What is reasonable wear and tear for an airsoft RIF?
Groot replied to AirSniper's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
While its shit. You kind of need to see it from the shop overs point of view. Every person who calls them with a broken gun, will tell him its only just fired a few rounds and barely seen day light. You can break a perfectly good AEG very quickly with bad ammo, over power battery, spamming the trigger faster than the gun can function, getting a jam and keeping firing, doing some "maintenance on it" etc etc So if i was a retailer I would just assume everyone is a dick and write my policy to match I always assume my AEG is going to break and carry a backup. Because.. I am sometimes right The good news is now you can get it correctly shimmed, take out the ton of grease it doesn't need, maybe short stroke the box, add a stronger spring. Very cheap mods making a huge difference. While its apart replace the hob rubber and nub with a mapleleaf. When life gives you lemons -
I had a Vector and sold it after a month. It was an itch i wanted to scratch and it did not fail me. In fact it worked really well. Just after owning it. I did not like the feel or general "pointyness" of it for CQB. Its also fucking heavy. If you haven't actually held one in anger. I would recommend you do that first before making the leap. If you can actually find one.

I agree it is a sickening result, due to the sites being all pussy now and demanding more and more single fire Back when we ran AEGs, carrying 6-9 Hicaps, 9.6v 3300a batteries and 20k of spare bbs in your backpack.. (Just incase.) It was never an issue Make full auto great again!

I love my TM GBB MP7 but i would not even consider trying to carry it around if i was playing the sniper role. It's just too big and heavy. It would get more in the way and not enough usage to make it worth while. Go with a decent pistol. If you must spray and pray. An 18C

Run its on propane. Works a treat. https://www.screwfix.com/p/rothenberger-propane-disposable-gas-cylinder-400g/71092?tc=ST5&ds_kid=92700055262507126&ds_rl=1244066&gclid=Cj0KCQiAkZKNBhDiARIsAPsk0Wgja2gUcVMaUC8x1JG7Ok-2utYqP9UeTQQafyGXid9HenW6nk_FSHIaAn6-EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds You can get an adapter of Ali for about £9

Cutting a few teeth and getting the power right, is not what i would consider an upgrade. Also, they are called bitch tits!!

What? AEG's die or last for ages. Only rule for me is never buy a heavily upgraded 2nd hand gunless you plan to instantly open it and un-funk some "experts" work. Skill is great and all.... half decent skills with extra range and consistency, is even better. Fortunately for me... I'm fucking amazing and also have really meta builds. *now rub my nipples*

OP. The best thing you can do is get a Cyma or Specna arms for as cheap as possible or even better second hand. Then send that to a tech with a known rep and be prepared to wait to send it to one that is busy for good reason. You will end up with a better build, for less money then buying a premium TM. These days you would want to get the gearbox short stroked anyway. So its going to need to see some love at somepoint. You may as well start that process as early as possible.

£60-70 at best I would say. That kit new is circa £100 and that the only part of the build that will interest most people.

Set your range up at the end of the garden and shoot from the kitchen.

Firstly are you using 11.1s or 7.4s? You need 11.1s and you can get ones that fit in the standard grip. My Vector needed a cut down M120 to get to 350 fps. It sounds to me something is struggling. Even though its new, that means nothing in terms of how well it was put together. Take the box apart. Check for missing teeth, bad shimming, over grease etc. I had a Vector and its was really snappy in stock form with an 11.1. So while this will be obvious, you have an issue somewhere and you are going to need to get into it to work out what. Also the vector has propriety parts. So yeah... This could be fun for you. That said, it might be that you are feathering your trigger faster than the gun can actually work. That being the case, a short stroked or dsg gearbox is your future.

No one is going to care if you are husky at an Airsoft game. Yes, you might get a few comments, but that's going to be the same in pretty much any situation you will find yourself in. Nothing can be done about that and needs to be risen above. As long as you get stuck in and take your hits, you will find new friends. Simple as that really. Side note, most of us are rocking dad bods anyway. We aren't all chizzled action heroes

That said. There is a little known law that states all M14's MUST look like this one

I don't disagree but in the UK if you are running rental power, you will be out range by everyone else on the field. The stock hop on the stock TM is fine but it struggles to lift heavier rounds and even getting to it compared to a normal AEG is a pain in the fucking tit. Don't get me wrong. I am not against expensive AEG's. I am currently sitting here refurbishing all my PTW Pmags
