  1. Didnt know there was an adjustable nozzle for the 249. Do you have a link to where I can get one myself?
  2. Ran my one today for the first time, after hearing back from SWIT airsoft that they are going to order replacement parts for the bits that border force broke, rather than requiring me to ship the gun back to them as I thought they might ask. Ran mine with the gas box mag, but found that the clip was rather tight and needed adjustment to allow the box to fit without forcing it on. Firing the gun drew quite a lot of admiring looks and compliments, particularly with the added features of a suppressor with a smoke generator and a tracer unit fitted. I will be stripping it down and giving it a good clean and lubrication over the next couple of days. One issue i do need to look at is perhaps replacing the nozzle as it was firing initially at 1.5j on .28s and VORSK gas. Regassed with nuprol 2.0 and fired a few mags through it and the power dropped down to just below the limit, and I rechronoed a couple of times through the day and it remained below the limit but too close for comfort. One other issue I need to work out... what's the best way to empy the gas tanks between game days? As unlike a standard mag, there's no release valve to manually vent the excess gas Not Had that issue with my one (yet), but it will be keeping an eye on it.
  3. also going to echo the comments above, reforger is a great site. last week we played in the village all morning, then moved to checkpoint charlie, runway and then finally heartbreak ridge on the map below (copied from their website). so there is still plenty of the site to explore. everyone was informed at the briefing that we would be out in the game area all day, returning at lunch time, so we were all given the option of putting a small bag with some spare ammo/gas etc into the boot of a land rover that followed us to the game areas to allow us to rearm quickly between games rather than walk back and forth from the safe zone each time. village is a relatively large grouping of buildings in the base of a ravine, so as mentioned above, getting onto the ridgeline offers a good vantage point. checkpoint charlie was where we played a kind of tug-of-war game, where each team had to push a flag toward the enemy respawn. personally i felt this area became too bogged down with everyone fighting over one main path for the flag, so i focussed on trying to flank around and take out enemies from the side as much as i could and ended up playing cat and mouse with the enemy snipers in the woods surrounding the path. the "runway" at this time of year has quite long grass growing across the field, so there is plenty of cover for anyone moving towards the objective at the crashed airplane. i didnt see much of the surrounding area as i had dug into a fox hole to defend the plane and didnt move around much. also didnt realise at the time that there were two downed planes on the site with only half the site explored on my visit, i will definately be returning in the near future in hopes of visiting the rest of the site.
  4. tell that to my overflowing sideboard and collapsing chest of drawers full of gun cases accessories, mags ammo etc etc... =P
  5. yeah, the same issue we all have... never enough guns... and then never enough space to store all of these guns...
  6. car is loaded ready to head down tomorrow morning. and as said in other threads, i wont be bringing my new toy, due to it being broken by customs inspectors
  7. If you do, I hope you have better luck than I did. As I posted in the "what have you bought" thread earlier in the week, I recieved my m249 and gas box mag from SWIT, only to find that some incompetent customs inspector has snapped the front sight off the gun and used a screwdriver to break off the end plate of the box mag, rather than just releasing the securing tabs I was hoping to run mine this weekend, but I will be unable to do so as I may be required to ship it back to SWIT as part of their claims process.
  8. thank you. im currently drafting an email now. probably wont send it tonight, as i am so angry and want to review the email in a calmer frame of mind, as i dont have the luxury of a second pair of eyes to review the email tonight
  9. currently trawling the gov website to try and find out who i need to complain to, then figure it out from there also going to be firing emails to VFC and SWIT to find out if i can get replacement parts.
  10. well, i should be happy right now... finally got my VFC M249 from SWIT airsoft delivered by UPS, but found the customs monkeys have got to it... boxes had been unwrapped, but then thrown back together with just a cross of border force tape holding the wrappings together and most of the inner boxes exposed due to the bubble wrap being hastily thrown around them first parcel contained the M249 and spare mags, every box and bag roughly opened, cardboard packing "frames" clearly disturbed. opened the bag to withdraw the gun, and found the front sight has been broken off. two of the tabs of the dovetail broken off and all the bits thrown in the bag. second parcel contained the external gas tank, again opened. this time the monkeys have used a screwdriver or something similar to pry off the end plate of the box to get to the inside (rather than opening it up using the two plastic tabs that hook onto the pegs on the rest of the box) the end result was that the plastic cover plate has been split in two different places. my brand new gun and its been broken by some incompetent, useless, clumsy customs monkey, i am FUCKING LIVID!!!! P.S @Skullchewer, this was the new toy i was teasing about bringing on sunday... but due to the damage i dont know if i will be bringing it now =/
