  1. You're probably right - most likely made of cheese for that price. Where's the best place to pick up WE extended mags these days?
  2. Ok, follow-up question. Not being a GBB man (it's been nearly 6-7 years since I last owned one), I don't know what's decent or not. Are these mags (a tenner cheaper than Action Army) any good?: https://www.airsoftworld.net/a-w-e-glk-18-and-nuprol-raven-spare-magazine.html I assume it's AirsoftWorld's rebrand of another manufacturer.
  3. I know of two LiPo fires that involved B6s within a 10 mile radius of my house. The balance logic is wank too. I hate that it's become the de-facto airsoft standard with every man and his dog recommending them. I too come from an RC background (fixed wing, helis, drones, and dabbled in cars), and agree that IDST produce excellent units, I have a (so far unused) Q6 which I intended to use for field charging with a leisure battery. But for Airsoft, generally SkyRC stuff is more than good enough, and the S65 is both cheaper and better than B6 AC.
  4. Not really. I understand your argument about Constructive Dismissal, but taking such an issue to tribunal is a long (and potentially expensive) process. Many employees will be scared into having the vaccine by employers who will either tacitly or explicit state that it is a requirement. They will use leverage (bonuses, promotions etc. where applicable) to enforce their will. Disclaimer: To be clear - I have not been told anything by my employer anything along these lines and is purely conjecture on my part. I am in no way implying that my employer will use these measures in now or in the future.
  5. Yes, I'm aware of that, but anything that reduces the possibility of transmission, even in single-digit percentages, will still help in the long-run.
  6. I work on a campus with 4200 other people. If my employer wants to implement a 'no vaccine, no office' rule, they will find a way to do it. It sounds like the Government are mulling over 'Covid Certificates' anyway, so I would not be surprised if a law change gets rammed through Parliament with little opposition. Individual Liberty be damned.
  7. Stolen from the Daily Mail. No, I'm not a typical DM reader - but I do find some of the guff on there funny.
  8. No. I know many people who don't want it. It's not for me to judge - your body, your choice. But whether your employer will think the same is another matter. I will probably have to have it - I fully expect my employer to make it a requirement to return to the office.
  9. It seems like data coming from Israel indicates that the Pfizer vaccine does reduce the virus' transmission rate. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/covid-vaccine-pfizer-israel-transmission-latest-b1805313.html
  10. Quick question: What is the hop rubber of choice for these? I know ML is pretty popular, but has anyone tried the Sniper Mechanic Flamingo?
  11. Wow! There's not much left of the original gun by the looks of it. It should be an impressive build. Only four more days 'til payday...
  12. I'd say £150 to £160. They don't come up often though. I can only find one that sold on these forums via the search, and only a couple on Z1.
  13. The TM Mk23 Non-blowback is one of the quietest airsoft guns you can own. ASG distribute a clone that should be available in Germany. *edit: @Adolf Hamsterbeat me to it by 30 seconds.* This is almost certainly from the same factory as the ASG version: https://www.begadi.com/airsoft-guns/above0-5j/gas-co2/kurzwaffen/hk-series/y-p-m23-gas-nbb-version-frei-ab-18-j.html
  14. Personally I would buy a the SkyRC S65. It's a better charger for the money. https://www.hobbyrc.co.uk/skyrc-s65-65w-6a-ac-balance-charger (hobbyRC is an excellent UK based company) Otherwise, if you want to charge more than one LiPo at a time: https://www.hobbyrc.co.uk/skyrc-t100-100w-ac-dual-charger
  15. I hope your Grandmother makes a full recovery, I'm sorry to hear she contracted the virus even with the Vaccine. You raised valid points in response to my post. I would like to respond properly but I'm cooking a roast dinner at the mo. If I get time later I shall follow up. All the best.
  16. These countries have a far smaller population than the UK. In fact if you add the three together you get roughly the same number as the UK. London alone has a bigger population than Singapore or New Zealand. Taiwan was one of the worst hit countries back in 2003 with SARs - so rightly they invested in Epidemic control. But they also have methods of government control that would unpalatable with the UK population, for example - your phone tracking your whereabouts 24/7 and health officials tracking you down should you choose to wander off anywhere. Singapore hospitalised everyone over the age of 45 with that tested positive with Covid (irrespective of severity) - how would a country of nearly 67 million handled that? Singapore has about 380k people over the age of 70 (the most vulnerable to Covid), yet the UK has ~7 million over 70 - that's more than the entire population of Singapore. Jacinda Smugface might gloat about how their country tackled the pandemic, but ultimately Sadiq Khan oversees a bigger population than she does. NZ has a population density of 18 per sq Km, London? 5701. If you want to compare us to other countries, look at France. Roughly the same population - 67million to our 66.65million. Granted, they have around 80k deaths (compared to our 120k), but have less than half the population density (122 per sq Km to our 275 per sq Km). There are other variables, such as obesity rates (which has a huge effect on Covid survivability) and general population health (in which France is better than than us on both counts) which also have to be factored. The wheels of power move slowly and in step with what the population and the press will let them get away with. Cygnus was 4 years before the Covid-19 outbreak. I agree that the government should have been much better prepared for a large scale pandemic, but given that there only a handful of global pandemics in the entirety of the 20th Century, you could imagine the outcry from an media-fueled austerity-ridden populace about spending large quantities of cash on equipment that could have sat gathering dust in a warehouse for potentially decades. Hindsight eh? Again - a lot of mistakes were made. People died that probably shouldn't. But if you don't like the Government, make it known at the ballot box at the next local and general elections.
  17. You think that the other political parties could do any better? I'm not a BoJo fan, but from what I can see he's stuck between a rock and hard place. Between the Scientists, a rabid media (fuck you Piers Morgan), and a pissed off population he will never please everyone. Many errors have been made - no doubt about it - but I very much doubt the opposition would have done any better.
  18. Now that's a gun that punches above it's weight. I should have picked one up last year when trade was free and easy with Poland, but bought a CYMA Ak instead. Still, for £140 notes from UK vendors, it's still a bargain.
  19. Yeh, you're probably right. Luckily PayPal offers 'over and above' buyer protection. It boils my piss that there are sellers out there that will do such a thing though. If I sell something, I'm 100% honest about what I'm selling, warts'n'all listing all potential issues. The buyer can at least then make an informed decision about buying.
  20. But does it though? The seller (rightly) listed other flaws with the gun (i.e. cracked magazine shrouds) - but neglected to mention a big show-stopper for a lot of people. That, IMO, is misrepresentation. Hopefully the buyer will raise a dispute (assuming they used PayPal). I would apoplectic with rage if this had happened to me. This x1000. Absolutely spot on. It should be a rule for using the classifieds.
  21. It should have absolutely been mentioned in the Advert. £800 isn't chump change, I would be livid if I was the buyer. What a dick thing for the seller to say. In fact I'd send the whole lot back and raise a PayPal dispute.
