  1. if memory serves @sjhirst did some service work on a balystik reg, think there was even a video. although your mileage may vary with different reg designs.
  2. understandable, easy to get carried away sometimes. always that disconnect between having the occasional chuckle at non-pc humour and your own heartfelt beliefs at the best of times, and the internet isn't the greatest for easily telling the difference, especially out of context.
  3. yeah, it was a clever adjustment of the terminology for sure. understandable, guess this is starting to stray into tricksy territory. i suppose to clarify i was mostly exaggerating for the humour (as i assume was druid), when it comes to airsoft by the time everyone's decked up in camo, webbing, face pro etc you can barely tell the difference anyway and what folk get up to behind closed doors ain't my concern.
  4. i think it means you're either a male, female, both, or neither depending on how you feel at any given moment. but then my source for this was trolling the character creation in south park tfbh so probably mildly innaccurate.....
  5. and now i'm conflicted between both imagination and memory battling to decide which of those gets to give me ptsd.....
  6. isn't that most triggers are non-binary aka trans? and of course bullpup triggers are gender fluid, unless they're 2-stage which is bisexual i think. i mean i lost the track of this somewhere around 2011.....
  7. this is why there's 2fa- just in case your finger slips 10 times for each key of your password
  8. indeed, anyone investing in a gbb akm is gonna want a proper steel reciever, afaik even WE got the memo on that one...... the m4 i suppose they can get away with because it's a popular platform and meant to be made of aluminium anyway.
  9. ain't that just the question...... you can get the geoffs in bags of 3000, although you'll be wincing every shot: https://www.outdoorandtactical.co.uk/product/geoffs-precision-bbs-0-40g-3000-white
  10. 5fps doesn't sound too bad, not perfect but good enough. could be the preload difference compared to whatever you had it in previously, say a shorter box with thrust bearings on spring guide and piston compared to only one here. i'm guessing by the targets you're going for this is going to be a dmr platform, and the titan suggests precocking, in which case having thrust bearings on both ends isn't the worst option (i tend to avoid running piston bearings on auto guns to save piston weight/avoid pme but that's not relevent in a semi-only pew)
  11. sounds like you've tested all the normal ports of call with air seal- cool idea trying it with the barrel mounted on the gearbox imma pinch that one. whats the fps consistency like? if you've got good static seal (which it sounds like you do) and there's not much variation in the fps on the chrono then i'd be inclined in this case to be thinking that the spring maybe isn't as strong as it claims to be. edit: also worth chrono'ing with the hop on a tad (for whatever weight you normally run or therebouts), if it's completely off can give bad readings.
  12. for starters that hpa's have binary triggers, can't account wolverine and redline solenoid systems but the mechanical and polarstar systems don't. also that all hpa users are cnuts, because they aren't...... to add to the list lets address the 3 main arguments that tend to get levied against hpa: high rof- just have an rof site limit- the hpa guys can turn their guns down, not so easy for a dsg build without a fancy mosfet...... joule creep- chrono on joules, gbbr's and heavy piston'd boltys have the same problem, also if i had a penny for every site that didn't chrono green gas pistols....... reg twiddling- a lot of hpa regs can be tournament locked, the qc spring on a scorpion evo (other qc spring guns are available) can't, jus' sayin.......
  13. you are right of course. but it's fun to have a rant every now and then, and if we clear up some misconceptions while we're at it then that's worth the while?
  14. can't speak for the other brands, but the polarstar fcu doesn't have a facility for a binary trigger. it does however have a facility for limiting the semi-auto rate of fire......
  15. you're meant to chrono it at 2.5j on .2g, then put .5g bb's in it joule creeping up to 3.5j, then adjust the reg after chrono to get you to 4.8j and only engage inside MED because everyone that runs hpa does those things dontyaknow
  16. it's custom work he does, the pics are customer's guns he's done. don't know what his rates are but presumably quite pricey, although the pics speak for why.... one of these days i'll have enough spare cash to comission the svd for such treatment.......
  17. at least it's an accurate description of what you're looking for......
  18. are you saying you don't want a gbbr that lets you hk-slap every 30 rounds.......
  19. does it have a bearing on both the piston and spring guide? if it does removing the piston bearing will drop it a little (maybe not enough in this case). trimming is a thing but my preference tends towards changing the spring entirely.
  20. ooh a tm gbb mp5, or, well, tm gbb hk anything is gonna do some dethroning.....
  21. taking the "20 rps" figure that's being used in this thread as the benchmark it's not that hard. granted you double that number and it's very much a different story. i can understand the type of character who pissed off the op, and yourself, but not every hpa player is like this, hell the single best game of airsoft i've ever played with immaculate sportsmanship all round there was only 1 player not running an airline...... you can be a cnut with almost anything in this hobby, blaming a specific platform is addressing the wrong issue.
  22. by that logic a stock s&t ppsh41 running on 8.4v nimh is a far superior gnu to a cqb m4 running a fusion engine, maxx hop unit, pdi barrel and carbon fibre handguard...... or, y'know, the other dude is a better cqb player than me you do realise you can literally do all that with an aeg? hell i'm about 2 minutes of mosfet programming away from getting my akm to do that......
  23. there needs to be both. what's important is having an appropriate number for the size of the site, no use having 200 people on a site that gets crowded with 40, likewise no sense having 20 people running around never bumping into each other on a massive site.
  24. strong second post, informative, and entertaining, would read again
