  1. I personally can't fault the 0.25 Blasters, used these in a night game earlier in the year, found them very useful at dusk when firing at targets underneath woodland coverings - gave you much better sight in the travel of your BB. When it was full darkness, again, really useful as you can see the direction of the travel, gave you confidence of what you were firing at, as mentioned though, did give away my position, but blast & move kept me ahead of the opposition ;-). I use the TM tracer unit with my Devgru 416. What I did notice with this unit was that the light emitted from the unit did seem to be a tad less than other variant of tracers that were being used on the evening. Cool piece of kit & worth the money imho. Mike
  2. As already mentioned - We're very fortunate in Kent, have a multitude of sites worth checking out, plenty of Airsoft teams attend these events so i'm sure you'll be able to find a team you could buddy up with. Although - Why be a sheep when you can be a wolf?! - Why not start your own team? Sites worth checking out in Kent:- After Dark CQB - As it states, pure CQB site run in the evenings in a dedicated (I think in doors setting) - run by a guy called John who is thought of very highly in the Kent Airsfot scene. Apocalypse Airsoft - Huge site, great set of features / buildings, well established & a great all rounder - Generally it's the only place where I skirmish. Bush Valley Airsoft - Another huge woodland site - fairly new but the guys are developing the site weekly, great thing about here is that they're really trying to be unique with the missions etc. - Worth a look UCAP Sandpit - Fantastic break from the norm, very different setting based in a quarry, use of the buildings / army vehicles etc. really does bring a different dimension from the usual Woodland sites There's plenty of others as well, but these 4 in my mind & the stand out ones Hope it helps Mike
  3. I own the 416D Devgru - Like others this is my first gun so have no basis for comparison. I had a few sensible minor upgrades carried out which takes the FPS on 0.25's to around the 340ish mark as well as giving me that little more distance I needed. The Sopmod batteries i've also had upgraded with larger capacity internal batteries - whilst they're not cheap, they fit as they should with no hanging wires etc. & have never had any failures. Whilst I don't skirmish as much as I would like too - the gun runs faultlessly time & time again, feels & looks great which was everything I was after. Price-wise I don't think they're that expensive, given the consistency & performance, now if we're talking about expensive I keep on eyeing up the Ares AMP DSR-1 V2 Gas Sniper Rifle at a bargain price of £900 - now that's expensive!
  4. These are quite a rarity i'm afraid - You're best bet might be to have a conversation with a site & see if you could work with them to pull something together. I took this approach with Apocalypse Airsoft (Detling, Kent) & we had an evening to night game in June, we got a total of 65+ along to the event & it was enjoyed by all & bought a new dimension to the normal skirmishes etc. Would I organise another event - Potentially, it was friggin hard work but very rewarding, maybe after Xmas though as work wise i'm just flat out & would struggle to find time to organise another. UCAP Sandpit / Pit (Bluewater) organised a Zombie / Halloween / Night skirmish last year which was pistols & shotguns only - Never went but saw feedback & everyone spoke very highly of the event. We've plenty of sites in Kent - Latest is BushValley Airsoft in Lenham near Ashford, chaps who run it are eager to cater & please so they'd be a good site to aslo have a chat with. Lastly - A CQB site has recently opened called 'After Dark CQB' which I think runs on a Wednesday evening - I believe there's a Facebook page & it's run by a guy who goes by the name of Jon DarkwaterAirsoft, take a look. Hope the above all helps Mike
  5. Definitely hit & miss in my opinion - Bought my TM416D Devgru from them a year ago, genuinely interested when I visited, helpful & made a tonne of recommendations, spent over £600. Visited yesterday, bought x2 Hi Caps @ £79.98 for the pair, same guy was completely disinterested, asked questions about an MP7 & MP5 as i'm in the market for either, but he was more interested if anyone was out the front. Their HI-Caps were over a fiver more than the competition, but competition were out of stock (Which they obviously know). Did ask as i'm a returning customer was there any chance of a cheeky discount as well as them being way more expensive. Have to say, yesterday done it for me, only reason I went their 1st time around was because of the price competitveness, 2nd because I had too, 3rd time.... Not bloody likely Very disappointing
  6. Haha! - Made that mistake myself!
  7. As mentioned by otherds already - I've gone solo numerous times & everybody is friendly and welcoming, also gives you in insight how other operate / what their loadouts are, big opportunity to broaden your Airsoft spectrum & knowledge with those who you may not of necissarily interacted with!
  8. Hi mate - It's one click & the light is on permanently & a second click for the strobe that then is on permanently, third click & it turns off
  9. If you're doing any type of low level light or night games then it's a yes. I splashed the cash on a Marui Tracer round to go with the Marui 416D, bit pricier than the norm, but i'm happy with it & worked flawlessly on a recent night skirmish.
