Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

The bit that makes me laugh is the way it's described as "high end" when half of it is chinese clones. Don't get me wrong, some of the budget friendly kit can be really good value for money but to call it high end is taking the piss3 points -

Was at Section 8 last week with some guns I got from the Midlands Airsoft Fair among the usual loadout. Ran the S&T Lee-Enfield during the warmup, turns out the extractor(?) on the bolt was loose enough to come off and caused a serious jam. Very grateful to the tech guys who got it working again. At least I had a charged battery for my Aug, which worked brilliantly for a first run. Managed to get a teammate in the ear when he crossed as I was shooting.? On the good side, the pistols worked fine, though the Vorsk Defender safety seems to have jammed in the off position.2 points -

Went today to rift Blackstone cqb with a small group of 4. What can I can, such a great set up they have there and very well managed by the staff. If you haven't been before it's basically a whole town build inside a storage warehouse fully complete with loads of static furnishings to make it look genuine. It was my first game with my new vfc hk416a5 and got to say I love this gun for sure, was the perfect main weapon for this environment. First game of the day was a capture the flag game, one team started upstairs sporn and other team in the down stairs sporn, 4 flags to capture, I was on blue team, first run of this game was a draw and then after 20min a quick change around and start from the other sporn, unfortunately we lost this round with just 1 flag to 3 red flags. This site it's self has so much potential and so many opportunities for different scenarios, especially with their full light and sound control of the area so they can make it look day light then next game night time, throw in some appropriate sound effects like dogs barking, planes flying overhead, lightning sounds and lighting. Really made the game for me. Would fully recommend this site to any cqb nuts.2 points -

Want to get into Airsoft

Welcome! There are a good few sites in Essex though you'll likely have to come closer south. I'd suggest taking a look at this site to find yourself a site to play at. https://playairsoft.uk/map This sticky topic is worth you having a butcher's. Don't worry about going on your tod. The airsoft community is largely supportive and will be happy to help guide you on your first few games - the more you play, the more likely you'll play with and against the same people so there will be good camaraderie found soon enough. I get on really well with a fellow I more often than not play against. In terms of gear, much of it will be a learning experience for you. Advice on what you equip will be hugely personal and you'll have to discover what works for you over time. I'd say there are 3 key points when you plan getting started. Don't skimp on eye protection. Absolutely do not buy it from Ali Express, Wish or Temu - you are playing a huge gamble with your eyesight that just isn't worth what little saving you will make. Even with Amazon and eBay, fakes are sold frequently. You're best off buying from an airsoft retailer where their supply chain will only give EN166 or Z87 compliant eye pro. You don't even have to spend huge amount of money. You can get perfectly suitable eye pro for under £20. A decent pair of boots with ankle cover is recommended. You can walk on uneven terrain frequently or put your foot in a literal rabbit hole. They may not prevent you from breaking an ankle but they can help prevent less serious an injury. You're best off doing rental rather than buying a gun to start with in case you decide it's not for you. You can buy a two-tone to get started but there is a consistent story where reselling it becomes very difficult and loses more money than expected. Some sites have their own shops so you can handle the RIFs available if they have them or it may be worth you visiting an airsoft shop to get that hands-on feel. If you have any questions after you've done that reading, do let us know.1 point -
You can sell for whoever you like, but responsibility lies solely with you. To that end, I would say don't divulge that you're an intermediary unless asked a question you cannot immediately answer, for one it doesn't inspire confidence in a seller or item, it plants the seed of doubt regarding responsibility should the item, for example an aeg, turn out to be a lemon. That in turn opens up another can of worms, if someone sells on behalf of a third party, deals done & moneys passed to the owner, & then the aeg implodes on its first outing a week later, is the 3rd party gonna return the funds ?. Its a bit of a minefield?1 point

To be fair, this is the only forum I've ever known that allows any critiquing of a sales thread, so we need to be happy with that i guess. Tbh I can't see anyone rushing forward with £3k+ screaming "take my money", & if someone did, they'd only have themselves to blame for not doing their due diligence & getting turned over.1 point

He might have had better luck if they read the adverts they were messaging about... I was told his fiend had a Sig.... Which is a shame as I was looking for something completely different1 point -
Probably from a part of the world where the average take home pay is less than 10% of the UK equivalent, so to him if he throws out enough "hooks", one bite will elevate his standard of living considerably, & if he gets a few ?, he'll live like a king. While despicable, you can't blame them for trying, maybe blame the idiots who enable them by falling for their spiel.1 point
