  2. Correct - they all do, and they all have to by law Both due to pressurised containers and due to hazardous materials The carrier becomes liable for the unknown contents of their packages on our roads and airways People disregarding the rules and making false declarations are also the reason for ‘empty’ canisters being subject to the same rules. Even a dismantled HPA cylinder & regulator will be hard to find a willing carrier for a private sender - and once found will cost a few ££ (Some would try to defend themselves that UK postage won’t go by air, despite much of the internal mail going by air for speed, and then complained that packages became seized and destroyed) A starter is The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2009/1348/contents Carriers pretty much prohibit private senders, and require business senders to use appropriate methods under contracts. Proper declarations, and appropriate methods cost money Search

  3. Migration is happening middle of next week (Tuesday through Thursday). The old forums will be made accessible in a read only mode for a few weeks afterwards, but again the plan is to move as much data as possible anyway. For the avoidance of doubt: accounts and posts will carry over as well as any existing threads, but probably nothing else. You will be able to log into your existing account as normal.

  4. @ShirtLessScottishGuy not cringey at all, the seller hasn't demanded ukara, the key word he has used is "ideally", no doubt that would be the easiest option for HIM to check ?. He does state that potential buyers will need to meet current legislation in some form, & does so at the start of the thread, obviously stop all the timewasters & chancers that cant prove a defense wasting his time, half term is just ending after all 😏 #trigger alert & Thank god nobody mentioned a "license" 😜

  5. 👋🏻Hey everyone! Thought I’d introduce myself my name is David, but on the field I go by Foreign Airsofter. I’m originally from Latvia, and after serving in the French Foreign Legion, the nickname “Foreign Airsofter” just felt right a little nod to both where I come from and my time in service. For years I wanted to get into Airsoft, but life always seemed to get in the way. Finally, at the beginning of this year, I decided it was time to jump in and I’ve been playing as much as I can ever since! How it all started I built a campervan in the UK, and my partner and I set off on a nearly 3-month road trip around Europe. On my birthday during that trip, I decided to treat myself I bought my first Airsoft rifle and officially started my Airsoft journey! Originally, I wanted to go down the sniper route, but after doing some research and chatting with more experienced players, I decided to start with an AEG. I picked up a Tokyo Marui HK416D, and I absolutely love it it’s almost identical to the one I used during my time in the French Foreign Legion. When I got back to the UK, I dug out my old army uniform from the attic, grabbed a chest rig and helmet off AliExpress, strapped a GoPro to my head and hit the UCAP Bunker with just one mag and had an absolute blast! I even recorded that first game for my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ForeignAirsofter Since then… My collection has definitely grown (I’ve even managed to get my dad hooked on Airsoft 😄). I keep telling my missus I keep “winning” new gear somehow, but for some reason she’s not buying that excuse! Funny story before my very first game, I actually took my HK416 apart just to understand how it worked, and that’s where my interest in tinkering and upgrading began. I’ve since added a sniper rifle to my loadout and really enjoy both playstyles. I love big outdoor fields and Milsim events, though I don’t mind a good CQB session now and then. I used to play regularly at Ground Zero and UCAP Bunker, but I’ve recently moved to South Wales so I’m looking forward to checking out the local sites and meeting more like minded players in the area! I did use a my fried GPT to make my gibberish easier to read ahha

  7. https://prefired.co.uk/ads/tier-1-professional-operators-package/ It was on the Featured tab and honestly the price isn't terrible, it's a GBLS DAS if you swing that way. It's just the wankiest title I've ever seen.

  8. https://prefired.co.uk/ads/aap-01c-custom-build/ You'd think after eight months of this thing simply *not selling*, he'd have dropped the price or something. Maybe broken it down into parts. Anything to actually shift it. Which I find really funny, because the only reason I can think of for still demanding a high price for this thing is that he genuinely believes he cooked some gourmet shit here. This is his artistic vision, and it cannot be altered or broken up. And it's awful.

  9. AF-UK will be migrating to new forum software within the next few weeks. You may notice a difference in the appearance and functionality of the forums, but your posts and content will carry over. The Classifieds will be wiped and rebuilt (this includes feedback), but will be available immediately after migration. The current forum software has become a huge headache The forums run on software called IPB. Back in 2023 IPB decided to discontinue their marketplace, and ever since this has meant maintaining certain code without the assistance of authors of the various 3rd party plugins that we use for things like The Classifieds, small moderation tools and other minor tweaks that you likely don't notice like dead thread protection. Without these modules it's impossible to maintain the current rendition of AF-UK without dropping certain large features. A lot of you joined the forums for The Classifieds, and many of you solely use the forums for them so it's untenable that many of the modules that AF-UK uses don't work properly with the latest versions of IPB. We're moving to new software Migration could take as little as a week but may take up to three weeks. Downtime when the migration happens should be less than 24 hours. The new Classifieds will be more reliable and should have a few extra features when it releases with the new forums. The forums themselves will remain largely unchanged. Some data will be lost, but most will remain Although all of your accounts and posts will be retained, many items such as feedback and current classifieds listings will be wiped. Please use the next week or so to save any data that you may need as nothing is guaranteed given the age of the AF-UK database. There is still a small possibility that a full forum wipe will need to take place, but this is very unlikely.
