  1. Would recommend the series as a whole, there's some pretty decent actual science fiction in there, and a few of them are genuine short features. Being an anthology series means that if you hate one episode, you'll probably love the next one, and you don't have to wait long for it. The quality of animation in some episodes comes very very close to clambering out of the Uncanny Valley. You can almost forgot that you're watching high tech cartoons.
  2. The other possibility is just that the magazine springs aren't strong enough to shove the BBs up quickly enough, and/or are very slightly misaligned with respect to the hop and magwell. Have you tried other mags? Ex-Workmate Eddy's CM16, while a very decent toy, is a little fussy about mags.
  3. True, that's the account that's been spotted. He's doubtless running others as well.
  4. It helps though, and is a positive in itself. I got a few lockups on my JG G36 with the stock meh motor and V3 2-piece trigger. Both the minor trigger-trolly issue, and also a proper fuse-popper when the spring ended up almost fully compressed and the stock motor stalled out and wouldn't pull it any further. After switching to a Big Dragon M140, I never had another.
  5. I'm in two minds about whether to use their contact form to flag this up. He'll just create a fresh new account, and at least that one has negative feedback on it to warn his victims. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/user/Chris001
  6. Is there a particular reason that you went with NIMH? I mean, they work, but it's old technology. It's also surprisingly tricky for chargers to deal with since they don't know what voltage they're charging to, they have to look for the battery resistance to spike / the current to drop off. I know that lithium cells can get a little explodey, but the performance advantages outweigh that for me.
  7. I suggest that you start over. Forget the back-story, it's not relevant. Just spell out clearly what you are asking someone to do, in terms of actions, items, and money. What's going to be received, what's going to be sent, who's paying for it, and how.
  8. 310fps with a 0.2g BB is about 0.9J which isn't awful. It should be a little higher with an M100 spring, and as @ak2m4says, that's down to air seal. The seal on my Specna Arms Edge 1 isn't great, and it wanted the o-rings seen to out of the box. Airsoft guns aren't precision engineering; they're very over-priced toys. It's a matter for celebration when you get them dialled in, but you can have fun with a sub-optimal gun - as long as your enjoyment is based on the performance in the bushes rather than numbers on the bench. "Matey at the field" wasn't wrong about M100 being a decent default choice, but here's the thing: when you tell an airsoft tech exactly what to do, you don't get to blame them when your instructions don't result in the outcome you were expecting. There are three pretty simple things you can do yourself to try and get the power up. One, clean the hop rubber and barrel. You should be doing this regularly anyway. Two, put some silicone spray into the nozzle, let it sink into the o-rings, then blow it out with some auto bursts before re-assembling. If that doesn't help, then try an M110 spring. Specnas have a simple enough spring change system; you just need a long Phillips or JIS screwdriver to take the bolt out from inside the buffer tube. Once the tube is off, the spring guide and spring come out and go back in easily enough. YouTube will provide videos for disassembly, and spring changing. The sooner you learn, the sooner you won't be at the mercy of well meaning mateys or techs.
  9. Blank firer, the favourite of chavs, Walts and bank robbers. Nothing to do with airsoft, just back slowwwwly away.
  10. Oh, crikey, I've just noticed that you said fps rather than rps. The battery and motor are irrelevant to the fps / kinetic energy of the BB. They'll either pull the piston and spring back until it releases, or they wont. You'll get the same energy each shot[*], all that will change by shoving more electrons around is the rate of fire and trigger response. [*] Technically, if you're running the gun so fast that the sector gear pre-engages with the piston before it's all the way forward, you'll get lower energy, but that's the least of your concerns at that point since your piston and/or gears are going to shred. If you ever put together a gun that can do that, then that's a case where you could use a smartish mosfet to reduce the rate of fire, while still retaining snappy semi-auto response. Shimming your is satisfying, but there's always the possibility that you'll make it worse than the Chinese sweatshop child that did it in 30 seconds. I'd echo the sentiment that it's something to do once you have two usable guns. A quick-change spring makes the process of getting the gearbox apart and back together a lot less fraught. Some strong flat magnets are handy to stick under it to hold everything in place. As usual, Luke at Negative cuts through the woo and just does it pragmatically, while tripping balls on red wine and gabapentin.
  11. Voltage determines how fast your motor wants to spin. The current that your battery can supply limits how fast it can spin. It's a bit peculiar that batteries don't quote an amperage, and you have to work it out from capacity x C rating. Either way, I reckon that current is where 7.4V lithiums shine over 7.2-8.4V nimh.
  12. I think Sez from Leicestershire Airsoft needs exposed, although to be fair, she doesn't need much encouragement.
  13. Might have been something as simple as uploading an avatar, so that we could see your honest face.
  14. Huh, good question. TaiwanGun reckon so, but neither PatrolBase, Bespoke or Bullseye mention it and there isn't one on this 2020 example. Could be new, could depend on the exact version or variant, could be retailer flim flam.
  15. I guess the coyness just adds to the thirst. Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1674678976115452/posts/3058704781046191/ "Well throwing out a warning to realy do your research on techs hopefully you can learn from my mistake" Only if you tell us who it was... "since I'm the victim I'm happy to make this fucker famous" ... go on then... "Dave Gisbourn of Blackpool calls him self phantom Well your good parts will be spirited away and replaced with junk know he has burnt a few lads in the nw found out after he is a walter mitty" More details and WTAF images. I can't really be bothered to find contact details for this chap or I'd invite him to exercise his right of reply here. While searching, I did stumble across an entirely unrelated tech page by Leicestershire Airsoft, offering "Service including strip down" Which is frankly more interesting than finding out about yet another pufreshun aersoft tecknishun doing bits-box bodges.
  16. Huh, that's new. Even if the gearbox was packed with white lithium/ptfe grease I wouldn't expect it to keep spooging out indefinitely. Are those bio BBs by any chance?
  17. Looks like PatrolBase just got a decent restock as well.
  18. Good spot. Yes, you can rewire Tamiya easily enough, you just need a precision flat bladed screwdriver or similar to push the tabs on the sides of the pins in. We covered polarity and rewiring here.
