Are you a film maker working under a production company with various forms of insurance, indemnity etc?

The future is in the past, they weren’t all they were cracked up to be Spring powered boots worked out better than ‘rocket’ pistons

I’ve far too much to carry around, but I’ve carried many combinations I began carrying main and pistol, on a thigh holster But on the ‘just in case’ basis it was just extra weight If my main broke then I would be better off going out and fixing it However sometimes I would choose to go to pistol for a moment of fun On one stalemate line across a dry river bed I was observed to strip off my gear, taking off my vest, put down my main and walked off People wondered what I was up to and ignored me as no threat …… until some demented idiot came running back through the opposition line firing off single pistol shots after having crossed over in the distance There was the time at a rental game that I went out with just pistol, but failed to change 12 gram after being too busy chatting. Discovering that I was useless I did the sacrificial distraction running to the fort, but nobody shot me So I arrive at the fort, leant over waving an empty pistol and asked if anyone fancied surrendering - capturing the front half of a fort without firing a shot In defending a fort, the first time I was to use a pistol in game, I was sat in the corner of a tower covering the back door As the marshals began the final countdown to game end I emptied my main and couldn’t be bothered to reload ….. I then noticed a head pop around the door as they saw me put my gun down …. And in the 5,4,3… count suddenly three players run in the door …… so I grab the pistol sat beside me and pop pop pop, three guys are stopped in their footsteps

I did of course give that as something to consider If it sounds too good to be true then it usually is, and at the price shown probably was too good to be true and either some replica or something stolen Of course sometimes there are lucky purchases made of items very cheaply and legally where an easy sale can be made As @Johndaniel4863has also mentioned there are stolen goods going around, and recently on here was a reminder of goods going out of the QMs back door that found their way into Airsoft plus unsavory overseas buyers

Or ‘kick’ starting by hand with the other holding a spark plug against the engine to check the spark ? That put some energy into myself But in games there are tiny little moments where I still tell the tales 10, 15 or more years later

Exactly Not a win, but a case story of PayPal rules working and an example of the needs to ensure everything is documented, described properly et The PayPal perception of protecting the buyer is generally a myth, but the protection of each side is dependant on doing things ‘properly’. Some sellers are naive and don’t help themselves and lose very quickly to the unscrupulous When there’s a genuine problem there aren’t true winners, just an optimum result

Just keep it in mind that there are ‘Defences’ under legislation: Reenactment, museums, film & TV, Crown work, skirmishing etc These defences do not rely on any specific scheme, but for sales in the UK it’s up to the seller to comply So if you don’t have a UKARA number it is still possible to get yourself something to enable a purchase from one retailer or another I would definitely not recommend gambling on different methods to import as it all comes down to your responsibility - even ‘proper’ defences can fail at the border

Exactly We enjoy playing games about shooting people and getting shot at consensually for fun Once in a while I get my kicks from spraying a load of balls all over the place, mostly I like to sneak around a bit and fire off a few shots. More often than not I’ll get the perfect opportunity for a surprise shot but instead I’ll see how much closer I can get before anyone notices - which 9/10 times results in me getting shot at close range by a startled target. If you’re after the one in ten success, or the adrenaline rush of almost succeeding along with another war story then take out whatever’s going to be the most fun If you’re going to be demoralised if you don’t get your fair share of kills then load up with a reasonably ranged gun that has a decent rate of fire, can sustain a fair firefight and you can hit a barn door with Come out of the game smiling and you’ve won the day

Other than not touching with a barge pole there are two follow up actions: 1) Forget about it 2) Notify the police / RMPs From the information there are two likely possibilities - nothing exists and money will disappear, or there is an open door at the back of someone’s armoury The RMPs would be interested in the 2nd possibility

It should bounce / funnel into the back and down the pole Of course reality might not always occur

The simplest answer is to just get what already exists for the task, and will probably also be cheaper than making an alternative with PVC pipe An airgun pellet catcher is under £15: https://www.amazon.co.uk/pellet-catcher/s?k=pellet+catcher Or you could build something similar with a drain hopper which will cost less, at £10 or less, but it’s made of plastic so will end up getting broken at some point, and doesn’t have the in built angles in its design to reduce the risk of bounce back https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-universal-hopper-65-68mm-black/13847 To save a plastic system from being broken, and also to cut the noise of any material including a ‘proper’ pellet catcher is to line it with foam, material etc Other systems with varying levels of ‘temporary’ will be a box or bucket lined with something to absorb the unpack

