What is reasonable wear and tear for an airsoft RIF?
Groot replied to AirSniper's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
While its shit. You kind of need to see it from the shop overs point of view. Every person who calls them with a broken gun, will tell him its only just fired a few rounds and barely seen day light. You can break a perfectly good AEG very quickly with bad ammo, over power battery, spamming the trigger faster than the gun can function, getting a jam and keeping firing, doing some "maintenance on it" etc etc So if i was a retailer I would just assume everyone is a dick and write my policy to match I always assume my AEG is going to break and carry a backup. Because.. I am sometimes right The good news is now you can get it correctly shimmed, take out the ton of grease it doesn't need, maybe short stroke the box, add a stronger spring. Very cheap mods making a huge difference. While its apart replace the hob rubber and nub with a mapleleaf. When life gives you lemons -
I had a Vector and sold it after a month. It was an itch i wanted to scratch and it did not fail me. In fact it worked really well. Just after owning it. I did not like the feel or general "pointyness" of it for CQB. Its also fucking heavy. If you haven't actually held one in anger. I would recommend you do that first before making the leap. If you can actually find one.

I agree it is a sickening result, due to the sites being all pussy now and demanding more and more single fire Back when we ran AEGs, carrying 6-9 Hicaps, 9.6v 3300a batteries and 20k of spare bbs in your backpack.. (Just incase.) It was never an issue Make full auto great again!

I love my TM GBB MP7 but i would not even consider trying to carry it around if i was playing the sniper role. It's just too big and heavy. It would get more in the way and not enough usage to make it worth while. Go with a decent pistol. If you must spray and pray. An 18C

Run its on propane. Cutting a few teeth and getting the power right, is not what i would consider an upgrade. Also, they are called bitch tits!!

What? AEG's die or last for ages. Only rule for me is never buy a heavily upgraded 2nd hand gunless you plan to instantly open it and un-funk some "experts" work. Skill is great and all.... half decent skills with extra range and consistency, is even better. Fortunately for me... I'm fucking amazing and also have really meta builds. *now rub my nipples*

OP. The best thing you can do is get a Cyma or Specna arms for as cheap as possible or even better second hand. Then send that to a tech with a known rep and be prepared to wait to send it to one that is busy for good reason. You will end up with a better build, for less money then buying a premium TM. These days you would want to get the gearbox short stroked anyway. So its going to need to see some love at somepoint. You may as well start that process as early as possible.

£60-70 at best I would say. That kit new is circa £100 and that the only part of the build that will interest most people.

Set your range up at the end of the garden and shoot from the kitchen.

Depends on the power and the hop of the DMR. My MWS with a stock rubber and Six6 will hop a .45 and it will go straight and true. That was tested at 450fps ( on .2s ) Higher the FPS and better the hop = Heavier weight BB ( Geoffs ) you can run. This is why snipers running 460-470 fps ( on .2s ) run 0.4 and up. Less affected by nature and holds its energy for a longer distance.

I see this far to often at games and someone needs to speak out. To guide the youth of tomorrow. Here is a simple handy guide Wrong Very Wrong Better Closer Warmer That's it, That's it!

Its really not worth the effort. I could cheat almost any chrono and carry on my merry way with a hot gun. Ammo weight lie, quick spring swap, PTW cylinder change, hop fiddle, NPAS adjust or gas change. Worse still, avoid the chrono completely or put a gun through and change to a hot gun in the second game. VERY few sites check at all beyond the morning, "Please go chrono. Here is a little tag" dance. Best way is do your check in the morning, to weed out any newbies who have rocked up with a new gun that is hot out the box. Then random in game chrono. Both examples using site provided ammo. Do that and then FPS or Joules are a moot point. ( Joule creep aside but thats really only for Gas and Snipers ) Again, site provided .2s and .5s for situation would mitigate this as best it could. Outside of that people will lie and cheat for an edge or because they are a little cunty.

Breathes in .... Probably illegal - But no one cares. Most things we do to our toy guys break a law in some way - But no one cares. Do what you want with your toy gun, just don't do it in front of a cop or social media - No one will care. Don't be a cunt with it - We will care and doomy doomy doom will find you!
