  1. It was, until a certain trading block made us remove dichloromethane / methylene chloride from domestic paint strippers in 2016. You could then buy the stuff neat on eBay, but that's been nixxed now too. Some industrial sellers are still flogging it, but only in bulk, or with postage that far exceeds the cost of the product. If the brake fluid doesn't get it all, then acetone or isopropanol might work, depending on what's in the paint. I'd do an isopropanol clean before re-painting anyway.
  2. JB Weld is decent stuff, and may adhere and hold up to the strain, but - depending on how much meat is around the hole - I'd be looking at drilling it bigger and putting a bushing in. How's your parts pile sorted for those?
  3. Thanks, and credit to him for covering it, even as a sales pitch[*]. Nothing wrong there, he's essentially reading out the same statues and regulations as we have in the legal section here. However, not mentioning S19 (simple public possession of a RIF or IF, requiring the active defence of a reasonable excuse) is a whopping big omission. And I'd really have liked to heard some case law - that's what we're lacking. Still, if it brings a few more pedants into the hobby, I'll welcome them. [*] Hearing that "his mate was in the SBS" doesn't alter my impression that this chap's self image may be a few rungs above strict mundane reality.
  4. Hmm, I was going to raise a red flag about ordering directly from SWAT, but I see they've moved to a dealer network now. That's a much better model. Even at that though, I'd want to be very clear about stocking - LT, for example, list the timed grenades as stocked-on-demand, via the obfuscated term "warehouse special". Back on topic, I make custom holders from kydex. It can be bought in your colour of choice from eBay, and a 2mm A4 sheet is enough for making two holders. It's super easy stuff to work with, just cut out this sort of shape with a craft or Stanley knife or strong scissors, heat it in an oven or with a heat gun, and form it around the grenade (the round part being bent upwards to go under the grenade). Once it's cooled, remove the grenade, then if necessary reheat it and reform it inwards a bit so that when cool again it grips the grenade tightly. I don't need any other sort of retention, the springiness of the kydex holds the grenades securely, and they can just be tugged out without fiddling with any sort of strap or snap. Securing it to your rig can be done any way you like, I drill holes as shown above and lace or cable tie them on. Job done.
  5. Necroposters built this internet! Well, the necroposted parts of it anyway.
  6. I suspect that you meant to post this on Facebook and Reddit.
  7. Oh, nice, but as you say, a last resort if you want to put a little charge into a battery on site. Might make sense if you're at a weekender with no charging facilities, and don't mind risking your batteries to whatever circuitry is (or isn't) in there.
  8. Er, buy another one? Unless you're emptying drum mag after drum mage, 2.9Ah should see you through a day - I usually swap batteries at lunch to spread the load. Failing that, a 12V -> 240V inverter should be fine for running a mains charger (assuming you're not a bus wanker). The older SkyRC iMax B6 chargers will run directly off of a 12V (well, 12.5V to 14.5V) car battery - I think mine came with a crocodile-clipped lead for that purpose. That's not a recommendation, those are old tech now, just a note.
  9. Do you have any strong feelings about airsoft though?
  10. For charging airsoft batteries? Very unlikely, as you'd have to step 5V up to something like 13V to charge an 11.1V (and actually peaking at 12.6V) lipo, and you'd be charging it at under 1A. What problem are you trying to solve? As in, what batteries do you already have? The default recommendation is a SkyRC S65 as a do-anything solution (caveat: unless there's something better and cheaper out there now).
  11. Plus postage plus fees, mate. (His previous failed attempt to sell it wanted it collected for that price)
  12. Last I heard, the Molyneux MAS-G was going to be an impact grenade, a timed grenade, a tripwire mine, a proximity mine, a location beacon, a WiFi hotspot, a coffee maker, and an intimate massager.

Pfft, airsofting as a pretend space soldier, the absolute state of it. Gizza go, mister.
  14. Don't waste money on cheap snipers, anyway. Upgrades are often side-grades. Heavier BBs are the cheapest real upgrade. Most successful YouTubers are presenting a fictional narrative, not a documentary. The rules are more what you'd call guidelines. Play the way you'd like others to play, even and especially if your standards exceed those of the site's marshals and their mates. And meme magic is more real than Toyko Marui magic.
  15. The Depot used to ask, but (2nd hand anecdote) what ended strobes there was when a lad found out the hard way while standing at the top of some stairs. Even very bright and narrow beam weapon lights are a bit of a cad's trick. At some point you're not using them to see, but to avoid being seen.
  16. Photosensitive epileptics will thank your local sites for pre-emptively banning that. Although of course now I'm intrigued as to how well the Ali Express ones actually work.
  17. Yup, that's right. I didn't want to prompt the answer.
  18. No picture of username and date, scammer reported.
  19. I wouldn't be at all surprised, I've seen plenty of folk on Facebook ask "wut bb wait 2 get undar 350?" entirely sincerely.
  20. I expect most of us are kind of obsessive, it attracts our type. There are some cautionary tales in here though.
  21. Eh. It's a CYMA, it probably came shooting hotter than the burning rage of a thousand suns. I'd note that it's £275 to get it in your hands, in unknown condition, and that there's no username + date evidence in the single picture. It doesn't appear to have been swiped from anywhere else, and the bloke does have positive feedback, but I don't find that total price remotely tempting for a used sale.
  22. It's very site-dependent. Some are all over it, want to see you chronoing with a fresh bulb, and will spot check you during the day - which can be a problem as temperatures rise. Some are "Eh, pistol, mate, not bothered mate." Most are in the middle and will just ask if it's green gas (on you go, even if you're running the hottest propane around), or CO2 (put a few shots through with whatever bulb you have in there). Counter-point, I wish I'd got a plastic slide Glock as my metal slide AA R17 doesn't cycle well in the cold. Don't leave it on the dash in a hot car in the middle of summer, and even those horror stories are always about what happened to a mate's cousin's hairdresser's dog-walker.
  23. Ahoy and welcome. Buying can get addictive, you might want to pause for a bit and just play (I mean, so we all say, don't ask what we do). Good call on trying something more immersive. Even filmsim (casual milsim or themed days) knocks it up a big notch from a regular skirmish. CQB is also worth a try if you can find that locally, it's more intense.
  24. Insert Stock Rant #3 about "lol m8 evry1 noews wut 350 meens m8".
  25. Just to be absolutely sure, which way are you sliding to add hop?
