Rule 5 update

Afternoon guys, while we appreciate some of you have embraced the recent rule changes with no issues, we're still getting new members that are failing to read the rules (& probably won't read this😏), as well as a lot of existing members that are renewing ads that existed before the December 1st rule change, but haven't updated their pictures with at least one picture showing items for sale & the inclusion of a piece of paper with the username & date handwritten on it.

For anyone who can't be arsed, don't worry, we'll also get to the point soon where we can't be arsed to send reminders, we'll just nuke the threads, never to be seen again. 

What also needs to be considered is that some of the notes are written in the smallest handwriting with pens with tiny tips, we don't have spectrum microscopes to blow them up in order to be able to read them, so bigger writing with something like a sharpie marker would be great.

If in doubt, consider if you were the buyer & you couldn't make out the name, you might not bother enquiring further.

 

Everyone needs to get on board with this, irrespective of time here & forum feedback, we've seen a marked decline of scam attempts reported so hopefully this is starting to make a difference.

I'm glad you've implemented this - I've always been in the habit of adding my username and date to almost all or my for sale threads so won't affect me.

I would also add, please make your hand written note on the first photo so I don't have to scroll through 7 photos to the end to find the bit of paper 

 

Also, I've been nuking threads, whilst some mods may be more considerate I don't see how you can't not see the big red banner at the top, there's zero excuse

Take the approach that the Airgun Forums use - absolute zero tolerance.

 

People will either fall into line or go somewhere else. And it's really not that hard to scrawl a note with a username and date on it for the photos.

I appreciate what @Jez_Armstrong is saying regarding the first photo to be inclusive of the timestamp.

I only recently discovered that you are able select the first photo, so I doubt most of the plebs will discover this feature moving forwards. 
It should simply be on all, doesn’t take much creativity 👍

Yep, initially it doesn't impact them but it does show everyone that their naughty boys, girls, & them/they (aka hpa & dsg wankers 😜), & highlights repeat offenders.

Doesn't apply to me as I'm not a seller or a MOD but I reckon the rule 5 banner has been a long enough warning so you should just delete the add, if anyone challenges it simply post them a link to this thread.

Nor am I but I figure if the mods didn't want the rest of us to be able to see and comment then this thread wouldn't be visible to us peasants