He was also up to his tricks in paintball, which I’m sure was quite a long time ago One particular forum he had a go out no longer exists, but on another he is one of the people responsible for the implementation of certain rules. I can see some rule changes in 2018, but also references to rule changes as far back as 2014, 2013 and 2011 I’m going to hazard a guess that his activities dated back at least as far as the 2013 & 2014 ones - and I’m inclined to say that 2011 was an early attempt also related to him The only thing that makes me unsure was that there was also the ‘Sutton Coldfield triangle’ as opposed to NI Behind the scenes moderators between forums were keeping each other up to date on suspicions etc and Glennie was a frequently occurring name that still triggers the hairs on the back of my neck PPS. If you Google his name you can find mentions and a photo

It gets seen as a grey area, but the law affects the purchase / sale to over 18s only Possession / ownership isn’t covered by that so it is seen as legal for an airsoft to be gifted to you before you are 18 There must be no payment or other ‘compensation’ otherwise it wouldn’t qualify as being gifted Though gifting is seen as a grey area, in a slightly unrelated / semi related situation recently in paintball the UKPSF (recognised representative body for paintball) have consulted a barrister on legislation and ‘gifting’ to under 18s was seen as legal PS I trust that you are / will be over 14? There could be other legislation that could affect possession if you are under 14

This is setting the scene for free advertising when the papers pick up the story. The original post in a paintball forum dropped the name of a paintball site owner who was going to make all the arrangements This site owner is responsible for gems such as “job vacancy for paintball bullet tester” on a (pro rata) salary of £40,000 Which translated to zero hours contracted gopher who gets their photo taken being shot to be sent to the Daily Mail under the next headline “Student gets £40,000 job as paintball bullet tester” However to answer the original question - yes, airsoft hurts a lot less than paintball A suggested next route would be to enquire if the Gel blaster community is big enough yet to have a forum, then the Nerf tournament community

@Johndaniel4863will probably be a good help here. I would be inclined to tick for ‘RIF parts’ but stress the parts element for shroud only, and avoid too much in the UKARA /Defence area other than making it clear that it is for parts only which don’t require a defence Its interesting that the paintball section only refers to making a velocity compliance statement, and the airsoft skirmisher section is UKARA specific. Whether or not a paintball gun can be a RIF or not is a different discussion - a Home Office letter on that exists, and isn’t entirely conclusive

You had me worried there My ‘attachment view’ is still working, and I’m at about 78%

If both radios are tuned to the frequency’s within the licence then they can talk to each other

Don’t say the words ‘readily convertable’ Those are bad words. But of course it’s what the police may find something to be capable of, which doesn’t specify what projectiles are used (which is of course part of the point in the legislation) On your key point, I agree - I don’t believe that ‘joule creep’ is actually a thing, but that the equipment ought to be tested with the projectile. And that gives the relevant velocity / energy The underlying science is the same in relation to the energy put into a projectile, then there’s all the numerous effects of acceleration, friction etc Much simpler to fire a BB of x grams within the appropriate velocity that fits within the power limit

A bit of a call out - I know someone, who knows someone, who needs help at an Airsoft shooting gallery Is there anyone on here in the Weymouth area who likes the sound of helping run an Airsoft shooting gallery ?

Is that current or old? If current protect it at all costs and have it looked over I had one many years ago and took forever to get around to seeing the doctor, I just in time for an infection to properly kick off

There is a reasonable need for various types of supplies People might not be comfortable with ‘combat kit’ etc, and the main Ukraine forces don’t require them but many of the volunteers do & it could ‘assist’ to a degree to have some ‘proper’ kit to legitimise them as a unit as opposed to getting their pictures taken for propaganda purposes as a civilian with a gun In the longer term that could get resolved with international support For humanitarian support use your preferred known charity, however currently on the border I know a couple of guys if you’d like to see where your money is going on a day to day basis For example they have been providing supplies to the volunteers helping refugees as they cross the border and also are transporting refugees from the border to a processing centre They are both well known through paintball, and run airsoft events as well https://www.facebook.com/1410474989200829/posts/3136065433308434/?d=n

A little tip that will be most helpful is to ensure there are no badges, and ideally if items originally came from surplus check if the original users name is on it - if so scribble it out with marker pen
