  1. Really? Might drop them an email then, although probably be a lot dearer even if they do lol. Cheers for that!
  2. (apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but can't search off my phone.) I'm wanting to order a AY SITES Spectre SMG AEG from Airsofttigerlllhk (as per their thread) cost is US$118. Not seen this gun anywhere else and don't know of any UK retailer who deals with AY. I'm hoping some of you guys will be knowledgeable on importing and can answer some questions I have: 1 has anyone bought from these guys, what is their service like? 2 What would likely cost be in total £ after taxes etc 3 has anyone had a problem with ROHS/CE rules when importing direct, or does that only affect retailers? 4 Any pitfalls with UK Customs to beware of? any genuine knowledge gratefully received!
  3. Several pistols have a 11mm female threaded outer barrel, King Arms and SHS do 11mm barrel adapters to accept 14mm threaded standard silencers (though places such as Actionhobbies and Firesupport I've checked in UK seems out of stock, I'm after one for my S&W Sigma grrrr), not 100% sure the CZ75 is the same but would think it likely, I very much doubt it would be an imperial size to be honest.
  4. yeah I bought some Viper knee pads few years back, fell apart pretty quickly, repaired for spares but been using a pair of Hatch ones I was given ever since which seem a lot better. Viper tac vests seem ok for the price, my son's has lasted years without any issues and turned out a good buy.
  5. 2 tins of Krylon camo paint, co2 capsules and desert camo pants for my son from local gun shop. Followed by camo pants for me and an almost new pair of size 11 american boots for a fiver in the bargain section at local army surplus shop!
  6. The plot thickens then? Unless there are 2 being made and somehow these have been confused, 1 for Webley in 4.5mm and another by another company in 6mm for airsoft (well I can dream. . .) There are indeed plastic bb's for 4.5mm guns but at a touch under 3J you'd be looking at serious fps without some sort of power down cartridge, bearing in mind 1J = 328fps with a 0.2g bb, really can't see any site allowing that, and many don't allow anything other than 6mm for skirmishing in any case. Also being for 4.5mm it won't have a hop unit. . . .
  7. The important thing is not to flood any part in silicon oil, in particular try and avoid getting any in the hop rubber as it will affect the hop effect and thus range (although a little will inevitably get sprayed through the whole gun during the firing cycle which can't really be avoided). Literally a drop in the gas inlet and outlet valves after use is usually sufficient. A very small amount of silicon grease smeared on with a finger works better than oil on the rubber gas router, as the oil will get blown out more quickly.
  8. Welcome to the forum! Alpha55 at Halkyn near Flint (next to the A55, my local site too) is probably your nearest site, and Ex-site near Mold is another, both are woodland and can be found on tinternet and facebook. Also not far, another good site is The Manor (Zed Adventures) near Warrington which is CQB and woodland and also do Zombie themed events if that takes your fancy. There is/was a CQB site in Chester and also one near Wrexham though I don't know much about them as only heard by word of mouth, worth a search on one of the airsoft maps mentioned in threads above. The Airsoft Shack in Buckley is worth a look (open Thurs to Sat, check out on Facebook), not a big shop but have a selection of guns including G&G usually, and Soldier of Fortune in Corwen is best local retailer in these parts for guns and gear, massive stock variety although not the cheapest, their website is well worth a look. Most of the popular airsoft retailers have feedback on this forum, worth having a search through, bear in mind any will fall over themselves when taking your money but not all are great if something goes wrong and you need it fixed under warranty, or a refund. Anything else just ask away!
  9. Its not impossible, I just doubt Webley would do it as airsoft isn't really their market. Nice if they did though.
  10. would need a barrel conversion and it fires at <3J so would be pretty hot if so.
  11. Hopes dashed . . . . since its being made for Webley I doubt they 'll do an airsoft version tbh. And why 4.5mm bb? At least they could have made it fire normal pellets through a rifled barrel for decent accuracy (yes I miss my old Brocock revolvers lol). *sigh*
  12. This. In an episode of "Sons of Guns" the owners daughter created a new line of M4 real steel rifles to appeal to women shooters - by fitting them with luminous yellow stocks and handguards, looked horribly similar to Imitation Firearms. Makes me wonder how the law would work if they tried that in the UK? Reverse UKARA maybe? IE "real firearms must be coloured a realistic colour"? The mind boggles!
  13. CO2, sods law it will probably be too hot for a skirmish revolver then?
  14. Got the Airsoft Innovations adapter as per Monty's link above, works fine with the Coleman propane and comes with a small bottle of silicon oil. Well worth the investment for metal slide gbb's in particular.
  15. yeah there are plenty of players with mobility issues who still turn up to play, one guy where I play (North East Wales) has a fused spine so can't turn his head or move too quickly, but he's upped his game, invested in a Systema and is a force to be reckoned with. Disability need not stop anyone playing if they want to.
  16. yeah the plastic stock one has a 60rd locap and white laser markings, the "Military" real wood stock one has a 440 hi cap and full "engraved" non coloured trades. edit; Chocks bottom link is a distinct bargain, similar spec to the Military but the Chicago version, very nice!
