It's a tough one. Most experienced Airsofters knows that ARES OEM's these, and recent Negative Airsoft videos have not been complimentary at all towards Rapax. A good rule of thumb to start with would be around 60% of current retail - so that's what... around £360ish for the Gun + Mags?
-
Tried XT60s - but found them too chonky for some applications. XT30s work well, but the reality is that Airsoft has settled on Deans as the upgrade path from mini Tamiyas, with loads of RIFs, LiPos and ETUs/Mosfets fitted with them from the factory, so I finally admitted defeat and switched exclusively to Deans for airsoft a few years ago. Still use XT60/30s on my RC stuff though.

Anyone with experience with Delta Armory AEG's?
Speedbird_666 replied to softair's topic in Electric Guns
WTF is going on with that rail/receiver join? It looks like the receiver was built for a very specific rail system to lock onto it, and the OEM decided to throw on another altogether, leaving a gap. They don't even match in height on the upper rail. Having looked through the rest of Delta Armouries product line, it looks very much like the same fodder that comes from Huntsman, Specna, Lancer, Evolution et al. I would be interested to see the internals of the gun before passing judgement. -
Yeh - this. The VCRA is about the Import, manufacture and selling of RIFs, not ownership. The defense is to satisfy the seller that you are a legit airsofter. The seller fucked up - not your problem - you don't need to paint your gun. Enjoy it - responsibly!, and enjoy the additional resale value when it comes to selling it in future, as two-tone always command lower 2nd hand prices.

Decent starter gun with potential for DMR
Speedbird_666 replied to ParHunter's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Nearly bought an NY03 Lite because they looked cool and were a decent price on Patrolbase. Then I remembered those microwave oven door microswitch triggers and the inability to equip a decent ETU without modifications then thought better of it. I was in the market for a DMR - I would be looking at the Cyma M14 as per @Tackle's recommendation. I've seen a few in the 'real' on game days and they seem to be really solid performers. -
I think that is pretty much most of his market. And it makes sense really. I do not own a single Novritch product, so I cannot be classed as a fanboi, but I respect the fact that he's trying to do something a bit different.

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that Double Bell/DBoys is the OEM for this G36. Some of the SSR63 accessories on Nov's site have Double Bell listed as manufacturer, and recent video reviews of the Double Bell/Dboys G36 show a metal outer barrel & barrel ring much like the SSR63 (and Ares/S&T/Specna) instead of the TM/JG/CYMA style plastic outer barrel/mock piston assembly. QD spring guide looks much the same too. So it's a £120ish gun with a cool rail system and some internal upgrades. I don't think it is stellar value, but it's arguably the best appointed out-of-the-box G36 at the moment. I think the G36 platform deserves more love. I've had a couple over the years and have regretted selling them (*he says looking at his growing pile of somewhat underused M4s*).

VFC MP7 AEG micro trigger switch needed
Speedbird_666 replied to PAPA 4 ZERO's topic in Electric Guns
Is it not fixable? Looking at the product pictures - It looks like an Omron detector/limit switch surface mounted to a very simple PCB. Here are the switches (I think it's a left operating, normally open variant): https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/products/filter/limit-switches/198?s=N4IgjCBcoLQCxVAYygMwIYBsDOBTANCAG4B2aWehA9lANohwAMA7GAgLqEAOALlCCAC woA Infosheet to check the measurements: https://omronfs.omron.com/en_US/ecb/products/pdf/en-d3sk.pdf If you know anyone that can solder/hot air reflow (whatever it's called), or even a local phone/tablet etc repair company, I'm sure it's a quick job to swap the switch over. Worth a punt if nothing else? -
It's a lot of money for a G36 - but I never knew that I wanted a G36 with an MLOK rail so bad until now... Doesn't appear to be S&T/Ares based and the plastics (and barrel mounting) don't scream JG/CYMA. I'm wondering if its based on the WE 999K AEG.

About two years ago - they dropped the M9xx series from nowhere and the momentum has been growing behind them ever since. Reliability (from user feedback) seems to match the likes of G&G and their Combat Machines, but at a much better price and (importantly) feature point. I just jumped on the bandwagon to see what they are like (M904G) and so far I am very impressed.

