  1. cheers guys, crossed that off the list, now to look at the warrior range more in-depth while i have time.... that's what's good with the forum, been on many of various types, even some of the early airsoft ones (still got a kevlar helmet off some guy for some reason and some old vests in US woodland...not sure why haha!), you get advice from the masses! , ok, you know what i mean but you get everyone's opinion to take in whether you want to hear it or not and that's good as it could save you a lot of stress and hassle down the line and helps* others !....plus i wanna make sure i get good value for money so need some advice from the pros! my bro can go for the cheaper ones as he seems to borrow my stuff anyway..... * spelling, it was early and im at work so in a rush!
  2. cheers guys, not done it! awaiting an email from UKT about some vests, its the size im worried about but will see got it, camo bottom, other colour top....tbh, it will prob be all out!! I think ive seen the clone but i'll take a look anyway, little bro may want it
  3. cheers for that, have a cheap black balaclava and a tan headover to use, only a cap so far on head, looking into that, boonie possibly or the usual helmet, still a learning curve for me!.... so much whizzing around me head!
  4. i have a pair of nuprol mesh goggles/glasses http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-glasses-and-goggles/we-europe-nuprol-shades-mesh-glasses-eye-protection-black.htm#.Vbh8kPlVhBc http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-glasses-and-goggles/we-europe-nuprol-pro-mesh-goggles-eye-protection-black.htm#.Vbh8pPlVhBc found the glasses to small for my fat had, so may give them to my son to play in at home..... only my first game but im possibly going to try lens goggles next to see if my vision is any better instead of looking through mesh? Prefer full eye protection as you know a ricochet is going to get me in the side of my eye! for my face, i didnt want to use the hire face masks as stated above and i wasnt keen on them, i knew id go back so invested and as my brother and friends told me on the day, they sweated in them so went for this, http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/half-face-airsoft-protection/8-fields-mesh-lower-face-ear-protection-tan.htm#.Vbh9RPlVhBc all good on the day, just need to get used to it. Can hurt towards then end on the bridge of the nose but someone menstioned adding padding to it only trouble i did have was i couldn't look down the sights very well, may just be me and the M4 i had on the day any other ear protection out there people know about? with the goggles to buy next i'll look at maybe neoprene type masks for some ear protection and a lower face mask?...like others i dont want to loose teeth! Is there alternative protection for ears? as mentioned, trial and error is the way, but for eyes, make sure they can stand up to it and not some cheap lensed versions, you dont get another set of eyes so one area you should take seriously
  5. take the jump and go!.....i waited (or wasted!!) years, im talking since 2001 to actually get to a site (other factors were involved, work, family, sport, hesitant etc ), due to that, the law changed, places closed, new ones popped up!. Ive been once so far and will be going back after the summer hols, a few places now in mind, 6 i think, all within an hours drive so ideal to mix it up! agree with the guys about talking, i found a few were a little 'not wanting to talk much' but others wouldnt stop, you get a great mix which is why its so fun! don't hold back, you'll regret it, i have!, go go go and don't look back! fixed spelling mistake and 'wouldnt stop corrected!
  6. cheers guys, i'll have a look around more i was looking at this or this....not sure what diff is yet between mk1 and mk2 as not looked into it!....but also may go plain vest and camo accessories! http://www.ukmcpro.co.uk/Bulldog-Assault-MK1-Plate-Carrier-MTC-Military/p/4/3/190345/ http://www.ukmcpro.co.uk/Bulldog-Assault-MK2-Plate-Carrier-MTC-Military/p/4/3/190347/ still unsure what im wearing, plus my brother will probably want to use it, as i have a mix of stuff so may just go like a tramp and wear what suits on the day!, camo top half plain bottom half.... back to t'internet!
  7. hi guys, rather than hijack other topics thought I best start a new one, did a search and nothing came up...although fairly rushed tonight as wife will be down soon and I need to post!!! haha Anyone bought any of the Bulldog kit from UKMCPro or elsewhere? curious as I was going to spend about £200 on some various items including plate carrier (with pouches, seemed a good deal?) but the MTP/Muticam part is confusing me slightly under the options as I believe there is a slight difference?. Im hoping as its all 'Bulldog' it will all look the same and its just the general 'colour' they use for the descriptions, so anything else I want to add in the future will need to be Bulldog? Im under the impression the Bulldog kit is made to look more like British MTP than US Multicam?, has anyone any experience with the various types first hand?..... thanks in advance
  8. cheers for the replies guys, 2 guns it will be! (like the idea, although with my aim 5fps isnt gonna make a lot of difference! ) i'll check youtube again, i could be mistaken with what happened as i didnt think it was motor related (M16, changed part at top, at work i have small windows open of certain sites so as not to attract to much attention! ) ok off to brooooowse.....