  17. you can do a self check, or check someone else (eg when checking s buyers status) by phoning Actionhobbies, they will tell you straight away as long as the address details match up. I'm sure other retailers will aswel, no need to wait days to find out by email. As for OP's question I was in same situation a couple of years ago, but as I'd played at my reg site while not a member they signed me up again no bother. However Airsoft World were a bit off with me when I phoned them to check my Ukara had gone through a few days later saying I should have started from scratch, 3 games etc even though I'd been playing anyway the whole time (and been a fairly good customer to AW I may add) which I thought was poo. But anyway, yeah if your ukara has lapsed and you've not played at the site you're registered at then it looks like you'll have to start from scratch.
  18. Emptying the mag quickly means the remaining gas will be cooler and thus lower pressure. Hence a metal slide won't blow back enough to reach the catch. I'm assuming if you fill the gas it then works correctly? Worth checking the slide moves freely when you cock it and the slide rails have a little lube on them.
  19. Also there are tutorials on Youtube (can't link sorry, but Google "airsoft tutorial" should find), and in Airsoft International mag periodically on working on gearboxes etc.
  20. Assuming you've cleaned the barrel and adjusted the hop to give the best range, and checked the hop unit is seated correctly, if its still not great I would suggest you concentrate on sorting the inner barrel and hop rubber first before looking at the gearbox which can be a minefield if you've not opened one before. Everyone and his dog will have their own preferred brands etc but I find a ZCI or Core 6.02mm inner barrel (£15-20 from AK2M4 on this forum) and a standard £5 TM hop rubber (from Firesupport) a very cost effective upgrade personally. I used to use the dearer Madbull Black Python barrels but these are £10 or so dearer and don't offer anything over the ZCI/Core ones tbh. The Hop rubber on its own may give you better results, there are many more expensive ones out there and having tried a few always come back to the TM one, but as said these are just what I use based on experience and others will have other ideas.
  21. There are a lot of variables with gas guns such as what gas is used, ambient temperature, gas capacity etc. I have a TM 1911 & M9 and a KWA Glock 23. The bigger mags in the M9 and Glock will empty just under 2 mags while the thinner 1911 mag will only just do over 1 full mag on an averagely warm day around 18c using either green gas or propane, and that is with leak free mags and the gun slides correctly lubed. In Summer it will increase by a few shots but in Winter that reduces a fair bit though all will function to an extent, but not an entire mag fired rapidly. Firing rapidly will lead to a faster cool down, hence lower gaspressure and the gun may not then cycle fully, particularly on a colder day. Leave the gun for 5 mins and it may then function fine again. 1.5 mags in a new gen WE would be about right I'd have thought on an average day. Its a good idea to keep mags warm (eg in trouser pocket) in colder weather, and practice slower aimed shots, rather than blatting away and suddenly find your gun not functioning correctly.
  22. Take it its the floating valve in the blowback unit? Could it be reduced in diameter a little by turning/filing/sanding to allow more gas flow?
  23. if you mean the mag outlet valve then its not an ideal solution, on gbb guns the valve is held open until the slide/bolt has moved back far enough to disengage the hammer/firing pin mechanism, so even if a stronger spring stops the valve opening quite so much, at best it MAY reduce the muzzle velocity but will also increase the cycle time, and at worst will vent all the gas as not enough pressure builds up quickly enough to cycle the action. It is very hit and miss. The only fully effective way of reducing fps is to restrict the amount of gas coming out of the air nozzle, which means reducing the amount of gas hitting the bb by either: 1. drilling through the outlet valve across its width with a small drill bit; 2. reducing the size of the outlet hole in the end of the nozzle (eg by fitting a short piece of tube inside the nozzle; or 3. increasing the cross section of the floating valve inside the nozzle by building it up with plastic filler or similar. All these are very much trial and error, get it wrong (particularly 1) and you kill your gun. I have a Tanaka Works K98 rifle that uses restrictors (as in 2 above) but that is bolt action nbb of course, however it does work to bring the velocity down very well. I have used (3) with the most success though in my CO2 mini Uzi and S&W Sigma- the cross shaped floating valve being built up with plastic strip and plastic filler, and then sanded down to more of a rounded profile a bit at a time and tested until it fires at a velocity I'm happy with. Alternatively if you know someone with a lathe a new floating valve could be made from aluminium easily enough, with key measurements taken from the original part. Modding this valve ensures the blowback and rate of fire stays the same too. As said some trial and error is needed, its not a solution for everyone but with patience and basic tools it can be done.
  24. PWM also causes heat buildup in the motor, effectively its starting and stopping dozens of times a second (depending on frequency used), and uses more battery power IIRC. Admittedly my only experience of this is in model railways where PWM gives better locomotive controllability, but burnt out motors (small ones particularly) are not unknown. Admittedly the much bigger motors used in airsoft may be able to cope better.
  25. Battery wise you could consider Ares M3 Grease gun mags as these hold the Lipo battery too IIRC.