  11. Welcome to the Webley gang Is it a WELL or a Wingun?
  12. well, i could tell you... or you can wait and see =P
  13. forgot to add the other day, but i have booked a ticket, so i will see you guys next week and if UPS gets their finger out of their arse, i will have my new toy to play with
  14. Parcel arrived with some goodies from airsoftworld - box of 6x TAG smoke grenades - 2× pots .36g ASG BBs - 2× Mlok to picatiny rail adapters (to replace knackered chineseum ones on my tippmann) And a conceal carry holster for my TM LCPII and stay tuned, because if the tracking data is to be believed, I may have another update tomorrow with even more kit
  15. And I have had an email this morning... My 249 is on the way from Taiwan. UPS estimates delivery on Friday, but I can almost guarantee It will be delayed in customs How you doing over there grandad.. XD
  16. ah, i think i know the one you mean. (*edit* this one right? https://www.vanguardsolutions.nl/?v=79cba1185463 ) yeah thats a bit on the expensive side... especially if the G&G ones will do the job just as well. anyone asks for speedloader recommendations, i will recommend those ones every day of the week
  17. nope, Valkyrie. they were my preferred BBs, but apparently due to a number of issues, they have decided to cease trading, as i was informed on my last visit to onlyairsoft (my preferred brick and mortar airsoft shop) TBH i rarely eat at sites, aside from maybe a chocolate bar, in order to avoid getting cramp/stitch while running around in the afternoons.
  18. any details on what loader that may be? would be good to be able to get extra rounds in each mag to keep me in the fight for longer between reloads still going to try with the G&G speedloaders when the mags arrive, but it would be good to know what other speedloader i may need to look at in case they dont work. (as i said above, the G&G speedloaders are able to overcome the tension on an EPM1 mag unlike other soeedloaders, so at this point i dont see why they wouldnt work)
  19. I have seen some sources claiming 175 rounds per mag, and pics even show the mags have round count markers all the way to 175... Guessing it will be a similar case to the PTS EPM1 mags, where spring needs breaking in or you need a strong speed loader. (Bit of a side note, but I that is the case, then i use G&G pistol sized speed loaders to fill my PTS mags, and they are bomb proof, surviving for 2 years at this point, when other cheap speed loaders would shatter under the strain) I'm not so convinced that it will be so easy to convert the gun to an external gas and BB combined box mag (and I don't see any other way of feeding gas other than from a combined mag without HPA lines involved) Not without significant mods.
  20. Duly noted, I shall make sure to bring a reasonable sized "consumables" bag. Which reminds me.. I need to find a new supplier for my BBs as my preferred supplier has aparrantly closed shop =,(
  21. @Dan Robinson glad you enjoyed the battlesim at redcon. everyone at RIFT are great guys and girls, who do know their stuff and actively work to deal with any issues raised to them by players, and last time i met Kostas he had a good laugh together. i have got my eyes open for the october event, so maybe we will bump into each other then. (i havent been airsoft for a few months so im a bit out of the loop, is that a shift your rifts or a different event?)
  22. reforger is on a list of "sites to try" i have been compiling based on recomendations... and that weekend is my weekend off work.. so it looks like we may be meeting up in a couple of weeks
  23. thats a new one pretty much this, though i generally refrain from hosing anyone to avoid escalating things too much. if i hit someone and they dont take it, then i just keep shooting until they get the hint, or i get shot, then i go to respawn via the nearest marshal to let them know and i encourage other players to also report cheats rather than rage at them. (this happened to me once where i was using my lee enfield. shot a guy several times who kept responding by moving further and further down an earth bank and tried to hide behind a tree. this was witnessed and confirmed by another player, so i just did a "mad minute" and the guy finally took the hint)
  24. will probably wait until i have the gun in hand and then order the para stock, either from the link @mightyjebus linked, or any UK based shops that subsequently list the parts. the main part im looking for though will be the CO2 box mag power source... because it will be easier to store a box of 88g CO2 bulbs than a crate of green gas. probably cheaper to run too depending on how long the gas/CO2 lasts when being fired
