Leadly's Mtw Build Thread - a Dive Head First Into HPA
leadly replied to leadly's topic in High Pressure Air
Fixed it! The phoenix hop unit has a collar inside it that adjusts bucking lip tension. This collar had jammed forward, making it incredibly difficult to poke a BB through the bucking. So after a strip down and rebuild, I adjusted the tension and got a nice steady FPS with only 2-3 FPS variance. No jumps in FPS and no need to double tap! Very happy! Game on!! -

I'd like to assume (I know, I know) that's it's not the mags as it does it with both my MTW mags and both my cheap nuprol ones. The FCU has all of the settings. Dwell, Rate of fire, semi / fire selection I'm going to have a gander at the lip tension and try to re-adjust. After that I'll max the dwell out and see if it's gone away then adjust to suit. -

Managed to have a play around with the MTW again over the past few days. I've had a few issues: ° The need to double tap to get it to fire a BB every 5 - 7 shots ° Inconsistent FPS °Irratic 20FPS jump up then down again Stripped the engine and gave it a clean. It was pretty grubby to be fair. Re-lubed with some Zues Juice. Tested again and the 20FPS jump has gone but I'm still left with a double tap needed every now and then and a variance of about 10 FPS. So as suggested in the MTW discord I've got to have a play about with the lip tension of the phoenix hop. That's my job tonight with a lovely can of ale! -

My 2nd pistol arrived a few days ago! The camo pens have been out!! I'm pretty chuffed with how it came out, time will tell how well it lasts!

Hey guys, I keep on seeing people on Facebook and Instagram selling 3D printed short stroke kits. Some sell just the spacers, one website sold the spacers with different rated springs. Is it wise to change anything else when short stroking other than just pop in the spacers? It's not something I'm dead certain on doing, just curious really as to any negative effects, excessive wear etc. Cheers

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
leadly replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I've purchased another AAP-01. This time in tan to make slapping some camo pen on it a little easier. -
Airsoftworld have just added loads of the two colour pistols. Just picked up a 2nd to camo pen up!!!! So I'll be sticking an Autobot in and using that as my "oh shit" pistol when sniping. Then my black one will have the stock fitted and my 3D printed supressor / maybe a tracer. This will be my running around fun gun, with extended HPA tapped mags inside it!!

I've heard the fire selector is very poorly made. There's issues with screw alignment and holes not being tapped out very well. Someone on the Facebook group said they were on their 3rd one as they keep breaking. I nearly got one myself but decided against it after reading what I had. Plus they don't work with the stock on so that seemed a shame!

Leadly's Mtw Build Thread - a Dive Head First Into HPA

Unfortunately my dreams were shattered! 😂 I had grand plans of running a semi only MTW with no M.E.D......but it wasn't to be. 80 P.S.I is the minimum operating pressure for the Reaper engine, which put me around 365 FPS. The above, plus issues with the reaper engine not resetting sometimes for upto 5 seconds I took it back to Paul. He kindly let me borrow a Forged / Inferno to try out. Took it to Skirmish in Nottingham for a day. It started off well enough, then the issues began. The first problem probably being my own fault and not having the dwell or anything set correctly. I'm new to HPA and MTW'S so I had no clue. The 2nd was it became increasingly difficult to engage safe and actually started firing by itself. Resulting in me shooting my mate in the leg. Went back to Paul, found the trigger pull had adjusted itself to pretty much "engage semi and the it will just fire by itself" so re adjusted that played about with the dwell and got it hitting trees at 65m. This is the part where I became a bit of a pain in the arse. The bad experience put me off so I took home another Milspec / Reaper M. 2 days went by and I went back and swapped it for the inferno! Paul again was fantastic and very understanding that my lack of knowledge was probably putting me off the better choice. And here we are..... The above with an ASG Strike Short dot and QD KAC supressor And then I spent £15 on a Lee's Precision Engineering adapter so I can fit my MK23 Silverback supressor. Resulting in this... Honestly, it's ridiculous how quiet it is now with that on! I'll do a comparison video soon! Oh and I also got a 3litre dive tank. Not the biggest I know but I only live 2 miles from Go-Dive who are still open. I wanted something I can easily carry and fit in my classic mini! -

