  1. Thanks, Lozart. I figured it was mostly fitted to the reciever, but wanted to be sure. Didn't take into account the import charges. Looked at exch-rate for a $55 set and was impressed - didn't think about the rest of the charges. I'll have rethink on the import. Thanks Proffrink.
  2. 7) If the site has a shop where you can buy what you want - some site owners let you buy a gun from them and hold it for you. "Hire" that particular AEG from them for 3 games to pay off the gun and get UKARA. Once you've done your 3, you can get UKARA and officially buy your gun with the last instalment. 😃
  3. Hi guys I have a Frankenstien M4 which I'm looking to upgrade. The Receiver and internals are all Jing Gong; with a Tokyo Marui front end (complete). I'm looking into getting this; http://www.evike.com/products/26633/ It says that it will fit JG; but requires modification to fit TM. Can anyone tell me; would the fitting modification be to the receiver (so no mod); or the outer barrel (so need to mod to get it on); or likely both. Thanks, guys Twice19
  4. I haven't got a holographic, but the concept is the same to iron sights. Find a target you want to shoot at (caravan window) and first get your hop set. Once your happy with how the Hop is; 5/10 shots to the window - adjust the sight to compensate. Just keep on firing groups (semi for me) and adjusting until you have it set right. There's no real way that's quick and easy to set the sights. It's mostly trial and error and constant adjusting of the sight :-)
  5. I've always worn mesh so no problem with that. Looking to get the Daggernose (low profile googles); if I get on with them I'll be following up with the lower mesh too.
  6. Why are you selling? Looking to get a pair of HeroSharks on payday - something I need to look out for with them??
  7. Thanks for the advice, new spring to be ordered on payday. Although the barrel is longer, it's not a tightbore (although this is going to be an upgrade in the future)
  8. Thanks, guys. I'll look into getting a new spring for it. Proffrink: I'll admit I was surprised too. From what I remember it was running at around 350fps when I played regularly. I've swapped the front end around so I now have a Tokyo Marui hop & full length inner barrel (used to be a 110mm barrel). The change of hop and barrel shouldn't effect FPS so drastically though, should it?!?
  9. Does anyone have any experience with using Velocity Reducers on AEG's? Are they any good? Or is there a better *cheap* FPS downgrade option? I've started repairing my old JG M4 and when test firing it the Coke Can Chrono is giving me approx 420-450fps. I'm looking for a cheap downgrade as I don't want to pile a load of money into downgrades if the gearbox turns out to be naff after 5yrs of no use. (It all seems fine for now, no probs feeding etc - but no telling how it will standup to some proper use). I'm a total noob at anything remotely technical, so if i can drop the FPS without cracking the gearbox open...even better!! Cheers 2x19
  10. No probs. It can get a little tatty with constant use where it's "non-permanent" the edges can lift. But a bit of glue has solved it. I'm not planning to twke it off any time soon, so why not glue it?!? 😃 There's a lot out there - this stuff looks like it's pretty good (not used it myself) http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/131690010259 Or even glow-in-the-dark spray paints. (Again, never tried it).
  11. I have my Dynatoc wrapped up in Day Glow tape. I found that a bright colour is still a bit pants if your fumbling round in the dark. Glowing a soft green, you'll always find it 😃 http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/252099817679
  12. Fun little shotgun shell mod too; http://www.donjarrs-place.com/07-airsoft-make-spas-mag
  13. Welcome, Tank, Don't worry about what the guys say about Airsoft...we say the same about paintball 😋 I've done Ground Zero's weekenders a couple of times and it's a great site. I've never played a "regular" skirmish there, so I can't say much in the day-to-day play. But it's always seemed pretty good there. Ditto to Jedi; rent for a while to get a feel for it, then buy when you have UKARA. There's little point in having to buy a new piece or have to (try to) repaint an aweful 2-tone job. It gives some time to look into specificly what you want - you can spend 2 months researching and planning; rather than regretting and rebuying There's a LOT of useful info on here, so have a look through the pinned topics. Enjoy! Twice19 Ps, if you want to have some real fun; ask about using LiPo batteries ;-)
  14. Does anyone have the measurements of a P90 RIS Kit? Looking to do a serious custom job but can't find the measurements for one :-/
  15. I like to think my dog would honourably defend the house in the event. She growls and barks like a Hell Hound, but as soon as ANYONE steps through the door she realises she must love them! Atleast she'd keep the burglars pinned down while she licks them half to death.
