I anticipated filth...and you delivered! Seriously impressive shipping from Red Wolf too. May have to give them a look. -
Any recommendations for an Eotech clone sight 551/553/558
C-Diddy replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I'm a big fan of the look of an EoTech on a 416. I got this EXPS3 and G43 clone from an airsoft store on eBay for around £120 a couple of years ago. They look pretty good, the reticule is nice and crisp, but it's only ever a guide to your target! I do have to say the Red Dot Engineering sight protectors are great though. Definitely worth a few extra quid. -

Yep, I tend to agree. I've been contemplating a similar build to give my 9.3 URGI a big brother. HAO rail? -
With an MWS and MP7 (that combo sounds familiar 🤔) I'd be tempted to add an AEG option, but it's entirely subjective. Can't comment on the options you've mentioned, but if one of them makes you feel warm and fuzzy in the bathing suit area, go for that one. Not wanting to teach you to suck eggs, but if you don't have an AEG and decide to go that route, consider battery space and mag compatibility, as well as decent battery charger when budgeting.

Absolutely, especially the way airsoft prices in general have shot up in the last 6/12 months. Some things are absolutely ridiculous now. Getting back on topic though, @cart3rlfc what GBB are you currently running and what backup are you considering?

Looking forward to seeing this one -
This is really good advice, and looking back, is exactly how I ended up with an AEG as back-up to my MWS.

This advert is COMPLETED!

Much as I do love this, I'm not using it to skirmish, and this needs to be used in games rather than just on the range. Package includes: Tokyo Marui MP7A1 GBB Original packaging with all accessories (cleaning/unjamming rod, instructions, BBs etc) included 3x spare TM magazines, all gas tight Angry Gun dummy suppressor with flash hider (this is not the tracer version) Spare TM original nozzle Spare magazine gas valve The gun and magazines are completely stock and everything is in great condition. The only reason for putting the condition as 'Used' is due to a couple of small marks on the rails, where the paint has worn away from attaching optics/torches etc, and a couple of marks on the mags where they have knocked together in my gear bag. The suppressor arrived with the scratch shown in the photo, and also, the corner of the box has a tear, which, tbh I was more annoyed with than the marks on the gun! When I've used it on the range, the gun lifted .3s consistently out to 50m+ on green gas, and is a lot of fun to fire. Price includes PayPal fees, and postage (express48). If you're close to the New Forest area though, collection could be an option. **PRICE AMENDED - I realised I was being a bit too ambitious!** Happy to provide more photos/videos of the gun firing and being chronoed. Just drop me a message. Finally, I'm not sure what's going on with some of the photos, but, for the life of me I can't get some of them to rotate to the correct orientation. Sorry.£365

Yeah, but you'd have to be a right throbber to do that...so here's mine!

Personally, I do, but I know a few players who are absolutely anti-AEG, so they take another gas gun. My feeling is that, although I much prefer using my MWS, there are more factors that can cause it to stop working correctly than an AEG, so I cover both bases. I've had the feeling of paying for a game day, the rifle shitting itself within 10 minutes and, with no back-up, doing the walk of shame back to the car and leaving. Don't want to repeat it. If AEGs aren't your thing though, consider another GBBR. Either way, yes, take a back-up. You can never have too many guns, right?

Loads of patterns available. I have black, OD and tan, and got my lad some in woodland. Love them. -
I haven't heard of that, but definitely one to try. Cheers fellas. I've learnt something today.

As I'm sure you don't need telling, for immersion a GBBR is probably the best option. Although I don't use my MWS as often as an AEG, it's definitely more fun to use. For an AEG with recoil, my experience is limited to my NGRS 416, but I do love it. I have the DEVGRU model and it's been phenomenal in the three years I've had it, and suspect the 416 Deltauld be no different. Like you, I predominately shoot on semi, but have experienced lock-up a few times. A quick flick to auto and it's unfucked itself, but the mosfet option, while I'd argue isn't strictly necessary, is something I'll probably do, so may be one to bear in mind.

Not sue if these are the best, but a combination of these is what I use: Tech T Gun Sav lube Abbey Rifle and Gun Oil Abbey Silicon Spray Gun oil on the metal parts, Tech T (the pink tub AlphaBear mentions) for the piston seal and a bit of silicon on flannelette pulled-through for the barrel - one wet, two dry. Standing by to be told I'm talking out my hoop 😆

Amen. I've never used Nuprol BBs but have your words ringing in my ears everytime I see a bottle of them! Open Blasters and Geoffs Bio BBs are all I get now.

