standing in the rabbit hole looking up....." Now on pew #6.... Honey badger, m4 (boys), m58 shotgun, Mp5sd (other boys!) , mp5, mk23+gofasterbits, m92f, glock 17... Loving it....
  20. Sorry for the bump but has anyone managed to get a battery compartment extension for this yet? I don't want to damage my cables anymore. I've removed the spring loaded stock opening doodad which gives a bit more room but another 30-40mm would help....
  21. Ah, a bakery dweller! Modicon plc? Good lord!!!
  22. Yup. 25 years industrial maintenance engineer and I hate house wiring. ESPECIALLY plumbing wiring. Bleurch. Gimme a 3 phase or inverter any day!! Nice panel by the way Dan. Tidy. ?
  23. Good points made by all. Interesting read on ASG too. I'm fairly new to the game and had no idea really, hence the question. ? Makes sense that they don't break down completely unless "composted" properly and I can't see many sites running around with a vacuum cleaner picking them up from the woods ??? I work in the food industry and that wastes a shed load of money/time/plastic, it just doesn't sit right sometimes. (watches ring doorbell for greta visits.....)
  24. Morning team. Heard a comment at my last skirmish about bio Bb's and I thought I'd ask the collective. Game was stopped as someone got a shattered bb in the eye through some mesh, I heard a guy say that the bio degradable bb's can shatter. I have searched but maybe my search terms were off a bit but I like to use them, considering we throw a lot into the woods (some even hit their target?) and 40 odd players lobbing a kilo of plastic balls each is going to get greta thunderbug on a mission.... So, for the semi noob in me, do they? Are they bad news? I don't need guilt for blinding someone cos I was trying to do my bit.... ??
