The fact they don’t is possibly largely the reason they’ve been so stable and maintained such a good reputation throughout. Involving others tends to lead to having to adjust things, it’s seems that they’ve got their production triangle (quality, time and cost... you can only pick two that you want, something always has to give) set in terms of quality and cost being their choices. They’re more than happy to concede time to ensure their products release at a consistent quality and I imagine with consistent costs. Once others become involved that risks being upset, which I’d estimate simply isn’t worth it. If it ain’t broke... Edit: The general concept of production triangles is pretty dated nowadays, but the principles are still pretty applicable.

Largely bolts on to what @Crazy_Crystal said. Weighing up the costs of R&D and production with the demand, Marui only care about the Japanese market. If the various AR iterations of the MWS continue to sell like hot cakes there isn't much of a need for them to deviate and start pumping those sunk costs into something similar. I'm honestly surpised the AK appeared as quickly as it did, which might sound like madness given the gap between the AR MWS coming out and the announcement of the AK. Such a weirdly unique company, many get burned at the stake because they don't ship to certain countries while Marui trudge along as if the rest of the world literally doesn't exist. Side note, that's not to say I wouldn't love to see other variants... just can't see it happening any time soon.

I've been importing various airsoft things from all over the globe for years, this is absolutely a first. I'm am so wildly confused by both how this is at all necessary, and which stage of import my order is actually at. Tracking seemed to suggest all the customs stuff was out of the way and I'm awaiting it to head to my local depot and out to me, would appear to not be the case. Very much looking forward to receiving what I'll assume at this point is a ravaged parcel with shit all over the place. Wonderful. Not that it changes my thoughts on how dumb this is, but the things they wanted to see links for are the RIF itself, an enchanced AK safety lever and some AK midcaps. I can only assume it's been ripped open and they want to get a better idea of what the things in it are. Intrigued to see how this plays out.

Aesthetically I like both OG RIS rails and M-Lok (can’t stand KeyMod for no other reason than I can’t look at it without thinking of IKEA). In practice I’d find it hard to come back from M-Lok having used it, the amount of weight it shaves off the front end is crazy. The IUR is such a weird rail to me, I think it looks absolutely vile (which may well be looking at it with my new M-Lok tinted lenses). The reason I say it’s weird is because I love the SAI GRY rail, and they’re such similar rails. Alas, we like what we like 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Your RIF is an AR with a different set of receivers on it. And based on prior posts, they largely serve to make it heavy (what superb trait for said ‘specialised platform’). And I’m not here for a dick measuring contest, I’m just here in an attempt to ensure no one reads your drivel and falls into the trap that it has any foundation in fact.

No, the fact everything you’re saying only serves to spread misinformation is doing that for you. Your ‘specialised platform’ is a version 2 gearbox (with a proprietary tappet plate) and a 6.05 217mm inner barrel, all wrapped up to make it not look entirely like an AR outside... while being precisely that on the inside. You’ve made it very clear you think you know better, so you go ahead and do whatever suits you best. P.S. The Mk23 doesn’t have good range and accuracy ‘for a pistol’, it has good range and accuracy ‘for an airsoft replica’.

The ‘science of airsoft’ when it comes to optimisation ultimately lands with volume matching to make sure that little cushion of air of shoves your BB along is Bob on, or as close as you can get, for the weight of BB you’re using. There’s a whole lot of snake oil and horse shit out there in regard to what a longer barrel actually does and I was simply trying to offer some advice because your initial post stated you were ‘under the assumption’ that you might have to buy a different RIF to play in the woods. Gauging the tone as best I can it seems like somehow you’ve taken offence to that, so I’ll go ahead and exit the conversation there at the risk of ‘flexing my knowledge’ too much again.

The inner barrel is 217mm, so it’s really not far off what many folks run to great effect in an AR replica of some description. If you were that worried you could just as easily swap the inner barrel out for something a bit longer and run a barrel extension or suppressor to cover the bit protruding from the end of the outer barrel. Don’t get me wrong, if you simply want a different/new RIF for whatever reason then go nuts. But feeling you have to, to be able to compete outdoors is entirely not the case.

Pretty much, I tend to shoot for between 230-250mm barrel length wise on a standard 'battle rifle' whatever form that may take. 285mm being the longest I'd look at, with that being a fairly standard length for an AR with a 10" outer barrel. I personally prefer a shorter RIF which probably has a lot to do with my preferences. As always, personal preferences for what you use should trump pretty much everything else. But I can say from experience that I've seen very little difference (if any) between a 230mm barrel versus a 285mm, in some anecdotal instances I might even go as far as to say I've had the shorter 'out performing' the longer... but I have no science to back that up and the aforementioned bias could dictate that statement. And there are far too many contributing factors that go into everything singing together to ever conclude that a shorter barrel is definitively better. TLDR - @SLACK_JAW You do you hun.

Truthfully it may well be going of for the folks at Eagle6 to do, I'd rather pay someone with experience of doing it right than potentially bodge it myself and wind up having to source (and foot the bill for) more parts. Also spares me the burden of the rewiring and what not, this is my first AEG in years so as much as I'll be looking to figure out how to do the tech work myself I'm more inclined to do that on RIFs without such a high price tag. But yeah, these days I'd always go genuine article over repro stuff. Just a personal preference, nothing against folks that opt for the repro kit. One of the biggest fallacies in airsoft is that all repro kit is bad... equally matching that is that all repro kit is good. Very much a case by case basis, but sorting the good from the bad will often wind up costing you as much as it would have to just buy the genuine stuff.

Yessir. In the grand scheme of stocks there are ones I definitely prefer over the CTR (BCM Gunfighter and B5 Systems), but it seems hard to beat in terms of a battery solution for the NGRS.

North West Custom Parts, I will note that the payment process is a little odd. You add to your cart, complete the order and then do a bank transfer to the chap that runs the shop. I was cautious at first but I've ordered a few stocks from him and they've all arrived in good time. Edit: For clarity, the stock was from NWCP, the extended buttpad and PTS grip from Firesupport and the sling and magpuls from Tactical Kit.

A few bits for my NGRS and another Ferro Slingster, this one in M81. I hate that fall for such marketing tactics as ‘limited editions’, but I needed a sling for the AKSU and find M81 hard to resist at the best of times.

If you like your trousers tucked into your boots, then tuck your trousers into your boots. Concur with flipping the over/under of your sling around, among other things which are generally more comfortable when shooting it’ll likely make the gnu sit a bit nicer when switching to the pistol. Curious to know which is your leading leg when taking a knee, looks to be a lot going on with mags on your belt which may well get in your in practice (though it may well be sitting high enough to not be an issue, which potentially leads to your PC getting in the way of your belt draw but that’s not worth digging into here). As with the whole tucking in trousers thing, if it works for you, run with it.

Don't know if it counts for much but I have just had an email saying words to the effect of 'Hi, you have a parcel coming tomorrow which requires a signature'. As for travelling to local depots, the majority of that tends to happen overnight so it's certainly not out of the question. Ultimately I'm not particularly arsed either way, takes as long as it takes, but I'm aware others are significantly more bothered for various reasons.
