The 'What have you just bought' Thread
rj1986 replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Just bought one of these based on this post - was looking for a universal light bearing holster and this combined with the ex-police x300's from ebay seems like a good fit -
These are now available in the UK with a few retailers at around the £480 mark, a bit less for the rattler. But no trades apart from Octagon who laser's them on himself.
-
Cut to a meeting in Whitehall where someone with hentai cat ears and a HRC discord mod give a presentation on why VFC is better than a TM.
-
"High-end gas-powered airsoft rifles can be purchased for as little at £250 and upwards of £1,700 online in the UK." For once, a press piece is actually (semi) accurate with some details. But TBH, i would like to think airsofters over the age of 23 are switched on enough to know that these are toys, and military life is more than just shooting people. And the 95% of the rest wouldn't pass the fitness or aptitude tests.

A two-fer this morning. At best, widely optimistic. Or the "I've tried to sell it, oh well" https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/bundle_i77028 https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/tokyo-marui-tm-416c-recoil_i77016

Ah fair enough. I was hoping for the opposite - a version with so many steel rails and attachments that only 5% of players can lift it
-
Yeah, i'm not one for fiddly stuff where you need 4 pairs of hands in different sizes. Rails and drop ins are fine, but something like a trigger box is just not worth the agro for me. Even my ngrs's go to a tech just for the ease of not having to dick around with it.

I've already lost half of those bits on the floor just by looking at them. TM are teasing us - since Jan they've done runs 17.3, 26, 26A and 22. I wonder if they could do a new 22.5. I'm sure they've already thought of that if the legal stuff is hampering 17.5
-
Is that lightweight as in real-steel lightweight setup, or airsoft lightweight (i.e. plastic, budget, sportline etc)
-
Yeah it was a vapex lp302. Put the wires above the barrel, the batts left and right and the connectors at 6 o'clock and its a squeeze but does all fit.
-
I have fitted a small nunchuck lipo on tamiya in a midwest grip(think it was vapex). It's super tight but doable - you have to run the wires on top of the barrel, and the battery at 4 and 8 o'clock. I might change them to the new plug to make more space, but that limits the battery compatibility between other mp5's, and also if i do it wrong and blow the fet, it be proper buggered. That said, i later moved the midwest grip to an A4 and went magpul on the A5.

He left the price tag on - rough sticker price is £27-29
-
Erghhh.... the maxim defense is one i really want, but being a TM fanboi i've already bought into the MWS mag ecosystem. Hopefully Salvo will have one soon.

He needs the 4x magnifier just to see the red dot

The UK airsoft subreddit is basically - "Do I need UKARA?" - "What's better, a Specna or Cyma?" - "Do i need UKARA to buy a Specna or Cyma?" The big airsoft reddit isn't much better. Its a bit circlejerky and people say that their friend's sister's dogsitter did this thing once and it worked, so therefore must be gospel. I had someone argue with me that an TM NGRS 74 mag would fit an AK storm because they did it with their arcturus AK, when I literally had both guns and mags in front of me showing the opposite.

It used to be my homepage, especially in the golden age of chinese clones - the news page was always ticking over when companies release press info and promo shots. Now in the age of social media and pushed content, manufacturers can just skip the middle man and show everything direct to consumers. Gonna miss it, despite not being there for years. It's like your primary school being torn down. Makes no difference in your day to day, but you still want it there.

I'm not too clued up on the inner workings of GBBRs, but from what I've read it's kind of a mish mash of off spec TM internals, VFC mags and a TDC hop up. In my head the brief was basically scrolling HRC to see what people say are the best things, then describe over the phone to a designer. edit: well pro (blue) vs archwick MWS trigger
-
The Well Pro is a strange one as it uses VFC mags but (so I'm told) is similar to the Zet system internally. Salvo is Double Eagle with a moustache and fake glasses ? same as APFG is to VFC
-
I’ve had the 11.5 in black and the fixed stock in my cart for the last 3 hours… not sure I can stomach it right now after buying 2 gbbr’s last month

Goodbye money

They’re retiring aren’t they?

So picked up a couple of GBBRs. WE M14 EBR, and then as a tax rebate present to myself, a GM 416a5 MWS. 416 is very light, so with the wife in mind, she could use it too (no, she didn’t believe me either) -
Wonder if he found those “hard men” he was looking for

Mine turned up today, 1 in vgc and one a bit more used, with more build up on the lens cap and glass. top tip - if you don’t have gun cleaner, toothpaste did a pretty good job of getting the worst off in the centre of the lens. But probably need something specialised to clean it properly -

Sigh… I just did the same. Don’t really need them but for £65 each it can’t be too bad.