  9. Cheers, will do, i'll do some more looking around and question asking!. I think as a first purchase or few, i'll stick to a UK based shop, fps of 2 sites is 345 / 350 so will need to be min 345 i did see a YouTube clip where someone changed the M16 motor it think which allowed a change in fps from indoor to outdoor play, im still catching up after years but is it that simple or does it vary from RIF to RIF make??
  10. good little topic!...having similar issues myself although have a few months to decide as 2 more games to fit it (wish kids would go back!)....G36, MP5 M4 other!....so its best to stay away from Cyma then?, what about JG?
  11. right time to browse and buy.....

  12. Hi guys, Sorry if this has been posted, ive been searching and reading but yet to come across the right info so far....still looking i was looking at a carrier, saw something i liked the look of on amazon similar to this but another seller (may be ebay now, been a long week!) but hesitant and wanted some advice from the regulars? http://www.amazon.co.uk/AQURE-Tactical-Military-Assault-Carrier/dp/B00UJ5EQYW/ref=sr_1_1?&s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1437140828&sr=1-1&keywords=plate+carrier now ive read its better to spend a bit more as the quality can be better, but also some places seem to have risen the price for the sake of it so not always getting good value, but with 2 children, i have to try and balance it out tbh Anyone recommend any suppliers to buy or brand names to look at or avoid? where they have had good service, something for 6'1, eeeer large but not fat guy, kinda want it to come down to belt line if possible as these seem to be more chest type? Its more the size issue really, i'd like to find a shop i can physically try one on, i guess next game may be possible if i ask someone as i dont want to keep sending it back and forth! any way sorry!!, back to searching the web in the mean time!
  13. cheers SD, have been re-reading up on it, asking questions, little confused at one point and then had it explained at the end which was good!.. Shouldn't be a problem really, my bro liked UA so i can see it being a regular thing, but also fancy RIFT in Cottenham as i can cycle there so suits family commitments if needed...hopefully! .... 1st things first i guess, i'll get UKARA first
  14. well brothers stag do went well on sat, i got my first game signed off so trying to book in a 2nd, although family commitments this may only be a half day here and there (can i do that anywhere or does it need to be the same place for 3 games for UKARA?) Brother and a few of his mates enjoyed it (told them they would) so are looking to come back....well done Urban assault!
  15. Hi guys, So after a few posts elsewhere I thought I best pop in here and explain myself! I first looked at Airsoft back in 1999/2000 but I never got around to actually doing anything about it, I joined various mailing lists and still to this day, read the FFZ one… Does Airsoft Armouries still exist (not google yet!) Time passed ,the laws changed, girlfriend became fiancée, fiancée became wife and 2 lovely children arrived, i got fatter and as many know your priorities in life change. My brother has a stag do coming up, luckily they chose airsoft, at one fairly local, Urban Assault….so it got me back into the idea of trying again as I’ll actually be able to go J Out came the old clothing and bits I had collected a long time ago from the parents loft where it has been for a few odd years…so fairly dated!, may not use as it seems you can wear what you like, although old clothes in case of snagging, I have variations so im prepared!….didn’t realise I had two old US carry all vests and a kevlar helmet! Haha…..suppose I can get rid of them somewhere! So hopefully this will be one of many posts and I’ll see a few of you at various sites throughout the year….nearest to me is the RIFT woodland/training site but I live near Cambridge so I’ll look for a few more…..Fenland Airsoft….one near Cavenham? Ok better go, work to do!
  16. just ordered some alternatives ,then i'll send others back....probably spending a bit much before first game but i have a feeling it WONT be my last and i'd like to be comfortable while shooing my brother on his stag do!... Looked at all this in the days you could buy what you wanted easily ,no questions asked!!....oh how times have changed!
  17. very similar to what i just got from Patrol base (just been delivered!). http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-glasses-and-goggles/we-europe-nuprol-shades-mesh-glasses-eye-protection-black.htm#.VZ0gG_lVhBd http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/half-face-airsoft-protection/8-fields-mesh-lower-face-ear-protection-tan.htm#.VZ0hTvlVhBc Although due to first game, basics provided anyway, i thought id still get some incase im not comfortable with a full face mask. having tried them on in the toilet at work ....did find the googles a little smaller than expected with mask on (so may need to get the others ones?...will try at home later, i guess safety first and comfort follows...
  18. roll on the weekend!