  10. This is was I opted for, worked a treat at a recent night event, I wasn't too keen on a pressure pad etc. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TrustFire-G02-600LM-CREE-LED-Flashlight-Torch-Tactical-Gun-Pistol-Handgun-Black-/181712586347 Very bright - Comes with two modes on & strobe, battery not included though! Mike
  11. Whereabouts are you from? - If by some chance you're close to Ashford in Kent I could always ask
  12. This is my latest patch...... After reading Amercian Sniper I couldn't resist. Whilst I appreciate that Craft International is now defunct with an air of controversy surrounding what went down, it's more around the design from the person.
  13. As Albiscuit quite eloquently put it, reach out to family & friends etc to see if there's a decent seemstress that you can get hold of. I'm fortunate that an Aunt of mine does just this, and she's carried out various repair jobs & amendments. My biggest drama is that I have short legs & a 32 waist, so I come up as medium but suffer with the length of the trousers! Good luck! Mike
  14. I've arranged a late evening to night skirmish at my local site, so it'd be rude not to have invested in these...... Looking forward to putting them into practice
  15. Here's my preference....... Face mask covering lower face including nose & ears with a set of mesh goggles, added a fast helmet for good measure so I completely avoid getting twatted anywhere above my neck! Face mask is between £15 - £20, good quality & has never failed me in the last 12 months
  16. Mods, please let me know if this isn't appropriate to post this here....... I've decided to pull an evening / night event together at the local Airsoft site that I attend. (Apocalypse Airsoft in Kent) Basically the idea was born out of me & a friend buying tracer units for our TM 416D Devrgu's. After testing the units with some tracer rounds (And watching a couple of night skirmishes on YouTube) we thought about how we'd like to 1) Test out our kit & light up each other with the tracer rounds & 2) Arrange something for those who have at some stage probably thought about the same idea! Speaking to others we found that there was an appetite for people to test their kit (NVG / Tracer units & bb's) but ultimately have a bit of fun & skirmish on a summer evening & into the darkness. So utilising the facilities at Apocalypse Airsoft, we've set up a date for an evening to night skirmish on Friday 26th June 2015. The principle of the evening is:- 19:00 Safety Briefing 19:30 Game 1 Dusk commences 21:00 30 minutes break for hot / cold refreshments 21:30 Game 2 Dusk / Night game resumes 23:30 Endex It's in it's infancy at the moment and we've asked the Marshals to scope the games out for us in advance for the 26th. The event will be going ahead and we're now into double figures bookings wise. If anyone would be interested in attending this event, I've set up a Facebook Event / Page under 'Night Skirmish' If you are interested, please join the event or feel free to drop me a message & I can tell you a little more about it. Thanks in advance Mike NightSkirmish.ppt

  18. Disappointing experience for you then.... Our local site generally doesn't tolerate this & have seen people banned because of behavioral issues, but there's always exceptions as you've stated
  19. This ranks up there with those who do not take their hits, really grinds my gears and takes away the trust element of any skirmish, whilst it's generally a case of letting a marshal know, I wholeheartedly agree that repeat offenders need to be lit up with a round of .25's!
  20. Welcome to the forum. We're lucky that we've a host of Airsoft sites in Kent... Apocalypse Airsoft (my regular haunt) Cool Under Fire Jungle Warfare Airsoft Quex Airsoft UCAP Sandpit And this isn't all of them... Like others have suggested, maybe get to some of these sites, all will do rentals & you'll get to see & feel in some cases what others are using, their experiences & what they have found works for them. Hope to see you around at some point Mike
  21. Thought i'd treat myself to one of these..... Have a couple of night games & a milsim on it's way so I thought it'd be rude not to! Tested it over the weekend and am very impressed, bb's light up really well whilst there was no visible light coming out which helps protect my location when firing. Looking forward to putting this into practice very soon
  22. AFAIK The guy who has set up Jungle Warfare Airsoft is looking to start a CQB site very soon as well, so there's definitely more options available. Apocalypse certainly allows two tone & clear guns (I really don't see why people have an issue with these imho), so might be a site for you to experiment. Mike
  23. Welcome! I'm from Kent, we've quite a few sites that are worth a look, such as:- UCAP Sandpit: Bluewater Apocalypse Airsoft: Detling Jungle Warfare: Lenham Battlelakes: Tunbridge Wells Cool Under Fire: Ashford & quite a few more to add as well! - So we're spoilt for choice. I regularly skirmish at Apocalypse, wholeheartedly recommend, attended the Pit a few times, again, a really good site. Checking out Jungle Warfare next weekend as well, hopes are high. May see you about Mike
  24. I've attached pictures of my solution, I wear a mesh black bear raider mask, wraps nicely around the face, the padded parts at the bottom are against the face but doesn't pinch / leave dodgy imprints etc. I have to wear mesh goggles as I just sweat too much, so needs must, but all in all, works perfect for me.
  25. Hello buddy, i'm also from Kent, skirmish at Apocalypse Airsoft / UCAP Pit & from this weekend will be going to the newly opened Jungle Warfare Airsoft, may bump into you at some point Mike
