  1. If you live in an urban area going to a skirmish is your best bet I'd say. Thou I think there is an airsoft range near or on Edgware road in London.
  2. Well, yes. While a lead pellet at 7J can do a lot more potential damage at a direct hit, far more injuries are attributed to airsoft and BB guns. This is because the pellet tend to stop when it hits the target, or ricochet slightly. BBs on the other hand ricochet all over the place.
  3. THAT might be an issue thou, if you intend to shoot an airsoft at an airgun range. Due to them shooting BBs rather than pellets.
  4. Since we're on the topic. What do you think about military re-enactment? Or someone wearing SS skull as part of a German ww2 uniform? It's not like buying a black belt and pretending you earned it. There's a big difference there. If you buy a black belt and proudly wear it to karate training or semishow (like wearing ranks in public or at a veteran event), I agree with you. But if you buy it for your cosplay to wear at comicons (like wearing rank in an airsoft skimishing), I'd don't see what the issue is. WRONG!! Stolen valor is if you are trying to make people think you are someone who you are not. However, telling people you earned them would be. What's his opinion on you wearing it? Them caring may well become your business thou....... Best expect the worst
  5. Indeed. HOWEVER I'd say that is another issue. THIS should not be the reason for someone to refrain from say wearing para wings. If one deems it disrespectful towards those who'd wear them in the army, then that should be the reason and the argument that should be used. imho. What I've heard giving the local scene a really bad reputation within the army is one team in particular that take them selves very seriously and use a rank system based on the real one, where you have to earn your ranks and climb your way up etc. (plus a few very blatant statements made by said team diminishing the achievements of those who wear the real ranks)
  6. For me airsoft is just an action sport, everything in my kit is either useful in airsoft or fun. But to those who like to copy the uniforms of various military, it is more of a roleplay/re-enactment really. As long as they do not pretend to be something they are not when they are out of character, ea. not roleplaying, I personally really don't see that there is any issues. After all, we do this in video games all the time. I know a lot of people disagree* and I know some people can get pretty emotional about this, so it is to you to make up your mind how you feel about it and weather you feel that you can stand your ground or not. Oh, you might be kicked (banned?) of a site if you wear something offensive. Never heard about this happening, but some sites does have rules about using appropriate language due to kids being present. *Wont take that discussion in this thread. You are entitled to your opinion.
  7. Probably. I wouldn't be surprised if majority of people owning airsofts are. Was thinking about that today, how some think that weapons manufacturers licensing their logos to an airsoft brand is a seal of approval. While in reality they see airsoft as toys rather than sporting equipment and couldnt give a damn about the quality of the products.
  8. so no probs puttin em on the charger n go shed some plastic later then? fully aware not to puncture them (unless you wanna make a cool vid^^), but good advice never the less! got the lipo proof bag also
  9. Wouldn't say they are "badly swollen", but who am I to tell, here's the pics: vidz too * well, it is LiPo compatible for sure, and it has the balance bit as well.. So its standard for LiPo chargers to cut off when finished rather than keeping on charging then? great info on the amps!!
  10. Strange that, not a big fan of gearbox tinkering - hence AK/V3 - but I dont find closing it too problematic..
  11. So yea. got some lipos (nano-tech airsoft 2.0 2000mAh 15-25c 7.4v and ASG 1300mAh 20c 7.4v) and a Ansmann xBase 20 SE charger. The charger did not include a manual, so I have a few question. I got them secondhand (only tested), 2 of the 3 batteries I got are slightly swollen (about 1mm on each side I estimate from squeezing them), is this ok? Secondly, the charger has two columns one saying LiPo and below it says 1.3A (ranges from 0.1A and 4.0A). What does this indicate and what is it suppose to be set to? Second column says CHARGE and below it 8.4V(25). the setting lower than this is 4.2V(15).. this seems a bit odd? Is this charger compatible with these batteries?? Also, does anyone know if this charger stops/trickles when the battery is full? Thanks all
  12. ICS tend to be solid. If you're looking for another real solid mp5, Classic Army B&T metal. Used mine (mp5k) as primary for ages, loved it and heard several people swear it's the best AEG out there (dont have a personal opinion on that matter btw). Stocks (solid ones as well) do seem to be a weak point on airsoft mp5s.. I guess due to the design.
  13. Just a word of advice about TM magic: lots of their reputation/fans are from the old days when they were pretty much the one and only.. competition have caught up, they are still good thou.. yada yada, we all know I'm not a huge fan so that the advice for what it is.
