And you’re right. It’s super lucky that it’s just the bolt and not the thread in the body of the mag. Otherwise they’d be an even bigger waste of cash! Got a piccie of your “capa” in its current guise?

I don’t know how many he’s got coming in on this shipment, but he’s got a 2011 Adv frame in black for me in the batch of stuff that’s stuck in customs. He’s told me the AM hops are out for a while. Potential production run after CNY fingers crossed for next week for his stuff to be released from Customs Hes a great guy, I hope his house move goes smoothly

oof, explosive update on the Guarder mags... The Baseplate screw insn't made from the strongest stuff. Filling one of the mags, the baseplate blew straight off the magazine body taking the nozzle from the bottle with it! One quick run outside with a quickly depressurizing can of NP4.0 later, it looks like the thread on the bolt completely gave out. Very exciting stuff, very loud bang.

The flesh is weak I was so taken with the Infinity slide/parts bin build that I’ve ordered a black trigger and Infinity magwell from Hicapa hub.
-
(Looks around the room to check for hamster) They can’t ban both of us

Primary Adaptor?! Careful Hamster follows this thread and I’m already skirting execution for heresy of the highest order.

They are. I picked up three Guarder bodies as an experiment. Added Guarder outlet valves and 9Ball routers. Postives • Very lightweight. You can really feel the difference. • Look cool • Guarder bottoms are gas-tight and have silent fill inlet valves Negatives • there seems to be a tiny gap where the feed lips sit and every now and again the bb’s fail to feed. I’m going to scratch my chin for a while and then fill in the gap with some JB weld. So in summary, if you’re after fancy, lightweight mags that don’t feed properly they’re brilliant Im sure I can get them feeding but I feel like I shouldn’t have to for the asking price

Parts bin special...

Incredibly professional bloke. He’s even offered to replace the receiver if he knackers it! Assuming this all goes to plan, I’m definitely going to be asking him to have a crack at some other stuff for me. I’ll definitely ask him if he’s open to more jobs from this crowd, as you say it could be a decent earner for him. Seeing the sample, I’m really looking forwards to progressing this. Once the engraver is finished, Mark at FMJUK is next and that deep, dark blue Cerakote is going to look sexy as hell!

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Deep down, all I really want is for Luke to call me a C£&t when I get to play at the new Zed adventures site -
The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Well that escalated quickly... Was browsing Eliteshooting and emailed Mike for a 0.40S&W 5.1 barrel. Ended getting another TM 5.1 frame and a black Infinity slide -
The engraver has some mock-ups for me on Alu sheet before going to town on the actual receiver. Interestingly, he phoned me earlier to ask me to bring him some form of letter to accept any legal culpability of him working on the receiver. His concern lay in someone “me” trying to make a toy gun more realistic and the potential for disaster that had in the world at large. Hands up, good guy for being careful! I’m seeing him in the morning to give him a waiver and show him some details of my local site, UKARA, have a waffle about what Airsoft is etc if anyone has seen the French comedy “diner du contes” you’ll know what he’s in for

Duct tape must have cost something too?

Cheers Steve, Your black and gold Infinity looks smart as! I’ve gone Gold slide, gold controls and black everything else for my BC4.3, what did you go for?
-
There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with the Nov brand but it’s basically just externally tweaked OEM stuff sold at a premium price with fairly poor quality control and wildly varying customer support. Even after being disappointed by the products, I’m still amazed by Chris as a sales person. Snow to an Eskimo as they say!

Bugger me! Got bored two nights ago and bought some stuff from AIP, namely a couple of hop units and guide rods. Theyve already landed at Heathrow

Too right! Yours has been one of those voices over the years that’s clearly HAD all the issues as opposed to having read something 3rd hand on the internet. Advice like that is always priceless and you and sittingduck are largely to thank for the fact that my wankerguns actually work. GBB’s though, this is new to me. The brands are different and the informed are far more difficult to find. It seems funny at this point that the part that works reliably is the same that shipped originally with the Novristch!

God this rabbit hole goes deep. So, Guarder parts aren’t quite the high-tolerance parts I had imagined. Three mags with Guarder feed lips have occasional feed issues with two Bb’s wedging themselves at the base of the lip. I’ve stuck a KJ lip in and voila, problem solved. At £3.79 a go for the KJW’s I can’t be bothered to sort the Guarder ones out. Hopefully, Kyle at HCH will have an Advanced Frame for me at some point in the next couple of weeks so I’ve got something new to play with

There’s a good rule of thumb on this forum worth sticking to - If it’s your only pew, leave it alone. If you’ve got a few bits and pieces, why not have a crack at it. The ICS L85 gearbox is a piece of cake to work on all controls are housed externally and the spring can be inserted after closing the box. The variable spring tension system makes fine tuning the power easy as pie, just make sure you’ve got a chronograph to check output. The receiver has bags of space for a rewire straight from motor to fore grip and the connection to the trigger contacts is a standard 2.8mm spade (might be a 4mm, been a while) so it’s almost perfectly suited to a Gate nano/merf/warfet. The task gets more complex the higher the rof you want to achieve. The forum’s other rule of twenty is plenty neatly avoids almost all of the issues with high speed builds self destructing, although if you want to pursue a true wanker gun build SittingDuck is a seemingly bottomless source of wisdom on how to unfuck things If you just want to nudge the ROF up a bit, you may find that using 11.1v does just that. If you want a bit more, the next place to investigate would either be motor or gearset. The ICS motor pinions always had a tendency to not play particularly well with others so you may have to change both. The ICS compression parts (piston head/cylinder/cylinder head/nozzle) were excellent in terms of seal and shouldn’t need any more than lubricant to work very well. What’s the ideal outcome?

Just the one

With my wallet well and truly battered, here are the fruits of my labour. The Novristch is now sporting an Airsoft masterpiece Mega lightweight slide, short stroke kit and side mounted RMR. It’s quick, very quick The Limcat has been a bit of fun and is a scratchbuild. Both are finished in tungsten grey accents with grey Airsoft masterpiece slides Just to add, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’ve felt lucky to have not only the incredible knowledge base of you toxic bastards at my disposal, but also the frank and impartial advice of Mike (http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk)and Kyle (https://hicapahub.co.uk) neither of whom mince words or stock anything they wouldn’t use in a build. Better see if anything is on the way for the Battlecat 4.3 that I’m making next...

Parts back from FMJUK, I think I can finally call these two HiCapas finished!
-
TOXIC!!! (are we still doing this?)

But now when you come to sell, it's had two custom paintjobs. One at Patrolbase and one out back here with a can of Krylon. God knows how many "airsmiths" have been involved now. £500?
