  1. Sucks that it got held, I just had a RIF imported from Hong Kong via UPS with no issues (bar UPS being incompetent as usual). It definitely helped that the retailer (WGC) did all the paperwork correctly and put my UKARA both on the box and in the address field.

Although I'd rather deal with a couple days delay due to UPS being morons than it being held for sure.

None of my sites are on the list 😭

I know the staff at my regular site think he's a dickhead, I hope that means they're one of the sites that haven't made the ban public.

theres  a few sites I know that have in effect banned him and aren't on that list. Most of it comes down to not wanting the bad press, which is understandable

WGC Shop are very good as well. JKArmy are good.  Just try to avoid anyone who uses UPS to ship as they are fucking awful.  I usually go with EMS as its Parcelforce that handles them this end and to date not had any issues with them other than taking a while recently to charge me for my FAL.

I spoke to WGC yesterday, they'll only ship RIFs UPS :(

Have you used any of the French stores?

I'll have a look see and then make a decision

    Thanks for the input 👍

ive personally used Airsoft Entrepot to import a RIF. they were very helpful and stuck my UKARA on the box when i requested. took under a week to arrive (this was a few  months ago)

Hey folks,I'm wanting to buy a rif from JKArmy in Japan.

Hoping for some advice before I take the plunge.

Should I email them to check on stock?

Are they reliable with their shipping and tracking?

Will I have to pay HM Coustoms when my order reaches old blighty?

    Thanks for your time

JKArmy are in Hong Kong not Japan.

They have a pretty good process for buying RIFs into the UK, even a dedicated field to stick your UKARA

they will declare the package's value correctly so you'll most likely have to pay VAT and a handling charge when it gets here

also what do you plan on buying? might be able to help further

I'm after a VFC BCM,just can't seem to find them anywhere in the UK

Which is a bugger as I'd rather support a business here even if it cost more.

Is there a way to contact the border patrol and let them know what my package is and when its coming?

Thanks again to you both for your time honestly it really does help 👍👍

I believe a couple airsoft stores in France have them in stock, along with the BCM mags

How good an optic do you need for slinging plastic out to 50m, when the slightest breath of wind will produce more of a deflection than the cheapest Chinesium red dot? 🤔

lmao this is airsoft. you dont need anything, its all superficial :D

i personally use real steel optics (inc vortex) for the quality, warranty, and value retention

but regardless of anything it's a good optic.

    I know you didn't, I was asking a question.

my bad, assumed it was rhetorical.

iirc the UH-1 is superior to older eotechs and on par with the EXPS 3.0. i dont think £800 for the uh-1 is justifiable though

  7. 17 hours ago, Groot said:

Why would anyone pay that for a Vortex. You can get an Aimpoint or Eotech for the same money or better yet a Holosun

Insanity. Its an ugly fucking scope too

the UH-1 is a great optic to be fair. however at £800 its a bit overpriced. at their old retail i think they were good value

its a holographic sight if youre not aware

Thanks for your replies so far. Interesting that someone mentioned the AAP01 as that's one of the few other pistols I'd consider as they appear rather nice and have heard a multitude of good things regarding them so that's an option too.

the aap is probably the best value pistol available, and its super versatile with a mountain of options available (metal uppers, carbine kits, etc). on top of that its mainly glock internals so already a good existing base of parts to use

their only downside is the hammers can go after a few thousand rounds but easily replaceable with a steel hammer

  9. On the TM MP7 GBB there’s definitely somewhat significant resistance putting a mag in with the bolt in battery; which is annoying because you can’t manually lock the bolt back

Actually causing damage though? Long as you’re not slamming it in with insane amounts of force, can’t see it being an issue

That's me, anyway.  It may be the case that most buyers are happy paying F&F / bank transfer.  I'd be fascinated to know, ideally from a prolific seller who doesn't have a clown in this fight.

personally when selling stuff i will ask for F&F. i would say 90% of people are ok with it off the bat, the remainder are happy to go ahead after i show them the years worth of feedback on multiple platforms i have

Personally, I try not to piss off sellers, since I'm essentially relying on your goodwill to post the thing off at all.

exactly this. the main reason people will pay fees, which is ridiculous really as that is effectively extortion

  11. Seems to be a lot of misconception in here that the buyer pays the fees for the protection of G&S, which is not what the fee is for. It’s just a transaction fee that should be absorbed by the seller

imo charging the buyer fees is a dick move in any circumstance. I’m happy to cover postage, but don’t act like bloody Ticketmaster