  14. Oh you do, do you? If I had it my way, criminals evicted of assault would not be allowed to learn how to more effectively hurt people. I have just lived enough life to know that a lot of criminals does just this, reoffend, get caught, let out again and so it goes. It is a game and a sport, but it does utilise items that can and are being used in criminal activity, hence who can participate should be limited. As for common sense in laws.. I really do not see what you are hinting at, but common sense does sadly not apply in English laws, nor is it possible with the way the legal system works in England. I do not think this discussion can further progress I can not see your point of view and you can clearly not see mine. I suggest we leave it at that.
  15. My advice would be to get a backup AEG before getting a sidearm. This means when your AEG does not act the way you'd expect it to, you can still play normally. GBBs can be real fun! But they are not very versatile in what kind of scenarios you can use them in, and they have little to non real advantage over an AEG. *So what I am saying is... DO get a GBB sidearm, but get a secondary AEG first!
  16. In future, it might be a good idea to leave if you find yourself working for a company or person whose values you do not share or want to be associated with - and I am saying this not as criticism towards you, but rather, a general piece of advice that you might want to consider, not so much for the sake of the customers sake - but for your own. Again, I know nothing about you, no harsh feelings!
  17. AAAH-HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAA XD >Its an alright company Nah, they're crooks. >after working there you get to find out alot stuff behind closed doors. I would go on to explain what happaned but it will take way too long. I'm sure it would be very appreciated and that a lot of people on here would love to read it. >Seen alot threads which mention I was/am a bad tech. I personally think this was far from truth. Most of us in the shop fixed the guns but only 3 of us could do it to a high/good standard. The rest just bodged the f*ck out of them but ofcourse because I was the main tech everything which that shop repaired reflected onto me! Yea.. I know nothing about you or your tech skills, but this did not come out very well - sounds like you're passing blame without backing it. Just sayin'
  18. ZeroIn is good, but I find it rather hostile at times. Not just the members, but also for example you would not be allowed to mention AFUK over there. Here is a bit more friendly
  19. And good on them! Get a hobby, find a job, just not one that involves replica firearms!! As for it being narrow minded: no, again, there's a reason why people convicted for certain crimes can not own firearms - just as people convicted for certain crimes can not work in close approximation to children. As for your last sentence, those are the only two crimes you deem unforgivable? Anyway, we are getting hugely sidetracked.
  20. You don't get over 5 years in prison for stealing a mars bar. There's a reason for the firearms ban. I fail to see any scenario or perspective (other than that of a criminal) where letting a convicted criminal own or handle a realistic imitation firearm (or anything that even remotely resembles a weapon of any type) would be a good thing.
  21. Wrong place to ask. Not saying you can't, but you will get more/better qualified answers on a paintball forum.
  22. >Hello guys I wanna buy airsoft gun, never had one so this is the problem would like to get nice one around 50-80 pounds. Aint non. You would have to go up to around 100 space bucks, at that price the G&G CM16 pretty much flattens all competition. >http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/Two-Tone-Umarex-Heckler-Koch-G36C-Sportline-AEG_A1DF48.aspx#.VbISJfl_Oko lets say like that one weight is almost 2.5kilo and have about 350 fps and question is is 350 fps would be enough or it's kind'a week? Generally around 350 fps wtih .2g BBs is pretty standard, check your local site for exact information. >And just wondering I can still shoot with airsoft gun paintball ammo? Assuming its the 6mm meant for airsoft guns: I would not recommend it. Are they good quality? Probably not. What will happen if they shatter in the magazine/gun? Nothing pleasant. >and what diffrent is between electric and gas guns? are they both safe to use for long time/? Yes they are both safe for normal use over an extended amount of time. Difference is one runs on a battery, which powers a motor to compress air. Gas you fill a container in the magazine or the gun up with compressed gas and that is released the fire the BBs. Gas tend to be more fun, more expensive, less reliable, and depending on the gas system may not use work in all weather. >if somebody can give me any suggestion please give it really wanna get gun in the next few days Get an AEG, if on a tight budget, get a G&G CM16. Generally total start up spendings is a minimum at around 200 gbp (example of things you may want to buy: eye/faceprotection, knee protection, ankle protection (boots), spare mag, spare battery, spare BBs (dont go cheap!)). You should probably buy a spare AEG before buying a sidearm (sucks missing games because your AEG is non operational).
