  1. Now they are saying on the social media page that the KA Fal will be out in later 2021 or early 2022. Suppose time will tell...
  2. To each their own, https://www.kingarms-store.com/products/black-mamba-limited-edition
  3. King Arms said in 2019 that they would be re-releasing the Fal line in 2020. Well Covid hit and the release date was pushed back into the end of that year. It was then given as early 2021. Since then info has been fairly scarce, there was then a social media post claiming it would now be 2022. On the other hand without any particular fanfare the company's Galil ARM showed up restocked at WGC shop recently so there may still be hope. VFC have a FN FAL (VFC LAR model)which they are claiming will be out in September or October, it's a GBBR so might reduce the usefulness. The company has released GBBR and AEG models of the same type in the past like the HK 416. So if it sells well or they get enough feedback it they might pursue it in electric form. Other companies might opt to release a version. G&G have their Type 64 and LCT have their extensive G3 range. So one of them might get brave and decide to go down the FAL route. At the moment if you go to the LCT facebook page they have a questionnaire that they are requesting people fill out. One of the questions is what one replica would you like the company to produce. A couple of hundred airsofters suggesting a FN FAL might help draw their attention to it. One last point is a successful launch of VFC LAR might finally nudge King Arms to re-release their bloody FAL. At the moment they seem content to be cranking out pistol calibre M4 GBBRs and M1 carbine. Still hope springs eternal...
  4. With regards the GPMG, Lambda defence have stated that they plan to tackle an M240 after their MK 48. Not exactly a FN MAG but not too far off. The FAL is quite an annoying one. The VFC GBBR is supposed to be out in September or October. Would certainly be waiting till the new year in such a case. Don't fancy trying to skirmish in the winter with one. Also gives them a bit of time to iron out any errors in the first batch. King Arms were supposed to re-release their FAL line this year but that seems to be a non-starter. All the same, recently checked WGC shop and the had the KA ARM back in stock for the first time in ages. So might be pleasantly surprised to see a SLR or FAL pop up in the restocked section of a retailer. LCT have shown prototype photos of HK53 and MP5s, so the HK21 might be happening down the line. Alternatively the company might pursue a PSG-1 as the VFC version seems to be selling well.
  5. Never thought to try Guarder, will give em a go next time I get the chance. From a bit of searching its claimed by some some that they are BLS OEM. The 1000 bag for the heavier weights makes trying them an attractive proposition.
  6. Seemed to fit without any issues. Barrel is a Lambda 6.05. The E&L AKM also works well with a Retro arms hop unit on a PDI 6.05 barrel (that's my friends setup). Combat Union is a pricey unit but I should be comparing the cost to a Maxxx item rather than say a Lonex.
  7. Was going to say I haven't any E&Ls at the moment but have a friends AKM I was doing a bit of work on. Will have a looksy and get back to you.
  8. Thing is very sturdy when its attached to the barrel. Tried a few different hop up rubbers for fit. A Lonex didn't stand a chance of getting in. Then went to a Prometheus purple which barely fit and tore near the barrel end. Moment of dread trying to get it out but it eventually came back out. Might have fit if I had trimmed off a mm or so. Lastly tried out a G&G green which fitted snugly but well. Still waiting on other parts before I can reassemble it the build but first impressions are promising.
  9. Picked up a new hop up unit. Thing is fairly robust, beats the Lonex and Retro Arms for build quality.
  10. Would second the recommendation of avoiding airsoft rebrands. You can usually get very decent charger from RC car or Heli suppliers. Lastly make sure to check if the charger includes the needed leads or if you have to purchase separately. Can be unpleasant to get your shiny new charger and have no means to connect your lipos to it.
  11. All the more reason we need a HK 21 aeg, close to optimum barrel length.
  12. A while back remember reading that it was beyond 509mm that negative effects kick it. That was a US based forum, so that might have been with the mindset of dropping a M120 spring in everything. The 455mm makes more sense. Thanks for the info.
  13. A while ago 455mm was being thrown around as the optimum barrel length. Now it might have its origins in sniper forums or a particular TM model was similar length and had great performance.
  14. Sky RC Q200. So you can charge or discharge four lipos at once. Also has the benefit of lighting up like the death star control room.
  15. Absolutely, there is no substitute for testing specific guns with BBs. Have had an AK it the past that was shooting very nicely with 0.28g BBs. Tried the 0.30g of the same brand and was a horror show. Choking and did a number on the hop up rubber. GBBR versus AEG introduces another variable.
  16. That's interesting. Was going to try those BBs when they came into stock at Fire support, glad I didn't now. Find the G&G BBs good for lighter weights (0.25 & 0.28g). Used Geoffs at a couple of different weight and been pleased with them. Most recently got a few bags of Airsoft Surgeon 0.30g and seem decent enough in backyard testing. Will have to use them in a skirmish or two to get the full experience.
  17. Umarex/VFC are coming out with a MG4. Perhaps we will get a Negev or a HK21 down the line?
  18. Not that particular aeg, still see there are 1000 quid and plus aegs where their is an extra charge for changing the connector. Seems a bit stingy all the same. Also as mentioned by others, quite a few of the recommended upgrades seem to be err let's charitably say lateral in their effectiveness.
  19. Don't forget the best of a fiver's charge if you want a Deans connector put on your custom aeg.
  20. SKS rifle, whether it be an Aeg or GBBR, seems sorely missed.
  21. If you're handy with a file or dremel, you can mod a surplus handgrip to fit fairly easily.
  22. Good to hear you have had positive experience with the Valkyrie. Found G&G very decent at lighter weight (0.25 & 0.28g), had a few jams with their grey 0.30g. Found Geoffs to be reliable feeders at the various weights I have tried (most recently 0.32g). Have a few bags of Airsoft Surgeon in 0.30g weight on the way, will be curious as to how they perform. Haven't tried the brand before.
  23. Fair point. Remember a friend being horrified by what airsofters spend on bits of rubber (hop ups).
