The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Crazy_Crystal replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
A few bits have arrived to finish the OpFor rig i'll be using at the next Okto in January... because who doesn't like woodland and a Czech Ushanka 😅 -
Nice, I may bump into you at some point then, although i'm not actually around this week. (It's my local site.)
-
Basically this is the important tube information. it looks like being a reasonable gen 2 unit although being a pvs 7 means you may need some practice with it to avoid tripping over things (No depth perception.) Either way enjoy your NODs and get yourself to some night games.
-
The best options for what you're looking for is either a Wilcox L4G11 mount or a norotos AKA2 bayonet mount, as these will fit any OpsCore/Wilcox style night vision shrouds and are highly adjustable. as to where you can get them is a little trickier outside of the states. I would suggest the facebook groups mentioned before or ebay as your best bet. Alternatively Wilcox do make an adapter, but you'll have to have a search for dovetail to bayonet adapters for yourself. Hopefully you'll find something fairly quickly.

Unfortunately not unless you are the only player with night vision in the game area. the thing about digital is that they do still require a light source they just allow you to see IR, so they tend to come with an IR LED illuminator to make anything near darkness visible. unfortunately, because IR is very close on the light spectrum to red you can often appear to people without NV as a glowing red cyclops and for those with NODs you appear as having a giant headtorch, which isn't exactly subtle either. hopefully that explains their limitations, however for dusk and dawn when they don't require the additional light they're great but your eyeball does pretty well too then and is definitely cheaper. as @Monkman said you can pick up a pretty good unit for around 1.5 k second-hand although bargains do occasionally pop up around the 1K mark and there are a couple of FB groups for buying and selling NODs. if you're going the whole hog and making a once in a lifetime investment go for Gen 3s or Photonis Echo's or better if you can, just make sure to see what they're like in person if going second hand. Equally most Gen 2+ units will be amazing for your occasional night game use and it's probably only worth stepping up if you are putting in the hours at night.

New belt arrived just in time this week, ready for testing at Gunman descent this weekend. really comfortable and a nice improvement over my old FRV belt as the pouches are much more stable. -
Unfortunately that does sound very sluggish which makes me wonder if there is some cause of additional resistance slowing things down in the gearbox. could be anything from awful shimming, burning out motor or even just low voltage(Flat) batteries so it is probably worth sending to a tech if you're not confident in opening up yourself. someone like Negative airsoft with a good reputation should be able to sort you out. If you do want to go down the mosfet route for precocking a Gate warfet may be an easier option, but whatever is causing this needs to be looked at first really.
-
If you're at descent I'll be there with my mws... As far as weight goes, mine is stock bar a modify bucking and a six g nub and I like 0.36's but equally my mws is only ever really used in semi really.
-
I was wondering the same thing. It does require a reasonable over voltage for a FET to actually catch fire, although shorts and current surges aren't good for them either. hopefully things are made a bit more public on this sooner rather than later. They'll release a solution reasonably quickly I'm sure. at least they did with the Mk46 dovetail in the end.

I was surprised too, but there we go. I'm not sure where he's importing them from at that price though. Although £300 for the bundle including the mags is probably still the right price. Especially as the Zhukov is in stock for £230 it works out about right I think 👍
-
you can get the AK74U from zero one or daves custom airsoft for £169 and £139 respectively so that may have to drop in price, but as you say you'll just have to see how it goes.

PayPal holding money is pretty normal if the amount looks unusual to their algorithm. Or they pick up a key word in the notes for something they don't like. But when they're providing the buyer protection they kinda do what they want.

I think that was what madaysan gaming (three posts above) Suggested in his video regarding the RS claw mounts. but i guess we'll see. not long until they should be in the UK anyway
-
That is a shame... definitely hoping someone can come up with an SD Kit for one instead.... (always loved the SD6) otherwise I was going to go for the railed approach which looks like it may be a bit more of a challenge.

Both SMGs are actually pretty solid little performers so if you prefer the look of one or the other then go for that one. I personally use the TM mp7 as a sidearm in a holster but still the range and consistency you get out of it stock is very impressive. (I use it with green gas out of the box and it does fine.) In fact it's a really snappy little gun to shoot. Just be aware that it is a 90% size replica as that may bother some people. As far as the MP9, they look like really solid options but I have less experience with them. Just be aware that they'll need the 1J CQB bolt in them if they don't already have that.

Countering bush wookies Like Kicking Mustang?

in that case it might have been three years ago... definitely no snow. though Eversley is 90% rhododendrons so its green all year round anyway 😂 -

100% this, at the Gunman Christmas game two years ago we had two great snipers dressed up in white ghillies as yeti's. it was Santa's Vs Elves but they were getting a lot of hits and because they picked their shots and watched their silhouettes/stayed still they rarely got spotted... -

On a more practical note deploying smoke can make a big difference as does lots of movement as both make you hard to hit, especially at long range. If you know roughly where they are then try encouraging some team mates to make a concerted push towards them bounding from cover to cover and ideally flanking them in the process. just keep moving. At the end of the day your aim is to get inside his MED to take them out or to force them to make a mistake like relocating or going loud. Unfortunately the actual spotting the comes with practice, but just because you aren't being shot at doesn't mean someone isn't watching waiting to spring an ambush. -
I have both and I so nearly agree with you... so light and pointy. Just the range you get with heavy ammo in the MWS makes it my go to RIF.

Tokyo Marui Saiga 12 GBBR Tri Shot Shotty Announced.
Crazy_Crystal replied to Asomodai's topic in Latest News
Now for the big question... does anyone have any idea when they're likely to be available? I'm just hoping that it's not TM timing.... I.e. with us fairly soon. -
Same here... plus that GBB Saiga is stunning too... so many rif's this year.....
-
That really is quite the translation. 😂
-
So surprisingly I haven't seen much chatter about this, but finally the AKM is up on their website which hopefully means a batch will arrive in the uk fairly soon... I'll be interested to see how it compares to the other GBB AK's on the market. (I must admit that I am not particularly a Kalashnikov aficionado but this is very tempting.) If it performs half as well as their MWS System it should be very skirmishable. https://www.tokyo-marui.co.jp/products/gas/machinegun/486

Yep fire support do them... They work on AEGs too. You don't necessarily need to use them, just some rails need them. Barrel Shims