  16. I've been looking into the various options to repair/upgrade my old AEG, but I kept getting lost in the jargon and not really knowing anything I *needed* to know. Then I found this, thought it would be useful for tech newbies like me 😃 http://m.wikihow.com/Upgrade-an-Airsoft-AEG Enjoy :-)
  17. Personally I can see both sides of it. I'm not a "good kit" guy. I run in a cheap pair of DPMs and the cheapest LBV I could find. The only kit I really spend out on is eye/face pro and boots. Personally, I don't think this makes me better or worse than anyone else. I have a hell of a time playing regardless. To be fair, I'm probably not all that good from a sports side of it. I've gone away from days where I've been shot more times than I've fired, or only got a couple of good hits. But it's the fun side of it. However; I do also see the appeal of Mil/Film/Game-Sim. Recently I've been replaying Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and it's really making me think about a GR Loadout. Not at all because I think it would make me a better player, but for my personal satisfaction. As much as we always tell newbies there is no best gun - it's personal preference. The same goes for kit - there's no "best way" to dress up, just go for what you like the look of. Tbh, if money was no option, i would easily spend out for some Gucci Kit. Just to make myself feel a little more tacticool and a little more "emmersed" when I play. But I think the playing side of it is the most important. It is, after all, a game (sport).
  18. I spent years playing with a TM P226. As a pistol, it was flawless. Comfortable to use; easy to strip and clean etc. The RIS on the underside is seriously helpful for torches etc. I should never have traded it 😕 Never used WE, so I can talk manufacturer. But I'd go back to a F/P226 in heartbeat. Played with Glocks for a time, but it never really sat right with me. Your best bet is to actually have a hold and a feel of them. I find a lot the time with pistols comfort is a huge part of it. Personally, I can't get in with Glocks or 1911 variants - but a lot of people swear by them!
  19. Never dealt with that side of it, but when my brother came home from NBC Training he was really nice to me; he sat on my chest and smothered me with his CS Covered Smock. From what I remember (apart from trying to cough up my own lungs), it wasn't pleasant. Feel you you guys who actually had to go through it properly :-(
  20. Never had a problem with seeing the mesh myself. I've always worn these; http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=287_438&products_id=2441 Heard some brilliant things about HereShark (slightly larger holes in the mesh, so meant to be better to see through). Never used them myself.
  21. It hurts a lot less than a broken leg 😃 Face Masks are preference. Do you want full face or just eye pro? (Personally, is recommend Full Face) Some sites require FFP, but most just "advise" it, so if you get shot in the mouth it's your own fault for smiling :-) Mesh is good to stop fogging, but it can be like playing in sunglasses. It takes a little getting used to. There's a few fan assisted goggles to help de-fog.
  22. It's pretty much preference. Maybe upgrade was the wrong word...accessories is better. Was going more along the lines of a base model, rather than one with "different" externals (MOE/Honey-Badger etc variants). I kept my TM M4 stock for a long time, only parts I ever looked into were external to make it a bit more aestheticly pleasing (to me). Nothing wrong at all with stock guns. In my experience they can be brilliant pieces of tech. But I've always liked to keep options open for swapping around the looks and accessories for it.
  23. M4's are VERY customisable. So, start with a base model. Classic M4A1 RIS is a brilliant starter. It gives you the option of adding on little bits (torches/'nade launchers) to your hearts content. Once you've got a few games under your belt you'll start to find what you actually need/want. From there, you can swap out pretty much every part of it (internally and externally) to get the look and the performance you want. Never had one myself, but I've heard good things about G&P as a whole. Decent base model will prob only cost around £200ish. Save a couple of hundred quid on the basic model and put that towards upgrades as and when they're needed. IMHO, if you buy a top-notch model that does everything straight away, you'll still want to customise and upgrade it anyway.
  24. As requested! The pics are pretty poor (bad camera + bad lighting), but it give an idea of what I'm working with. The RIS front end doesn't marry up properly, so when it's on it sits 45-degrees out, so makes a nice M4A1 OFSET (get it...off-set). The stubby + sound hog makes a fun uber loud CQB gun.
  25. I was toying with the idea of a Crane Stock + Nunchucks. Need to have a play around and see how that works with FF-Pro though. Always looks like cranes are a little bulky. I'll admit that the full stock is really useful, it's purely aesthetic for the wanting to change.
