very niche product, if outside is pretty similar only way to tell is get a decent magnified snake scope and check out the quality of the polishing, that's where the real cost of inner barrels lies it seems.  I've tried to get my own brand of barrels made, whilst the raw material is super cheap, the polishing cost was expensive.

For a short time I worked on the Kent Police instance of the national firearms management system, nothing in there about Air-gun ownership.  Certainly nothing at county level.

Yes. They said that they had no record of it, as each agent handles and records their own inquiries (or lack of enquiries).

We've all got a mate like that.  Heck, I might be that mate, although I do try to be careful to express things as opinions unless I can cite statute or case law, or firm examples.

In this case, he's talking about what could happen, not what will happen.  What I will say from day-job experience is that police may check their own systems for information on an address (or known suspect) after dispatching an emergency response.  They won't find a UKARA record, at least not the first time.  They may find a previous incident record if it's a repeat call to some who learned nothing the first time, and that information may get to the response unit, and they may tailor their response based on it.

In the past, they've shot a Scotchman with a table leg in a carrier bag.  Better safe than sorry.

Recently though, they've shown a lot of restraint.  We've got multiple examples of that in the News section, from kids with two-tones in their own homes, student film-makers on the street, to folk actively trying for suicide-by-cop by gearing up and pointing an "AR" at them.  That one got beanbagged in the balls.

@Rogerborg didn't you do a FOI request a few years back to see if border force could you the number of requests made in a single year?  Did they ever respond?

@RostokMcSpoons I don't really,  I have some longer ones which seem the right OD but from experience I've noticed brands use all sorts of different sizes.  Maybe someone can measure one?

Lighten up pal, in essence your asking legitimate players for assistance, even if it is only information, on how to manufacture a section 5 firearm, nowt else you've said mitigates that, not here or in the eyes of the law.
Doesn't matter if you use it 5 miles from the nearest public boundary, in the unlikely event you got nabbed, maybe travelling to or from said private land, & anybody is in the ensuing chain of authority investigating your rif & it's abilities is non pro Airsoft, we could all potentially suffer, given that many of us have many many years & considerable financial investment tied to the game, any change to the status quo is likely to negatively affect us, so salty responses are perfectly justified all things considered.
& yeah, rather than stick an overpowered spring in a mediocre quality gearbox, likely drastically shortening it's lifespan, get a half decent air rifle, more power & accuracy, & the the ability to hunt live prey (vermin obviously), if your shooting grounds are suitable ?

It is definitely possible, I have a C-08 with a 36k warhead black and 13:1 gears.

Keep in mind that the warhead is a very particular motor and requires some considerations:

    You NEED to short stroke the gears, the thing cycles so fast that if you don't, you will either PME like crazy or have horrible timing issues, on my C-02 I short stroked by two, on my AK I had to knock 4 teeth off. Removing teeth from the piston isn't necessary, AOE correction isn't necessary on most setups (didn't do it on mine, but I generally don't believe in AOE correction unless it's a mega wanker 50+ RPS DSG setup);

You NEED to trim the tappet plate fin, otherwise you'll run into timing issues where the piston is released when the nozzle is still moving. Don't overdo it or the gun will simply stop feeding. On mine I also reprofiled the whole fin to make the nozzle smooth in its travel, but this step is unnecessary in most cases.

With this in mind, replace the nozzle with a POLYMER one with an o-ring, replace the piston head o-ring while you're at it to ensure proper air seal and maybe take a look at mosfets (Perun Hybrids are great and work really, really well with brushless motors).

If you short stroke you will probably need a stiffer spring, but don't go overboard and order a M150, my guns do 0.99J on shortened M90s with the sole exception being my AK that runs on a M100. To achieve 1.13J I guess a M100/M110 is fine depending on your compression setup.

The Depot does (or did) calendar months just because it was simpler for them to look back at your first day and say "same date, plus 2 months".  But with 2 months always being longer than 8 weeks, and them only running every 2 weeks, in practice that meant a 10 week minimum.  The blank stare when I tried to explain that... 🙄

@Rogerborg I noticed a site the other day doing calendar months as well.  Always wondered if maybe a site would "credit" a visit that you made to another site, if you asked nicely and showed proof.  Never heard of this happening before though and wouldn't be in the interests of the site.

    Multi-site UKARA sadly isn't recorded.

