  1. Here is one of the chunks Luke posted about the whole thing. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/197sBsmGQP/ After this they did start dealing with warrenty and sales in the uk for all the remaining warhead stock I believe but this is one of the inciting incidents.
  2. Well as promised I grabbed someone elses impulse buy. Just took a little longer than I expected. First impressions are it is fairly light. At least until I slapped the zenit stuff on it. Even now my tokyo marui akm with a steel kit on it is a fair whack heavier than this is. The finish is a thick plasticky paint to the point that I had had to check with a magnet to sooth my paranoia of being bunged a cheap ak in a vfc box XD. I took apart the mag and greased as shown in the explosive enterprises video and the kick is very nice. Hop performs great right away without ever touching it. Im getting exactly the same peening on the left side of the bolt carrier as shown in the EE video so they haven't changed anything there. The hammer barely seems to move on firing. It never touches the back of the carrier. It almost reminds me of an mws hammer moving just enough to press the valve. All feels solid and im more of a shooter and tinkerer than a collector so the small inaccuracies dont bother me. Snagged 3 more mags in a sale and waiting for them to arrive. Aeg zenit handguard went on but required some filing around where it sits in the handguard retainer, side rail went on no problem.
  3. I tend to get aliexpress optics a lot in the sort of mid range and Ive not yet had one damaged by being run on a gbbr but that is obviously partly good luck in the qc lottery. The only optic ive had trouble with was an old cmore like this which lost zero a lot and the battery bounced out of place. All of the others I have used have far more solid mounting solutions. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41yhdJbGKvL.jpg It also depends a lot on the gun. Id feel fairly happy mounting nearly anything on my tokyo marui gbbrs as they have fairly soft impulses overall but Id go for something a bit more solid on my vfc's
  4. Ordered a set of 6 mws mags from japan and just been informed customs have seized them as dangerous goods. Luckily got a full refund but what the hell?

Ive not actually got a notice from customs or anything yet. If I get one I will appeal it. The tracking just shows it as having been sitting in a fedex facility for a week and when I asked the seller they just said "Siezed as dangerous goods" and sent me a refund.

Give FedEx a call. They'll have someone you can actually speak to. There's no reason for them to be classified as dangerous foodsy and seized.

Sadly this happens occasionally - not because they think that the mags are real and can hold rounds - but more likely cos of the gas nature of them.  This is why all gas mags should be sent with the valves removed.

  5. Got a tm desert eagle and wanted to mount a red dot more modern than the traditional options. Made this little scope base to fit my knockoff aimpoint acro and cut the top off a cheap ammomax holster to fit it. Thinking of making a variant to fit aimpoint micro style sights and rmrs. Any other sorts people would like to see?
  6. Currently mine has the stock barrel still in it but from the end of the threads on the outer it adds maybe 50mm, 40mm of useable space if you wanted a longer inner. Of course now its done I can make it longer or shorter. I mainly did this to give me more room to hang onto it as a foregrip on the original handguard was cramped.
  7. Finalized the handguard. Went back to the thicker suppressor so the side mlok is truly useless now. The price paid for aesthetics.
  8. First prototype handguard. Pretty happy with the overall look but ive smoothed out the transition up to the main body of the gun a bit for the next version
  9. So I really like the look of some of the metal 3d printed flow through suppressors and I needed a longer barrel and handguard setup for the ghm 9 I picked up cheap. As much as the integrally suppresed kit lambda sells does look cool it kinda ruins the gun for me because it makes it so much longer. So this suppressor will be the base for me to make something a little more compact. Starting on the handguard to go over it tonight. This one in particular sleeves over the original barrel. Once I have the design finished I may make one to go on other airsoft guns and slap it up for sale somewhere.
  10. So I started buying in chicom rigs and stuff as some of you may have noticed but this was all a ploy so I could get them myself cheaper XD. So ive started modding this one to use with my vfc m16a1 and xm177. Foam spacers in the bottom of the pouch so the mag sits right and I made some tabs to close the pouch out of my leatherworking scraps. As much as the original toggles are cool I dont trust them to hold my £40 gas mags. I didn't bother with neat as you can probably tell but It is plenty strong. Having an industrial leatherwork sewing machine on hand is fun XD. Im considering swapping a grenade pouch out for a holster but I'm not sure what to do with the other. Any ideas?
  11. Anyone else having speed issues with the site? On mobile it loads in seconds but on desktop its taking a good minute to load a page. It only seems to be this site too.