Nice - doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere ATM but might take a punt one day if the prices stays under £100. -

Is that the Plastic or metal version? -
Gen3s are rolled out of the same factory as the Novritsch SSR4: I thought that AIM TOP was the OEM for most of these manufacturers? Lonex has OEM'd for Tippmann (Commando series), BO Dynamics (LT5xx series) and ASG (M15 Proline) off the top of my head. Maybe they did the Prolines for Lancer too? - the GB's have that Lonex shiny finish.
-
And they just rolled out this masterpiece - a support gun with no bipod, a mock suppressor but no tracer, an angled foregrip to c-clamp that chonky front end but nothing to help hold it's weight, and a base gun that uses a V2 gearbox and not a support gun platform. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/bolster-armouries-atlas-advanced-support-gun-aeg All yours for £1499. I have seen a Bolster Armouries M4 thing in the 'real'. It was merely ok - nothing exceptional. And certainly not worth the wedge of cash it cost.

Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger
Speedbird_666 replied to mightyjebus's topic in AEG/GBBR Reviews
Had a brand new SHS High Torque arrive for the gun (from AK2M4) but I wish I ordered a higher-TPA motor - I am concerned that without Active Braking I will get overspin on an 11.1v LiPo. I think I'll use it for another project instead as the Stock performance is decent enough at the moment for my uses. I have installed a new ZCI Plastic Hop Unit though - much nicer than the stock one. -
Nope on both counts. Only Hop rubber i had any real problem with was a maple leaf - which needed a slight trim of the lips. Once done it fit the hop unit just fine - got one with an omega nub in a gun at the moment. Tested Lonex/Legit TM and others in the past with no problems. And as for the nozzle - well, I just so happen to have one in front of me. Same length that Negative Airsoft has been selling recently as his preferred M4 length: Source: I have 4 'complete' ICS M4s, a 5th being built at the moment from spare parts on the cheap, and an ICS MP5.
-
Have you checked the plastic wheel retaining ring thingy on the back of the hop unit? - one of mine backed out slightly causing a slight misaligment in the magwell, and strange power drop/inconsistencies. This part is slightly revised in shape on newer-manufactured versions of the hop unit, but the priniciple is the same - the two slots are used top screw it in or out. Might not be your problem, but worth checking anyway?

Solink Brushless Motor for Airsoft AEGs Review
Speedbird_666 replied to Ranger's topic in Accessory Reviews
Give it ten years, hopefully Brushless will be 'standard' much like they are with RC Planes/Helis etc. And hopefully, costs will come down as well when competing companies and sales volumes rise. -

Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger

Funnily enough I ordered one of those yesterday - all my guns have SHS motors - I now own 7 of the things. -

Just out of interest - has anyone switched-out their motors? I plan to drop an SHS Hi-Torque into my M904G - I'm wondering if the Falcon ETU can cope with the Amp increase? -
Solink Brushless Motor for Airsoft AEGs Review
Speedbird_666 replied to Ranger's topic in Accessory Reviews
Found it on JK Army and Tiger111 for around $100 USD. I think it would probably easier to just to buy a warhead - at least there are UK shipping options. -

Solink Brushless Motor for Airsoft AEGs Review
Speedbird_666 replied to Ranger's topic in Accessory Reviews
I'm hoping this comes out cheaper than a warhead. Where was this purchased from? I've used Brushless motors for years in RC and I'm glad they are finally making inroads in Airsoft. I just don't want to spend £100 to try one out. -
JG G36 on a 7.4v LiPo. They will probably function until the heat death of the universe. Problem is - whilst they are great site rental guns, they don't exactly sparkle with performance. And without knowing what your performance expectations are, you may as well ask 'how long's a piece of string?' There is no such thing as 'the best most reliable platform' when 'best' is subjective to the expectations of the user, and 'reliability' is often compromised by said expectations. Happy with a gun that trundles at 10rps out of the box forever, just 'works' despite being wrapped around a tree but is as dull as ditchwater to use? See my first sentence. Want a 30RPS+ speedyboi monster with incredible semi response? Well - that's another kettle of fish altogether, expect things like higher preventative maintenance/servicing, increased wear an tear, and a more expensive bill to fix when it does shit itself. I'm guessing that what you probably want is something in between those two extremes. Expensive =/= better. Just because there is a high ticket price from some manufacturers does guarantee performance and/or reliability. Looking at you VFC. TM NGRS - the ultimate fanboi rifle. 'Perfect' out of the box apparently - so perfect that people drop a grand to upgrade them to be able to keep up with those pesky kids and their £250 lightly upgraded budget blasters in terms of ROF, trigger response and power levels. But it shakes a bit when shooting and has a functioning bolt stop so it's all good.
