Ah, that makes more sense. I was indeed being uncharitable, and got it bass ackwards. Mea culpa. Well, good luck to them. Better to own the brand than be the whipping boys for someone else.
-
Oof. Case law uber alles. Do you happen to know the case?
-
I read it as "Too many problems, too much time and money spent on global support, best of luck. PS, buy our new brand, we promise to support it this time!" Perhaps I'm being uncharitable.
-
Oof, sorry to hear that. Warnings aside, an M105 is nothing, I suspect there was something hooky inside the box to begin with given the low power. Fingers crossed that it's a cheap fix, if you don't want to dive in there yourself.

I believe they're basically airsoft gearboxes, but a lot of plastic rather than Chinesium, no hop unit, and tin foil barrels.
-
Likely, but they're still clearly RIFs, and I see RIF paintball "markers" are also freely available for sale. Yarp, it's utterly ridiculous, and it seems that we're now the only RIF-based hobby that self-polices in any way. Australia are all gel-blasters now after even airsoft guns fell foul of their fun-sponges. My real concern is that some Minster looking for a quick headline "discovers" all the various RIFs for sale, and yells "Ban 'em! Ban 'em all! And ban private possession as well!" We should enjoy it while it lasts, I guess.

Prompted by the lad asking about how to get an airsoft gat for playing in a field, I was going to suggest gel blasters as I'd seen dayglo / stickerbomb ones for sale. But, well, well, well, looks like they've gone full RIF. For example https://gelweapons.co.uk/collections/gel-blasters/ You can even find them for sale on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Blaster-Goggles-Upgrade-Version-Backyard/dp/B0DFP99WQY (I've reported that one to see if they care). These are quite obviously RIFs. They're not airsoft guns, and they can't claim our defence. They seem to be over 1J, so would notionally be "lethal barrelled" air guns (just because they're intended to shoot gel balls doesn't mean you couldn't drop steel BBs in). They might even need an air gun licence in Scotshire. Heck, full auto and "lethal barrelled"... I'm assuming that the sellers and owners are just getting away with it because, well, nobody cares. Just pure disinterest from the police and trading standards. At this point, I rather suspect that having a defence and a defined non-firearm category is the only thing that's making airsoft retailers ask for a defence.

To cover the insurance that won't pay out anyway if he declares it honestly.

Aside, are there any aftermarket realism mods for airsoft P320s that make them go off for, like, no reason?
-
The AAP-01C "Shinobi" is actually slightly heavier than the standard one, despite being a shortboi. You're using the translucent silicon MR hop? What colour?

Taking his impression kit a bit far?

My AEP is in its component pieces, awaiting yet another Quixotic attempt to make it usable. As stock, they're all about 0.4J / 200fps with 0.2g, maybe a fraction more. As noted, the semi auto trigger response is poor, even when running them on lipo. The cheaper ones that come with nimh batteries have truly dreadful semi response, and given that they're only really usable in CQB due to the low energy, you'll always be at a big disadvantage in any snap-shot duel. They do work, after a fashion, but you'll always be disappointed with them.
-
/thread Mine works fine for CQB or for funsies in woodland. If you want to drop money, buy a second one and dual wield?
-
Airsoft sites assume a certain amount of knowledge (although they shouldn't). Anything capable of over 1.3J (with any ammo, not just what you choose to use) must be single shot, as a matter of law, not site rules. Over 1.3J and auto is (legally speaking) a Section 5 firearm, not an airsoft gun, and notionally has the same penalty as being caught with a real firearm. If you want a DMR (over 1.3J by law, or over the 1.13-1.2J site limit for AEGs) , it must be limited to single shot in some way - it's up to sites to decide what methods they'll accept.

Best out of the Box Rifle (Beginner here)
Rogerborg replied to ahtiq's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Ahoy and welcome. "Best" in airsoft is a loaded question. Best for what? CQB? Woodland? Best effective range? Best reliability? Best semi auto trigger response? Best rate of fire? Best satisfaction per trigger pull (GBB or EBB)? Have you played at all? What did you like or not like about the guns that you've already used? All that said, you've listed decent choices, there's no reason not to get them. -
It's entirely up to the site(s), you'll have to look into that. Some fire control systems actually let you program in a DMR delay to limit the rate of fire. There's a significant degree of trust involved in DMRs given the minimum engagement distance, and the potential for abusing them by spamming. One of my locals just disallows them completely (everything has to either be <1.2J or bolt action), and frankly I agree with them given how hard it is to marshal DMRs. HPA makes Baby Jesus cry.

Given that your choices include a gun with a carbine mag and one that's a Mk23 pistol in a body-kit, I assume that a .308/7.62mm style magazine isn't a deal breaker for you. In that case, you could just up-spring your SSR4 and restrict it to semi with a grub screw (depending on your local site(s) rules). A barrel extension and/or silencer can let you use a longer barrel, and swapping out the cylinder for an unported one is simple enough if you want to open the gearbox. If you want something new, magazine cost and availability needs to be factored in. The Vorsk only uses its own proprietary mags, and they're not cheap, nor necessarily available (PatrolBase doesn't have any long mags). The SSX303 (which is non-blowback, not blowback) takes Mk23 mags, which gives you more choice. If you want to go gas, I'd go with that over the Vorsk all day long. The East Crane (who?) and Golden Eagle will both need locking to semi, and up-springing (same as your SSR4 would). Both use proprietary low and mid caps, so again you'll need to factor in cost and availability to buy more. The Double Bell is the only AEG on that list which is actually "DMR" spec out of the box, and comes with a hi-cap magazine so there are no extra costs. I believe that mid-caps are available. I'd be looking for reasons not to get that from those 3 electrics.

Oh, I know those! You're not supposed to be permitted to be allowed to film there because they're specially protected critical secure private government sites, mate, it's not allowed.
-
It's a smart move to make them from 18650s, they're ubiquitous in pretty much everything from electric shavers to electric cars - if you pop open a car battery, thousands of them will spill out. However, it also leaves you vulnerable to bad batches or bait-and-switch by suppliers, or ham handed construction. I note Titans claim to be "made in the USA", which isn't the flex they imagine.
-
And two batteries and one mag is the wrong way round. The first thing you should do with an AEP is convert it to lipo one way or another.
-
Still optimistic at that price, given that it's two toned, and the nimh model with anaemic performance. Lipo transforms them, and you can get the lipo-ready CYMA CM.127 from PatrolBase with free two-toning for £65 plus the postage that he isn't even offering. Remember that we're comparing used and unknown condition to new.

Electric Airsoft Pistol with 2 batteries, ammo and case included

Aside, are those Titans just 3 18650 lithium ion cells taped together? Sorry, looks like they're fucked. There's no way they should jump from 3.17v per cell (nearly discharged) right up to 4.2v like that.

That's the real issue bro has: he's built his dream gun, which has value to him. He's likely reduced the value of the components.