Yes, I have noticed some pages fail to load on PC and have to reload a page, sometimes a few times.

  12. I used to run carriers but these days if im running an lmg I just use a belt and if im running any of my rifles I have a selection of super cheap chest rigs and one nicer one for if I ever decide to go on a milsim. I mostly run stuff like chicom repros from china because at £15 each with a bit of sewing I can have one for each type of mag and they are reasonably nice bits of kit.
  13. Thanks. Ill have a look at it. The vfc stuff does use standard gbb barrels but im more looking for something that works right now rather than a top of the line upgrade. The site I go to is 90% dense woodland so I have never needed the best of the best XD appreciate the suggestion though. I probably should have put a budget on the post
  14. So im much more of a repairer than an upgrader and my vfc m16 has been rather inconsistent with maybe half the shots going lovely and straight and the others kicking up or down quite heavily. Ive tried various different hop rubbers and setups with the only part ive not changed out being the inner barrel. I tried to swap it for a zci 409mm tightbore but the company sent me an aeg barrel by mistake and now I cant find the longer zci barrels in stock anywhere. That would normally be my go to so any recommendations? For a full length m16 I should be able to manage up to a 440mm barrel.
  15. I know there were issues with the gen 1 kits. After some use the weight of the bolt and the spring would cause the steel piston they came with to torque upwards. This would wreck the piston rails in the gearbox and cause damage to the cylinder. I know there was a gen 2 but I have no idea what they changed in that.
  16. I have a bunch of that extended one with the one piece feed lips. Its for an m93r made originally by kj works for a company called SI. They are rare as rocking horse shit but Hfc do make a clone of it so it could be a mag from either of those. Could you grab a picture of the valve assembly on the back of the other one? Looks to be a hi capa mag but cant tell what sort.
  17. Thanks! I just grabbed a 249 surplus sling. Ill see how that does for me and grab one of those if its no good.
  18. Just nabbed a mimimi sling though its a desert one so it will need some spray paint. The gpmg slings seem to be impossible to find for under £40 but the minimi one was £13 posted so thanks!
  19. So for a long time my a&k pkm was my most used gun. I loved it but I hit a point where I desperately needed money to buy stock for my business. And so it was sold. I did miss it a lot and recently things have gotten more stable. Then this lct full steel pkp popped up and here we are. Makes me glad ive been working out. Unfortunately my normal rifle slings are making unhappy noises at me under the 11kg (not including the handguard on it and the optic I will be putting on it) if anyone has a a recommendation for a good padded sling id be happy to hear them as I intend to run this a lot.
  20. depends on what sort of realism you want. Tokyo marui mws is realistic in function and handling but not in internals It is however the best performing stock. Vfc (specifically their gen 3 rifles) are very good as well but can take a little bit of work to get as good as the mws. However they have realistically shaped internals, kick a little harder, feel a little nicer. I used to run mws rifles but I found I liked classic integral carry handle rifles more than anything modern and a vfc m16 + a set of mags worked out cheaper than converting an mws into a classic rifle on its own.
  21. But the government previously allowed commercial sales of the type 89 which was also a training aid. Its practically free advertising for recruitment. There is nothing special or secret about the type 20 so what would be the reason for restricting a toy version of it?
  22. I find it unlikely that they wont do the Japanese army rifle and if an airsoft company has been contracted to make one type of training rifle and its not an airsoft gun then its pretty likely an airsoft gun will be coming. I imagine that takes a little longer to develop than a lump of rubber though
  23. It appears we may have been talking at cross purposes. I am talking about potential airsoft guns not the rubber rifle itself. I brought that up because the fact they have made the rubber rifle just ties in with the fact they are probably making the airsoft versions for the army and thus for commercial sale as well reasonably soon. Sorry about that. Thought you were talking about the type 20 in general rather than specifically the rubber one.
  24. Since it is the jsdf service rifle I think it likely it goes the same way as the type 89 and they do both. They never did an ngrs version of that though for whatever reason.
  25. Here we go. from the marui website Percussion cap: to further enhance the realism of the M1851, brass (non-exploding) percussion caps have been added. The M1851 sits between the flintlock and the modern revolver. Fulminate percussion caps were placed on the cylinder to fire the bullets (called balls). Tokyo Marui wanted to fully replicate this feature. Any source on where you heard that because I cannot think of a single reason why that would be the case and seriously doubt it.
