  1. Have been on the spend again.... Just received the gun back from Fire Support, all internals have been upgraded to bring the FPS up to 345 as out of the box as standard was firing 298 fps. The brief was that I wanted a little more range & a little more powerful so the upgrades should do the trick. Complementing the new upgrades, I decided to treat myself to an Elcan Specter DR sight (Replica) courtesy of Blackwolvesairsoft. - That's right... Another sight /scope! I will be putting the gun through it's paces on Sunday, looking forward to it seeing the results accordingly!
  2. Here's my set up. I use mesh goggles being a sweaty git so no fogging, face wise I wear a mask to compliment the mesh goggles, this covers all of my face & ears and then I wear a fast helmet as I've been twatted in the forehead a few times. It may be a bit of an overkill for some, but for me it gives me confidence & I'm find i'm always willing to charge face on in battle. I've recently bought a Go Pro with mount which fits in the fast helmet with no issues.
  3. Would be genuinely interested to know why the Bulldog Bb's are not recommended. I've been using them for some time & not had any issues, however would be open to peoples thoughts & steer as my experience within Airsoft is fairly limited Thanks in advance
  4. I wear a set of mesh goggles with a lower face mask combined so my face is full covered, I must admit when I first started it Airsoft I only wore the glasses, however after being twatted in the face a couple of times at close range I kept finding myself turning my back to anyone coming face on at close range which obviously wasn't good, so I opted for the mask, whilst it does have it's down sides I personally feel a lot more confident wearing it & am certainly a hell of a lot braver when face on at close proximity.
  5. Good point and there's a reason for it, I wear a face mask & looking down the length of sight whilst having my cheek pressed against the gun etc. is quite challenging & isn't instant, so sticking the bug buster on the side means I don't press my cheek against anything & not obscuring my sight!
  6. You guys - it's all about the meme's! Any how despite the p**s taking (I was thinking Inception... a sight within a sight within a sight.... Yes three layers!) the two sights suit my style of game play, this set up is when i'm skirmishing in dense woodland as I like to camp (Yes i'm a camper), the bug buster helps me with some spotting at distance through the dense woodland & for those that creep up the green dot does what it needs! For more open skirmishing (UCAP Sandpit etc.) it's just the green dot! Feeling that I'm needing to justify my necessity for my sight obsession!
  7. Not particularly heavy, the green dot sight weighs nothing at all so balances the two out. I'm far from what would be considered as strong (Fairly feeble actually!) and generally have no issues here.
  8. Here's a picture of my gun...... TM HK416D Devgru, have added a Green dot sight for closer targeting as well as a bug buster for longer range targeting. She's currently in at Fire Support having some upgrades to take the FPS to 345, looking forward to getting her back & putting to good use
  9. This Airsofting is an addictive thing, have been spending again! Decided to add a Green Dot / Laser sight to my gun, balancing it with the 3x9x32 bug buster (Which is up for sale!) for both a CQB sight as well as longer range spotting opportunities. My poor wallet!!
  10. Been putting the finishing articles into my Woodland Vegetato loadout, this months purchases have been:- Woodland Vegetato Plate Carrier, all the way from Austria in less than 4 days! & a Viper Assault helmet in green. Just waiting on the green goggles and then my load out is fully complete!
  11. Thanks for the steer, will take a gander in due course Mike
  12. Hi, do you guys have a website I could look at regarding game dates etc? Thanks in advance Mike
  13. Lots of good advice as already mentioned. Being relatively new to Airsoft myself, I thought I'd share a couple of my points:- First time is really an eye opener, I bought plenty of kit (minus guns) prior to my first skirmish, subsequently learnt a hell of a lot on my first skirmish such as normal glasses goggles were no good as I'm the worlds sweatiest man, so I needed some mesh goggles with accompanying headband to help catch the sweat from my brow, subsequently have also bought a hydration pack to replenish throughout. Secondly for me was that I needed a face mask... Whilst being twatted in the face wasn't the most painful feeling, I did feel at some point during the day I lost confidence and subsequently turned my back when being fired upon and was reluctant to stand face on or charge when bei fired upon, so for me the addition of a mask sorted the confidence & lack of pain issues. Using the rentals on your first outing I personally think helps you define what type of gun you want & what style shooter you'll become, like quite a few on here I really liked the idea of a bit of camping / sniping action, however in actuality the running / charging being able to shoot off multiples geared me into wanting an AEG moreso. Ultimately - Sounds a bit clichéd but enjoy yourself, I really didn't know what to expect as I had a crap experience with paint balling previously, but I found everyone who attended our local site was like minded, welcoming of the rookies and generously shared information & hints and tips. Enjoy your time - I'm sure you'll be hooked in no time at all!
  14. Ok, so I've only been into Airsoft for a couple of months, but am totally hooked, just picked this gun up today along with the scope & everything else (Mags / Batteries etc. etc.) Suffice to say, i've had a case of open wallet surgery today!!
  15. Great review Jez, Looking into a ghille suit, i've already got Mil-Tec camo gear which from a quality perspective is top notch, given the suit is only a tad over £30 as well then it's amazing value for money. Checked your pics, yep… you're definitely hidden alright! Keep up the great work Mike
  16. Hi all, First post so breaking in gently! As mentioned already, Apocalypse Airsoft (Detling, Kent) is a great site, have attended there a few times now so much so that they've now submitted my UKARA application form (Woohoo!) It's purely woodland & clearings within etc. set on 80 odd acres of land. Have found this a great site for skirmishing, guys who run the events are great, welcoming and helpful to the noobs! A few friends are signing up for Pit @ Bluewater for the 31st August, gotta say from the youtube vids I've seen, it looks amazing and can't wait to to attend! I'm hoping to have my UKARA number before then so I can buy my gun…. HK416D Devgru custom, have got everything else but just need my number!! Looking forward to the banter on here Thanks Mike
