I have tbh I'm now running my L85 and L86 without any form of optics.

If you excuse the optic on my AFV in the pic I now run it without anything. I've had a mock surpressor added and that hides a 360mm inner barrel. Having the mock surpressor gives me the length I need to aim with.

The L86 is even easier to aim with, as the inner barrel is a beast at nearly 600mm and that's hidden by the outter and again I just use the end of the barrel to aim with.

When I was using the red dot though I used the riser as it let me move the unit up and away from my eye. Being far sighted I just needed it moved away a bit, but I was able to get the red dot adjusted to a point it was allowing me to put a BB on target at around 60 meters.

It's such a trade off though, as the G&G version is tbh the best of the bunch out there.

I love my L86, but ICS put this god awful hop unit in it and you can't change it. Well you can, if you buy English Kiwi one which I did but just couldn't dial it in to get it to a point it was consistent enough to use it.

So I'm back with the ICS unit, but it is the weakest part of my build.

The new Ares L85 A3 isn't great, I'm mates with a well known tech who was asked to upgrade one from new and said it was probably one of the worst bits of kit his worked on.

So my hope is I can have a bit of flesh taken out of the magwell, which will let me use my Lonex mags.

Just wondering has anyone modified their magwell?

I want to use My Lonex flash mags in my G&G L85, but it's a struggle to get them in or pull them out after you get one in.

So I wondered if anyone else has had this issue and if so what you did to get your mags to fit your magwell.

TommoThomson reacted to Zigey in G&G L85 AFV dovetail rail removal
I have an L85 Afv that I picked up second hand and while going through the process of repainting I removed that rail.
The removed rail can be seen in the middle of this mess, it has two locating studs that are held in by two screws.

Hope this helps, I don't really have any experience converting the rail to anything else but with a drill and tap I'm sure it can be done.

Used mine twice. First time flawless, second time broke. Pull the cable to feed the BB's, take a couple of shots and it looses all tension. Admittedly I haven't had it in bits yet but a bit gutted as it wasn't cheap!

They work well, I own 5 or 6 at this point. I only would recommend the G&P Fast Attack Type drums over them. The pressure switch on the G&Ps is far easier to use on a bullpup like the L86 over the button (or flash winder) on the ACs and seems to feed more BBs/sec/ Also, the G&P is slightly taller - meaning itll fit more guns. Its the only drum to fit the 416 series Ive found so far.

The B6AC is very good (I have one too) but becoming hard to find.

Have  a look at one of their latest models around the same price range: SkyRC S60

Isdt and skyrc are the chargers I use. They have a mix of models to suit budget and desired spec/setup.
Ive used them for many years on airsoft, rc crawlers and fpv quads and they have never missed a beat.

Get another Imax B6AC, and then the mini hooked up to a motorbike battery if you need to charge at a site 👍

(I've both, and someone at two sites I go to has a big Stanley Fatmax toolbox which he keeps his motorbike battery and charger in and has also an inverter in it with a standard three pin power outlet - Edit: To clarify it's all mounted in the toolbox, it's really well done, and the three pin outlet is on the outside)

I'm using it as in A, I only just fitted it back to my L85 as it had to be rebuilt as it wasn't well 🤣

The genuine sling is a double point fitted sling, which you can undo the clip and turn it into a sort of single point. I think something like the sling catch Lozart mentioned could be the answer though.

I see that, after I bought it but what's it a rebrand of he didn't say so I could stock up on the cheap ones 😂

Also my FPS and joules are sitting perfectly after the rebuild, I'm a tad chuffed tbh 😎

    Awesome, thanks buddy 😎

Noooooo, don't say that take it back, take it backkkkkkkk 😂

If I can get a pinion gear puller I can put a new one on my 30k Krytac motor, which is ok and just needs a new pinion gear.

An we don't want that, it's bad enough I've damaged gers and piston teeth we don't want to ruin anything else that's for sure
