  1. see that's a good point, i was chatting to someone the other day who said lipos can be dangerous and can catch fire if not treated correctly....so made me think about batteries when the time comes!
  2. and i still have all this to come! thank god its posted now....of course i'll still be confused come the time! Is this a general thing or does it really change on person to person, as in could we have a simple battery guide topic for new starters?....or have i missed it?
  3. i could bring her along, just say we are going shopping and then do a runner!, there is a kids play area as well so they will be fine haha in fact, im gonna look at dates and speak to my brother and some friends, get a few newbies (+ a few games) for you guys to shoot!
  4. just googled the place, is it really that big!? i must get there and play! will have to be real nice to the wife....only a few hours by car!
  5. oooh could easily carry that around!..... now i need an umbrella and drinks table!
  6. mmmmmm....dribble! haha do they do cheap ovens!.....long story!
  7. aaaarh good idea....never thougth of that! just need to obtain one, need to pop in to outlaws and see whats in their garage i think! i'll get that bluepeter badge! haha rather not spend any more money as wife will kill me!, Oven decided to die so thats gonna push my first AEG to another month
  8. Hi guys, i guess a few of you wear knee pads for a lot of the sites. I found my old volleyball pads, and they will do for my next game, unless any one can recommend any? but, my Helikon trousers (and i know others brands do to) have the insert for knee pads I looked at the Helikon ones on-line, they need to be cut as i have SFU trousers but only seem to be 6mm neoprene. Are there any special requirements or recommendations to this or can i just go but a load of neoprene from amazon and cut to suit? anyone made DIY pads??
  9. haha! yeah i checked the size guide again now, as its in my desk draw, still come up as XL ,dead on, not going to worry to much, whats a thumb between friends!
  10. i may ask some silly questions....but it helps others, that's my excuse :) haha

Better to ask silly questions than give silly answers....

Oh no wait, that may apply to me depending on what mood I am in, ignore that.

  11. could be, wish there was a shop nearby to try on, im sure it will be fine, i like the tight fitting on the fingers, sort of hugging as it allows a better touchy feely type thing....ok i'll stop there! just curious how others get on dont worry, 2 weeks time it will be first AEG and battery suggestions.....Raider a mo.....or G36....
  12. guys, quick one,....bit of a silly question really! I have some Viper gloves, just general ones but fit ok, cant complain, in XL ive just got some Mechanix M-pact gloves. Used the size chart online to be sure etc., came up as XL Now they fit fine on the fingers, feel 'tight' not lose around fingers which is good i guess for better feel of things but top of thumb seems to be floppy Not sure if i should send them back for a size bigger or smaller size, as in should the thumb be a better fit? don't want to keep posting back and fourth tbh if i can help it Do other makes come up like this with some people or is it just the cut of glove, hands etc and not worth worrying about p.s i do expect the stretch thumb, cut thumb type answers!!! haha
  13. cheers Deek, that's one excellent reply and has also helped me understand it more, thanks for your time to write it!
  14. cheers guys, great replies! i'll let the old man know!
  15. Not that it will matter soon to me anyway but...... When UKARA / VCRA laws were born in the days, was there a reason why anyone who owns a shotgun or has a shotgun/firearms certificate (i believe they are becoming one now?) that is vetted by the Police, was not allowed to own a RIF as one of the exceptions? My dad was more curious when i told him about it, as i myself, and i guess others, have a certificate Seems odd that i can buy shotgun cartridges and a new shot gun for clay pigeon shooting easier than a RIF Like i said, im not to worried, but more curious when he mentioned it (im not fully clued up on the law and only know the very very basics!)
  16. Dont worry when i first read it i got confused with the length for 3 games, people told me 'different ' things until i actually asked the marshall at UA. 1st game for me was 11th July so my 3rd has to be after 11th Sep, so by 3rd october i should have it! After that i'll sort it out and pop between a few sites as i have been told by the boss sundays are a better day to shoot people (a little annoying as the UA games are sat! )
  17. nice buys! my time will come!....wife seems to be warming to more sunday games instead on Saturdays....result! for me, some more gloves, nothing special.....roll on October!...don't fancy a blinged up blue gun ....I can wait!
  18. yeah i have an old mac thing you roll up and pack...or a mackapacka!...funny enough its in mulitcamogramtp style, got it in 2006 i think, only thing is you do sweat in it.....
  19. its been a bit wet recently and last game i played it was very hot.... as ive yet to play over the autumn/winter months, hoping mid sep will be warm and dry!! what do you guys do when its raining, cold etc? MTP smock ok?? Do you get to hot with the various items of clothing/protection on? anyone go for Gortex and sweat it out?! I spoke to a guy who plays at Tuddenham, he just wears a t-shirt, ubacs and vest as he gets hot running around? curious what the regulars do?
  20. welcome to the forum, Ask away, you'll get good answers and bad answers, answers you want to hear and some you don't!, a little bit of off topic for a few posts!!, but its all harmless fun! first AEG, well seems to me the G&G Raider is the preferred starter gun and you can add to it, which is on my list with a few others anyway like the G36,, i'll ask the questions when the times comes as the batteries and charger bit is now what im trying to understand more! eye pro, don't skimp, but again a big selection as is full/half/some face protection all come down to what your comfy with and if you want your teeth a few hours later! I have the V2 half face/ear protection and nuprol mesh goggles.....next person may only wear ballistic glasses...
  21. 'Most important is that my wife does not know just how much I have spent on airsoft to date' - yeah that's why my 901 chest rig and other items were £40 from a place on amazon with a voucher used!.....haha i'll keep your secret safe!
  22. keep us posted......i'll have to go through this later in the year! haha
  23. saw a guy on youtube who was fitting lower mesh/goggles to his helmet , the strap for adjustment was a twist one like cycle helmets, any idea what make?, I take it all the copies around £30 dont have this?, all Ive seen so far is loads of padding on the inside.....my head is around L on cap/boonies so I think 7 1/2? so when the time comes for one to be purchased, like to have a bit more of a heads up!......no pun intended! haha
  24. how do I fit it all in...well I looked into it many years ago, some on here prob in nappies then! haha.... until July this year I hadn't been to a game, now im counting down...3 weeks now...until my 2nd game ive always been interested and read forums over the last year, I just wish I had got to a game sooner! now I have 2 children and married with house stuff to do etc., kids to entertain etc, with wifey going back to work one day a week, as long as I tell her, she'll let me go, so im looking at atleast once every 4 to 6 weeks!, full or half day games depending....