@Tommikka The system I was working on last year had a workable solution for multi-sites that was even partly developed however my developer seemingly disappeared into the ether'net 😞  Just haven't had the time to pick up on it.

You've pulled, get your plate carrier.

Ahoy, welcome, and apologies for the UKARA rabbithole.  Yes, a minimum of three games at the same site, over a minimum of 8 weeks (although some sites go with 2 calendar months, and some after 2 calendar months, so it can end up being more like 9 to 11 weeks) in order to get membership and a magic number. It is primarily recording site membership though, so it's entirely up to each site, and always worth asking.

CQB and woodland are indeed quite different.  CQB tends to be more intense with quicker respawns, and more and hurtier hits.  Woodland can be more crafty, although you can spend 10 minutes stalking to the perfect position only to get lit up like a Christmas tree by a rental in trackies.  Both can be fun.

And yes, teching is intriguing, although can be frustrating as there are no real standards in airsoft, just de facto compatibility.  Working on the barrel, hop unit (rotary tend to be better than dial), rubber and nub as a unit is a good start, as worse case you can always swap the stock unit right back in if your fUlLy uPgRaDeD gun is dribbling balls out on the day.

Yeah I kinda fell into the trap of trying to please multiple people. I did have someone lined up for both parts, the RIF as someone wanted that as their project gun, and then someone for the hpa engine and bits for that. But then the RIF guy fell through. Ideally I was wanting to sell it as a complete system, retrospectively I will stick to doing that in the future.

And yes, just sick of looking at it, knowing it's not getting use.

Thank you both for your feedback though. Seems if I'm wanting to shift it, just need to mark it down a fair bit to get interest on it.

LVOA kits are an acquired taste, even moreso at 16", I still have a new 13.5" for sale somewhere that I could never shift.  Will probably let it go for £50, sick of looking at it 🙂

Maybe you should split the items?

It's 9" sadly.  It's an NSR, has a steel barrel nut. Tried it on my aeg uppers that I have lying around and nothing fitted.  You're welcome to try it out to see if it fits yours.  I'll message you.

the barrel nut is most likely aluminium which are subject to getting munched up.  I do think it's milspec indeed: https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/4jdldi/tipmann_barrel_nut_thread_size/

I'll dig out and test the NSR one I have.

Hope your friend pulls through his situation dude.  Financial awareness is something that is severely lacking from our education system, coupled with susceptibility to peer pressure and you have a very dangerous concoction.

Thankfully for us we have reached peaked space constraints now, so no more pews after this evenings' acquisition.  Now I just wish my customers would collectively pay the tens of thousands I'm owed so I can pay everyone else LOL.  This game is a good release for both me and the boy from the day to day grind, and I hope it remains thus for everyone else.  As you say, it's only a game, do no more than you need to have fun playing it; and balls to everyone else who try to make it otherwise.

It happens to us all, we get lost down the rabbit hole, looking for that perfect load out, that ultimate “thing” that will make us the envy of Instagram / insert site name here…it costs time, it costs money…it can cost a lot more.

If you’re struggling, talk to somebody…today I nearly lost a friend who is thousands upon thousands of pounds in debt, all from trying to impress everybody else.

Is everybody doing ok? Vent here if you need, just remember it’s a game, don’t sink yourself financially trying to keep up, I’m guilty of it and I imagine there are quite a few others here too.

Retailers know fine well that almost nobody is really going to see them in court, and that we'll grumble a bit then bodge it ourselves.

In this case you could tap out new threads and replace the screws with larger ones, although you really shouldn't have to. That's what they should be doing, or replacing the gearbox if they can't retap them.  What they almost certainly did was just screw them back in, maybe with a bit of loctite.

You're past the short term right to reject, but two failed repairs wouldn't be reasonable.  I'd get the gun back first in whatever form it's in, then assert that it's not fit for purpose, not of satisfactory quality, and that as it's within 6 months of purchase, the fault was there when sold.  You'll need them to cover cost of having it repaired by an actual tech, e.g. Luke, or Kingdom of Airsoft, at something like £45 an hour, plus postage both ways, plus any parts up to and including a new shell. Then it's off down the usual track of letters before action, and whether you actually want to pay to initiate a small claim in court (which you can do online now).

    Best of luck.

“This ain't 'ad fair usage,” he used to begin.
He became a mild embodiment of the spirit of reason. “You can't expect a bicycle to take you up in its arms and carry you,” he used to say. “You got to show intelligence. After all—it's machinery.”
