Wow, she must have a seriously messed up sense of smell 🤣

Personally I would not support the use of anything larger than 209 and certainly not indoors. 209s are plenty loud enough for people in the 'kill' zone to know they are hit. 9mm and over is loud enough to cause hearing damage if it lands near someone

I'd spray a good amount of GT85 (Not WD40) into the gearbox via the nozzle. Best to keep them at the back of a wardrobe but if going into the loft then wrap them up in a sheet, towel or blanket. Shed or garage is the last resort for storage. The batteries should be kept indoors and either charged using 'storage' setting or taken off charge before being full. Pistols should be well sprayed with GT85 again. Mags are the hard part because they're unlikely to keep pressure for months so will need checking and topping up.

Wycombe Airsoft ask players not to shoot walking on the way to the game area (out of the safe zone) because they also have junior paintball games nearby.

The nozzle sticking a bit in the hop is a good thing and all pistols should do that. It shows a good seal until the reset. Many pistols I have with a hammer do the same. The hammer sits a bit out from its flush position. Other than that I can't really help. They are actually quite complex mechanisms. Make sure the reset bars work so that when you manually rack the slide the hammer stays cocked. Sometimes the sear faces get worn so things don't lock properly.

By 'gun sock' I presume you mean one of these An actual sock wouldn't stop a BB at all. That's the one good thing Absolute Airsoft insisted on having.

Wanting to by a really good out-of-the box airsoft gun

If M4 is the only platform considered then I give another vote for the Specna Arms Edge 2 range. (Still make sure to clean the barrel before first use) -
No motor movement after rebuild following free-spin.

Good luck and let us know 👍 -
No motor movement after rebuild following free-spin.

Yes, that sounds about right. If the adjustment screw wasn't in at all then the gears must not have been in contact at all. That would also mean that it wouldn't matter if the motor was wrongly wired. I would guess the free spin of the motor must have overloaded some part of the MOSFET board. If its the MOSFET then it should be relatively easy to replace with a basic one. -

No motor movement after rebuild following free-spin.
EDcase replied to twogowan's topic in Electric Guns
If the pinion gear is engaged with the bevel gear which they should be when the motor is mounted in the handgrip then it cannot spin backwards because of the anti-reversal latch. OP said motor wasn't mounted correctly but I can't imagine how it would not have engaged the gears at all. -

With a reverse motor connection I wouldn't expect the motor to spin but I guess its possible it could spin inside the pinion gear. That would likely blow the MOSFET. -
Not really relevant anymore as I don't think they're still available but the recoil on my Lonex BAW (Orange cap) is so strong its a bit scary. I've used it in a few games and its so loud it has scared people next to me 😲 Its the only AEG I have that actually needs 11.1v LiPo to run. I duno how long it'll last but I'm enjoying it while it does. Not many videos of em unfortunately. Most videos I've found are showing the weaker version which was also available as an addon kit. (Red cap) This is the only one that comes close to showing the true power 😄

Definitely worth going 7.4v LiPo as they are fine for running most AEGs.

When you say "... it free-span a couple of times before stopping" Do you mean you pulled the trigger a few times and it free span then it didn't move the next time you tried the trigger or you kept pulling the trigger and the motor just locked up? The devil's in the details... Its either a fuse buried in there somewhere or the MOSFET if it has one. Its unlikely to be motor burnout but if you want to test... As Fatboy said, test the motor ideally by connecting to another AEG or VERY CAREFULLY directly to a battery using wires/paperclips into the battery. *MAKE SURE WIRES CONNECTED TO BATTERY DON'T TOUCH EACHOTHER* Just tap the contact to see if the motor jumps but ideally put the motor in a vice. -
Nice. Just needs a new grip

I'd say go for a CYMA. They're good budget performers. Are you after a particular model or look? As Cannonfodder mentioned, its worth getting at least a second magazine. (I recommend a hi-cap otherwise you'll need a lot more magazines) Definitely worth keeping £50 aside for a LiPo battery and decent charger. (Search for the recommended options) This is a basic charger option SkyRC e3 LiPo (2-3S) Balance Charger (V2) - Unmanned Tech UK FPV Shop (unmannedtechshop.co.uk) This one is better but you'll need to get connector leads for the battery plug type. RC Cars, Tanks or Boats? They can be purchased quite cheap for entry level these days. I didn't mention planes/helos/drones because rules can be a bit limiting where you can fly but if there's a club nearby... Gets em outdoors and may reveal engineering interests if they want to tinker.

That's a bit harsh. Vorsk are definitely not great but should work decently. Longevity is an unknown (for me at least) but the ones I have work just as well as WE pistols. Since its a UK company making airsoft toys I don't want to be too tough on them. So does the slide move easily when pulled back?
-
Hi, Do you mean when firing or just pulling the slide back by hand? Pistols generally have a feature called 'Hold Open' so after the last BB (or bullet) is fired the pistol will stay open ready for a new magazine to be inserted. Then the slide catch must be pushed down (Usually on left side above the trigger) If firing with BBs Are you filling the gas properly? Hold the gas can pointing DOWN onto the magazine and hold for about 5 sec. (You should NOT hear lots of gas escaping) Does the slide move easily when you pull back and let go? (Mag-out and mag-in while holding the slide release lever down)

Welcome Reef 🖐 Good plan to play first and buy later. Play 3 games at the same site so you can then ask them to be UKARA registered. That will allow you to buy realistic 'black' weaponry. As TacticalWaifu said, Eye protection is the first priority. Fogging is a real problem with the cheaper goggles but don't go crazy and spend hundreds either. Many here recommend 'Revision Wipes' to avoid fogging. Have a search in the forum for recommended eyepro. Mesh doesn't fog but does obscure vision and in theory BBs can shatter on impact with bits small enough to get through so not recommended. Next is the lower facemask. Mesh is best because it doesn't direct your breath to your eyepro. As stated above, under 18s often require full mask. Boots with ankle support are highly recommended. Most common injuries are sprained ankles from running on very uneven ground. Don't have to spend loads. Either military surplus or have a look in nearest SportDirect at the hiking section.
