  1. Finally got an email from them today saying the pew was now pewing and I can come and collect it.

Going to go down tomorrow with my Chrono and some BBs and see how it performs.  Must resist the urge to buy more shit though LOL.  Sent 4 in to Airsoft Monkey in Stevenage to be fixed up so its going to be an expensive few weeks 😁

Gun is 10/11 months old and has never worked.

  2. Yep - it seems to have a spike each morning...  I sent WMBO a load of stirling, but of course it was my fault hte exchange rate went down and she "couldn't use it". LOL

We use Wise bank so can set the rate to convert money automatically - I wonder how ambitious she has got?

With all the worry about the megaquake I am assuming things will not be changed at their end for a while so hopefully the pound will continue to recover.

I'd expect TM to have a site that looks like it was made later than 1998.

Don't overestimate how shyte Japanese websites can be.

Here is a link to massive store that sells everything from booze to washing machines, toys, electronics.

I can't tell you how painful it was last year trying to set up a web domain and email system for my father in-law.

That being said, I am surprised there isn't a way of contacting them on LINE (a japanese version of WhatsApp).

  4. Going against the grain.....  I have not had a problem with sending stuff via Evri in the past - not that I've sent Airsoft gear that way.  I only use it because it is handy for me as the Post Office is never open when I need to send stuff, and our favourite local convenience store is also a drop off point.

Sending a remote control off to be repaired this evening, so fingers crossed I haven't just jinxed myself.

    freewheeling mice

possibly the greatest invention of this century

My Logi MX Master 3S mouse has a button that switches the wheel from free spinning to line by line...  Very handy.

There used to be a function in mobile Chrome where you could two-finger double tap the top of the screen and it would send you to the top of the page on your phone/tablet, but like many things in the world of Crapple and Android - genuinely useful features get taken away for no discernible reason.

  6. Shimming just means putting something inside the mag well to hold the mags in the best position for feeding.  Much like you shim your gearbox with various thicknesses of washer to get the gears to mesh nicely.

I've got half a dozen layers of leccie tape on the rear wall of my mag well to push the top of the magazines forward as I found that I was having to push the magazines forwards with my hand when firing to get them working reliably.

Specna use more than one OEM; consequently, not all Specna branded mags work in all Specna branded guns.

We have loads of different brands for our mags... I think the only Specna mags are the two that came with mine out of the box.... The rest are whatever I've bought from the classifieds here and Amazon.

  8. I have had to shim the back of my baby Specna's mag well with layers of electrical tape to help some of my mags sit forward enough to feed.  My ICS L85, DE M904 seem happy with anything.  Our big Specna seems less fussy.

The boy's ICS L85 is a little fussy, btu all he does it take the mag out and reinsert it.

  9. Well the Nylon 12 plates have arrived and I have to say I am not overly confident in how long they will last.   I'm guessing the return spring hook will be the first to break.

Not sure I can justify £60+ for the the POM version though.  WIll have to stock up on genuine ones.

Now to find out what sized O-rings I need for the nozzle and piston.

  10. Strongly recommend RIFT at Abingdon.  Large open site often with vehicles to commandeer.

Welcome to the hobby and as said - rocking up on your todd is never an issue...  Just throw yourself into the games and ask about people's pew pews - very often they'll let you have a go too - one chap let my son and his mate fire off his £5.5K minigun.  Put a massive grin on both their faces.

  11. Well....don't I feel a bit of a dick?!😮💨

Not sure how I missed this on the last few strip downs....

Teeth must have been disintegrating bit by bit.

Luckily had a few project/educational gearboxes lying around with metal teethed pistons.  Just chrono'd her and she's at 332fps on 0.2 bbs and zero hop.

Wonder how long my piston has to live now, plus why on earth did these get chewed up so completely?  The boy only ever uses 7.4v lipos and the box has never been opened before this probem started.... it didn't look like that when I first took it apart the other weekend (see the very first piccie).

  12. Well you're only losing 21% oxygen,  so barring potential condensation issues (cant recall hpa users mentioning this), the only other advantages would be convenience for you.

You have it for free so great... otherwise it's like having the premium air option for you car tyres 🤣

  13. Had a cracking day at a CQB site where I ran a Glock with a few mags for most of the day.

I'm a bit of a unit, so just running a pistol made me a bit more nimble than usual.  Favourite kill of the day was headshotting an enemy at point bank range (he had a helmet) after sneaking round behind him.  Had enough time to do a Clarence Bodica vs Alex Murphy "nananana nanananana nananananana BOOM" move too 😁.

It's all down to how you play.

Oh and I'm a tight arse, and see no point using anything more than 0.2s indoors.  It's not like you need to punch through a hedge or adjust for cross winds.

I learned quite quickly to not meddle with my pews, don't mind bying boneyards for the wall but don't fancy making more.

Sadly this is in response to his pew suddenly dropping in performance with nothing changing.   Learned a lesson though....I'm only changing one thing at a time.

Next test is to swap the springs out between his and mine as there is nearly a year on his compared to mine, as its simple and non intrusive,  but I'm pretty certain it's something between nozzle and barrel.

  15. Ooff just had the quote back for POM units...£62 each plus VAT.  Same again for the nozzle to match.  If i order five units it dropped to £55+ per unit.

Any ICS L85 owners interested? 😶🌫️

  16. Changed the bucking and made things worse....BBs were getting stuck in the hop and the gun sounded generally awful.

I suppose that's because of Maple Leaf rubbers having bigger lips?

Put the oem back in and fps dropped even more...plus the usual issue of not always selecting single shot.   *sigh*.

  17. Well, new plate fitted (oem) and we appear to be back up and running at 1.26 joules.

Have a company looking to produce me some POM ones because I'm pretty sure it's me running g 11.1v batteries increasing the ROF that's caused it.  The gun never seems happy on 7.4s.

Retro Arms aren't doing their ones.  Will see how thr stl file I got works with the on replacement, then tak it from there.....anyone Interested in a POM on?   I assume price per unit goes down with more made.

  18. Well...4 actually....my tappet plate doesn't look like it's arriving until Tuesday.... so the boy will be on one of the Specnas as a backup and I'll be in the DE or remaining Specna.

Then again we still have is Bolt action and my SVU.......You know....just in case.

  19. LOL.

Tried a couple but none were any better.  Seems to be averaging 250 now on 0.2g which isn't great.  Get the occasional blockage if there's too much hop too.  Frustrating as we're now back to orignal parts.

Will not get a chance to test long (arf)  range bop until gameday now which is a shame.  Even if the new bucking comes tomorrow.
