First gun decision, too much choice

Hey, I'm new to air softing, currently doing skirmishes so I can register with ukara to get a replica rifle.

I'm finding it a nightmare to find a gun, there's just so much choice

I'd like to spend max around £180, and then buy a few accessories, I'm thinking flash light, laser and reflex sight.

I'd happily buy a good condition second hand rifle too if anyone knows of any good ones?

I think the m4 is what I tend to look at the most.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

buy a G&G cm16 carbine. Pretty much everyone will say it. get a 7.4v lipo and accucel 6 charger and off you go. I have that loudout, and it is very accurate/totally worth it!

In addition to the above I would say don't bother with the sight or the laser (especially the laser). Save your money for extra mags/chest rig/eye protection.

Oh and +1 on the G&G CM16.

A cheap red dot sight is worth it. Laser definitely not and a torch only for CQB in dark buildings. Lasers are useless as the ones you are allowed to use are not powerful enough to give any advantage, if you can see the dot, you're close enough to shoot the target without aiming too hard. A red dot sometimes helps if you have problems using ironsights with goggles on.

G&G Combat Machine 16 or an ICS Sportline M4 are decent platforms to start with. Both are reliable and sturdy guns that can be obtained quite cheaply around £150.

Think snuff had a metal ICS for sale on here.

Edit: Here it is!

It's best to use your gun first and then decide if you need the attachments. An optic is always a good choice but you might not need a laser or a flashlight.

+1 to what Lozart said. Make sure you buy decent quality eye protection! For example, anything from here:

Bolle goggles are a brilliant choice because they are very affordable but they are good quality and they will protect your eyes.

If you want extra magazines I would look to Hong Kong sites such as eHobby Asia. You can get a pack of five King Arms mid-capacity M4 magazines for about £27 shipped but in the UK they would probably cost £35-£50.

I would also recommend either a G&G Combat Machine or a KWA CQR.

KWA CQR Review:

KWA CQR:

G&G Combat Machine (Transparent - looks better than orange + no UKARA needed!)

Sorry for all the links! Hope this helps! Welcome to the forums by the way.
