  1. Should get onto them! They should replace those controllers if you are having issues.
  2. If you don't mind using a facebook account then I would recommend the Quest 2 is best for price (as a quest 2 user myself). Can be used standalone without a computer or you can just connect it to your PC witha USB cable (one long enough haha) and play your VR games from your steam library etc
  3. This was a brilliant day with decent gamemodes! Kudos to Carl and the other marshalls!
  4. I would recommend going rental and having an AEG first time round. Sniping is an aquired taste when it comes to using it at an airsoft field combined with the minimum engagement rules, you might not get the full feel of airsoft by going sniper first time round and could find it "boring" or too slow. If you like the look of it from youtube/fb videos, just remember it takes those guys a whole day / weekend to get enough "hit" footage to fit a video a few mins long.
  5. Great stuff, hopefully you'll have a good game and get into it!
  6. You've got Bassett's Pole right on your door. https://playairsoft.uk/sites/west-midlands/fireball-squadron/ https://www.npfbassettspole.com/airsoft/airsoft-skirmish
  7. Hi mate, welcome to the forum. 25 is still classed as "young" in this hobby, so you'll be fine (I started when I was 33). Where in the Midlands are you based? I would have a read in this forum category, taking note of the pinned topics that will help you get a feel of what to expect from the community and the hobby in general. General concensus is to go Rental first and see if the hobby is for your liking before spending money on kit. Take a look at @GAMBLE's channel, tailored more for the beginners if you perfer watching videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL-V_yVApaCpm096XBAQE1A/videos
  8. Welcome to the forum @Buck3131 Looks like you doing it the right way, rental first instead of "all the gear and no idea" I wouldnt worry about meeting up with anyone from here, I've found most people at games are approchable and some even let you have a feel and take a few plinks with their guns. (insert fast show "ooooohhhhhhh, suit you sir" here) While you are waiting for your first game, give @GAMBLE's channel a view, specially aimed towards to new players: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL-V_yVApaCpm096XBAQE1A/videos
  9. Yeah would recommend what @Rogerborg said. Sniping might look "cool" when you see it on youtube or fb videos, but its an aquired taste and it takes those guys that film a whole day / weekend to get enough "hit" footage to fit a video a few mins long.

Sure you can mention me, buddy. I'm 6ft 2, average build floating towards the dad bod, and I don't know if it's cuz I've hit mid 30s but I've noticed I've started to sweat more than a glassblowers arse while doing exercise! I've kept off the sugar loaded fizzy drinks, hence why the coke zero I took the following month did naff all! Would recommend the raspberry lucozade sport over the orange tho 😂👍

One of the things I found during my first few games is that I was finishing the day with a headache, although I was packing litres of water away during the day and having lunch. Unfortunately water doesn't replace the electrolytes you use during the game and lose through sweating. I take a 4 pack of lucozade sport now, as they were my go to drink when I used to play football, finish the day headache free now!
  12. Was about to post this, experienced a bit of it myself when I first started playing 🤣
  13. Has anyone tried messaging @proffrink directly?
  14. Surely its got to be a high cap that requires you to take the mag out to wind the wheel every 5 rounds 🤣
  15. Repping the forum patch, last Sunday 😎😂Screenshot_20210918_172203_com.android.gallery3d_edit_186267360870015.thumb.jpg.7d892ab74e76f1eda40bcaf23e320d28.jpg

Looks like you'll all be getting your badges after all! 🥳

  16. Dont need to go "full face mask" unless you want to get some fans/ventilation on the go to stop it fogging up like the car on the sex scene on Titanic. I went glasses (with a combo of "cat crap" anti fog paste, yes its a real thing) and a mouth guard similar to this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RDK983J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  17. Welcome to the forum dude. I think you should go along and get a few games under your belt too My kids are still young (8 and 5) but I plan on dragging them along when old enough haha.
  18. I've seen people use on the site I go to either a small backpack or a molle style pouch for their bottle to go in. Similar to this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vest-Pouch-V-TAC-Tank-Universal-Black/dp/B01AKDA04W/ref=asc_df_B01AKDA04W/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=214275304074&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5361533926540747070&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006686&hvtargid=pla-360414403589&psc=1&th=1&psc=1 Example:
  19. Welcome to the forum dude! Glad you are getting into it, especially with the family, might help with getting any grief from the missus over "purchases" I feel for your 14yo, as my mate managed to shoot me in the gooch whilst I was crouched on a hill!
  20. Welcome to the forum @Scorp As per my previous posts in other topics, make sure you dont skimp out on getting decent eye protection and get some boots with ankle suppor (your ankles will thank you later!) before you start spending money on guns. Ideally, try rental before buying your guns, to see if airsoft is for you because unlike paintball that In the meantime, checkout @GAMBLE's videos here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL-V_yVApaCpm096XBAQE1A/videos to give you a more realistic insight to airsoft than the clickbaity ones on youtube.
  21. Welcome to the forum dude. Would suggest decent eye pro, boots with ankle support and to go rental first and see if the sport is for you before buying any GEAR (and if you do, wait for your UKARA) You'll be more than likely given an AEG to play with. Most airsofters are approachable, will answer any of your queries and will normally let you take a plink with their gun. Ps. Here a link to @GAMBLE channel as someone has forgotten to post it 👀 https://youtube.com/channel/UCL-V_yVApaCpm096XBAQE1A
  22. Welcome to the forum dude. Let us know how you get on 👍
  23. Hi @Paulrep Welcome to the forum. Have you played airsoft before? If not, any reason why you are anchoring towards snipering? It can be an acquired taste, don't be fooled by the 10 min videos you see of people getting hit, it's normally taken the guy filming a whole day to capture anything of worth sharing, especially with the minimum engagement rules. You can get budget sniper rifles, but unless you've got a valid defence such as a UKARA number, you have to have it two tone. EDIT: Kudos to @Shamal who seems to have posted at the same time as me 😉 So ignore the double asked questions 😅
  24. In this case, the guy was quite flamboyant on the private messages and thanked my brother for his "free" games. Although my brother provided this as proof to PayPal, they still wanted to see a delivery acknowlegement. I always think now to save the ball ache of sorting stuff out, just pay the extra quid or two (put it into the cost of the item) and have peace of mind.