Quite edit because that was a bit long winded. Basically, I got a HPA starter kit from my mate Paul at http://www.ukfob.co.uk stuck some taps into my MK23 and AAP-01 mags and off I went. Paul ordered 7 of the new forged / Milspec MTW's. I took home a 10" Milspec with some heavy discount attached! -
I've been meaning to put together a build / life with an MTW thread for a while now but have never gotten round to it. So let this be the first step of many. I'll try to detail as best I can the general faffing and me being a bit of a pain in the arse (more on this later). Why I chose to spunk a wedge on HPA stuff and just general thread that might perhaps help others decide if this is the path for them! More at some point soon (probably when the kids have gone to bed), I'm typing this now while I'm supposed to be tidying up play-doh!

My Lee's precision engineering adapter came today so I can fit my MK23 silverback supressor to my MTW!! I'm quite pleased with how it looks! A bit different to the KAC one I've been using! That can be my CQB one 😂
-
Any idea how heavy the scuba tank is? Go-dive have go 20ish % off most things including tanks at the moment! It's payday on Friday and I did a lot overtime!!!
-
Either sell the tan one to me or run one as a pistol and one with the stock etc. I'd obviously prefer it if you sold me the tan one! It'd get a lovely camo pen job and my black one can keep its stock on full time.
-
I know I shouldn't like it but.......

My most recent purchase! A Wolverine MTW 10" Forged edition. After a bit of swapping about between this and the Milspec, I opted for this in the end. Will make a build thread at some point!
-
I've message my lot to see if they fancy it. Will let you know once I get a reply.

My mate Dayne has got the hop chamber, I was a bit gutted to see that to adjust the hop you still need to hinge / remove the slide. Dosn't really seem worth it. I don't think he's tested it much either. Ordering a drum mag for my MTW soon, should fill a void while I'm waiting for a restock of tapp Glock drum mags.
-
Patrol base had a re-stock today but I resisted on getting a second one. I've just sold my ARP9 so now I've got a drum mag shaped hole in my life.....
-
I see, I have learnt many things! My plan was to run it at 1j or just below and use something like 0.25g BB's. I shall whack a Nov modular supressor on the end of it for maximum ssssshhhhh. I've got loads of different weights to okay around with so we shall see what I can achieve. I'll make a project thread when it's in hand!
-
Obviously I'm quite new to the sport and HPA so I've not come across this before but why the limit for HPA users? The BB dosn't know what's propelling it and I could just as easily use joule creep to cause maximum pain with my VSR. (Recently lowered the spring to avoid having a 2.8j RIF when firing 0.46's.)

February will be best for me as my wife's maternity leave finishes in March so I'll either be at work or wrestling children. I'll not offer up any dates as me and my mates all work shifts so what will work for 1 won't work for all. So you guys sort a date and I'll see if I can make it and if I'll be bringing anyone.
-
Yes, from what I've seen in the Facebook group the ejection port cover stays open but apparently you can reverse the spring and do something else to make it stay shut My mates ordered 7 MTW's in total, so I've got the pick of either the 10" Milspec, 10" or 14" forged. At this moment in time I'm 90% certain I'm taking home the Milspec. After going back through all of the posts on Facebook, people seem to only have issues when they try 3 different hop rubbers with 5 different barrels in 4 different hop units and then after that it's trigger micro switches breaking and programming modes going all over the shop. I'm sure different issues will pop up with this new gen but I think I'll be more than happy with semi only. If I need full auto I'll just whip my AAP-01 out! Not paying full retail makes the decision jump head first into HPA a little easier!

Hopefully should debut it for a few games at Skirmish on Saturday if covid allows. Failing that I'll try get up to Matlock instead and give it a whirl once I've tested my VSR out in the morning.