Yes lad!!! Gun day is fun day. Fairly comprehensive list there pal. Only thing I did after not using mine for around three months, was run each mag through the gun to make sure there's nothing sinister going on. Which gas you going to run? UltraAir or Abbey Predator? Those are your go-to gases IIRC.

Big shout to Sam at KOA.

Not a daft question at all. Loading GBBR mags can be something of a dark art. Using a pistol loader with adapter is good. The TM M4 mag-style loader has the adapter attached, and is what I used for my MWS for a while. With either of these options, as you've discovered, the angle you hold the speedloader is key. Now I use an Airtac adapter for my Odin and it's a gamechanger. Literally three turns and the mag's full. I know Odin's aren't cheap but it's definitely up there as the best £50 I've spent for airsoft. Looking at the Airtac site, they do an adapter for VFC M4 GBBR mags too, so one to maybe bear in mind? https://www.airtac.me/shop/p/vfc-m4

I've had the Umarex Gen 4 for a few years now. Tbh, like a lot of pistols, it's more for show, especially as I don't play CQB. I've done very little to it apart from clean it, and not even bothered fine tuning the hop to make sure BBs go straight. I do like it though. Mags are pretty expensive however. Time over again, I'd be more tempted by the TM Gen 4 as, for the price, you're paying more for the official licence with the Umarex. TMs just work.

Absolutely cracking day at Camouflage Bournemouth today. Took my lad and one of his mates who has been bitten by the bug too. Despite the frosty weather causing a few grumbles about cold fingertips, the lads got into it quickly, and in the first game, as attackers, we made solid, if slow progress in pushing the enemy back through the game site. A quick trip back to the safe zone to bomb up, roles were reversed and we dug in ready to defend. In five years of airsoft, I have to say this particular game was one of the most purely entertaining and rewarding times I've had on an airsoft field. Being side by side with the boy and his mate as we picked off the advancing blue team, time after time, was pure action movie glee. Having the morning mist still lingering, plus a fair amount of smokes added to the atmosphere, but it was the teamwork, the communication from our team mates, and the sheer number of enemy kills we racked up that made it such good fun. I'm a fairly reserved shooter (usually run an MWS but I figured today was too cold, so ran the NGRS) sticking to semi, and pleasingly, my son has adopted this too. Within 15 minutes of holding one particular spot, we'd all used at least double the rounds we'd spent during the entire first game, and the enemy hadn't reached their second objective yet. I rarely have to recharge mags during a game but the three of us had to refill mags three times as we absolutely destroyed those blue bastards. This continued through the day, as our team completed objectives in a quarter of the time it took the blues. Makes such a difference being with team mates who are all like-minded in their approach to the game, talk to each other and help each other out, rather than have some Jack prick at the back barking at everyone to "PUSH UP!!!" A truly fantastic day with some really good players, and a great way to kick off the first game of the year.

You've probably seen BadaBing's videos on YouTube, but he runs his MWS (and everything else) on propane. As @Khybersaid, propane is 'dryer' than most of the airsoft gases (144a, green, red etc) so a bit of additional lube is probably a good idea.

Mechanix gloves : M-Pact vs Fast Fit
C-Diddy replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Admittedly, not the best dit I've ever spun. Next time I'll add dragons 😆 -
Has anyone here ordered from Airsoft Mania Europe for delivery to the UK? I placed an order for a few magazines 11 days ago, and the order is still waiting to be shipped. I only used them as they were the only place I could find the mags in stock that weren't charging more than £100 for postage. Be good to hear of any recent experiences as my Spidey-sense is tingling a bit.

Mechanix gloves : M-Pact vs Fast Fit
C-Diddy replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
The first pair of gloves I bought were Fast Fits, and bloody good they were too. However, after taking a shot to the knuckle, followed immediately by one to the nail, i opted for M-Pacts, and have used them ever since. I have hands like shovels, so wear XL. They're a good, snug fit, and the rubber offers a good amount of protection without compromising dexterity. I have three pairs in different colours, and have just bought another pair for my son. You won't regret your Fast Fits...but consider adding some M-Pacts too.
