  2. It is possible, at work I deal with acrylic more than I like to. A good cooling system is required. Ours is air cooled, most engineering millers will be liquid cooled. Special acrylic milling bits can be bought which leave a better finish than a standard bit would leave, or a diamond bit can be used to leave a pretty much clear finish. We use flam polishing on any acrylic we cut but this is not ideal for something like a gear box, due to small holes and tolerances. The heat would warp it all. A chemical dip would be better.
  3. I have not been in a while, when it first opened it was a mental cqb site. Now, I just don't like it. Games get stale quick and not much game area. It won't be long before its closed.
  4. My latest bit of diy. I wanted a lipo adapter for an aep, but could not justify paying the silly prices to buy one or sacrifice a battery. So I made one on my 3d printer, the contacts are just a bit of beer can for now. I plan on doing a new one, with copper contacts and tighter tolerances. Cost about 3p.
  5. "Don't shoot me, I'm changing my battery", "Propane is more dangerous than green gas" and my favourite "Can I use metal bb's?".
  6. Ahh monkey metal. I had to loctite the grub screw on my g&g a2. Kept falling out and of would pop the handle. I can see why these are readily available.
  7. If the handle is metal, it may have rusted on. Give it a blast of wd-40, then allow it to soak. I would resist cutting it off as it may damage or snap the post it is attached to, which is a £25 replacement.
  8. You can get plates that attach to your rails (if you have them) that will hold the pressure switch. If you have a magpul style handguard, there is also a clip available.
  9. I'm working on something similar. What I have chosen for the power supply is one of those portable usb battery packs. They output at 5V 1a. I have then wired the fans to a usb cable. If the pack is small enough, you can then stuff it into a counterweight case and stick it to the back off your helmet.
  10. Something like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxZmtQofC0s
  11. If you don't mind, could you post some pictures of the electronics inside the peq box? I was thinking of getting one for a project.
  12. Thanks for the reply shizbazki. You was right. I cut of a coil and got 345 then one more and got 335. Working brilliant now. I put in a m100 and it dropped to 300. All sorted just in time for next game day!
  13. Okay. I'll just have to wait for the new springs to turn up. Rather annoying. Running it for about 9 months, as stock. Clean it all up for my first skirmish of the year and I get this. Oh well.
  14. Just checked with hop fully off and averages about 348 over 10 shots. Hop fully on and 355 over 10 shots. If I short stroke the piston by a couple of teeth will this lower the fps enough?
  15. I'll give it a good run through and see if it drops any. If not then I will drop in a new spring. Hopefully that will sort it. Cheers guys.
  16. Well other than gears and motor and the shims for the gears, I only greased and lubed it all. The only thing I can think is that this gun has a pneumatic blow back. Maybe that's not functioning properly and the extra air is going out of the barrel?
  17. Thanks. I'll get hold of a m100 and a m 90 incase. I wouldn't even try and get this past a chrono. Just not cricket.
  18. I've put in shs 13:1 gears and a shs high torque motor into my g&g gr4 g26. Before this it was firing at approx 335. Now it's firing at 355+-. The spring and piston is still stock. Will it be a case of changing to a lower spring or will I need to change any other parts? Thanks
  19. Until you decide to start messing with your gear box my partners getting a bit annoyed with the amount of stuff she keeps finding around the house from several guns in different stages of upgrade/repair.
  20. For the stock you have two options. You can either fit this stock http://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152204222-G36-stock.html or this adapter http://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152203108-M4-M16-Stock-Adaptor-for-G36.html and fit a buffer tube and any m4/m16 stock you fancy. For the m4 adapter, they are not always going to work very well. I don't have one at the moment so I can't give an honest review. From what I've heard a lot of people have had feeding issues, mag wobbling and the adapter just breaking. If you can get one cheap enough, then try it out and see if it works for you.
  21. My most memorable moment on a camp was when I was doing my ranger course (do they still do that?). About 3 in the morning I was on sentry and heard some rustling. I thought "Bollocks, going to have to wake everyone up". I could not see anything at all, but the rustling was still going on. I quietly cooked my rifle and waited. Then out on the path in the moonlight I saw a badger making it's way with someone's ration box. The next morning a lost soul was demanding his rations back whilst other where wondering why they had a black line on their neck. Turns out some Ghurkers where on the same camp and snuck into our camp and "killed" people. Everyone who did sentry that night had to do a 5km run before we was allowed to get grub for breakfast.
  22. Regarding the a&k svd. Other than the extended cocking handle I would suggest getting the alternate hop up. This saves you having to take the top cover of and using a tiny allen key to adjust the hop. This can be purchased from http://www.airsoftsniperparts.com/apps/webstore/products/show/2657310
  23. Ah man that sucks about the camping. Nothing was more fun than being taken somewhere in the back of a 4 tonne then jumping out and setting up a camp in the rain. Then sitting on sentry waiting for an attack. Yeah, when i was in the cadets you had to pass weapon handling before you was allowed to fire blanks. Before you could fire live on the GP you had to pass on a .22 bolt action rifle. Think that was a 15m range. Been tempted to just buy a gbb sa80 just for the memories.
  24. I remember the GP A1 fondly. Do they really use the A2's now? That's mental. Although I got to use an SA80 A1 along with other cadets in what was called "Tiger platoon". But yeah, using an SA80 like a springer, what memories.
  25. I had this issue the first time i used a drop leg. After watching that video above, I applied to mine and no more flopping.
