  1. Great pics mate, didn't realise you'd gone the whole hog of making an entire silencer, you've obviously got the equipment to do things like that, did you put foam rings in the silencer? See what you mean about the slight alignment issue, can it be sorted? By opening the exit bore of the silencer maybe, it does look quite tight compared to a commercial airsoft one? (Could be an optical illusion though.) Cheers for the data link, my Dad was an engineer and knows his stuff with threads, pitch etc so will use his tools to measure mine up. To be skirmished pistols have to comply with site limits just like AEGs, sniper rifles etc, usually its the same limit as AEGs so generally 328 or 350fps with 0.2g bbs depending on the site. CO2 pistols often put out around 400fps, but can be modded to bring that down by building up or replacing the floating valve in the blowback chamber. Some sites flat refuse the use of CO2 guns though which is a shame. I really like the 75D, its stylish and that bit different to the usual Glocks, M9s, Sigs and Colts.
  2. . One of these is certainly growing on me, yeah the CO2 guns are loud compared to normal GBBs. Interesting what you say about the threads not aligned with the bore, I did wonder about that, also glad you said about the size, I'd assumed my Sigma had a 11mm thread, measuring with my digital caliper was about right, but now I'm wondering if "about right" is going to fit! Have you had a chance to chrono the gun? I'm guessing its too hot to skirmish with? In which case I'd need to modify the valve as usual or get a new one turned up in aluminium.
  3. Cheers Josh will look into that! Thanks for clarifying that, yes I would make sure to ask them to put it on the package.
  4. It would be nice if putting a scope on made our guns shoot 100m yeah! In generic terms the Eotech style sight (your first link) would work fine, they are fairly lightweight being largely plastic compared to the ACOG style (your second link) which are generally all metal and thus heavier, and give a slightly more restricted view due to the thickness and side mounted adjustment dials etc, although imho they look better than the Eotech on an M4. As said its all a matter of what works for you really, I'm not familiar with those specific models you linked to but can't see why either wouldn't be ok.
  5. Nice one, I take it it is blowback rather than NBB then? Most of the full size CZ75s seem to. be NBB. Does it have an adjustable hop unit, or fixed?
  6. Sh*t me, with all the forms and hassle it looks easier to just to pay their extortion, sorry handling fee!
  7. Thanks for the advice gents. Regarding Customs and UKARA, do they check the UKARA register or expect you to provide a site membership card/other proof on delivery? I am registered but my site doesn't do membership cards hence the question.
  8. Well Airsoft World have got back to me, they have no plans to import the Spectre, so what to do? The prospect of running the customs gauntlet and importing an AEG from HK doesn't thrill me despite the fact its only US$118, but looks like it may be the only way to get one of these bad boys grrrrrrr!
  9. Anyone would think you liked AK's. . . . ! Seriously, impressive selection there man.
  10. Nice review, the fact its advertised as having fixed hop had put me off it, but if its adjustable then dang, I may have to get one!
  11. Nice one, glad you got it sorted!edit: is it the CZ75 Compact you have? Been thinking of one myself, seem a good price for the spec, also any chance ofsome pics of your handiwork?
  12. Back on topic. . . just bought new Guarder V3 gb shell and UMP hop unit barrel retaining clip, old gb cracked around cylinder head so some investigating will be carried out during the rebuild!
  13. Not to mention giant Dougal from Magic Roundabout. . . .
  14. I've often thought of getting an M4/M16 rubber bayonet for the same reason. Although being of a certain age, my silly side says learning the black art of "Ecky Thump" and attacking with a large black pudding, "The Goodies" stylee, for giggles, would be better (sorry young 'uns, you'll have to Google "The Goodies" on Youtube to understand)!
  15. M4 hops usually have a spring attached to the hop or around the barrel pushing them against the gearbox, did this get refitted? As Brightcandle says if the hop unit isn't seated into the gearbox properly it will kill the airseal. Also the hop rubber should be a good snug fit, if its too loose in the hop unit air can escape around it.
  16. Glad it works well, yeah propane changed my perception of GBB's too.
  17. welcome! Drakelow tunnels is a good site near there too if you can get a game.
  18. yes it can be done but it needs to be cut at exactly 90° across the barrel in order that the blast of air following the bb disperses equally, and the new end then needs a slight internal bevel forming (so it looks like the original end), followed by a good cleaning up of the cut surfaces with fine sandpaper, and of course thoroughly cleaning out the barrel once its done. Note you will lose some fps by shortening the barrel too.
  19. The guy who originally posted the youtube clip on ww2 forum has replied saying it is 6mm so we shall see. Thread can be found here; http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=18596
  20. is the hop unit proprietary to just that gun then? Fed from above I presume? Or is it switchable to allow M4 mags to be used too? But yeah P90 hi caps don't have the best reputation unfortunately. If its new it might just need filling and emptying a few times to bed the mechanism in. Assuming the gun fires fine when bb's do feed, you could check the feed tube that locates into the magazine does fit correctly and sufficient that when you insert the mag it operates the catch to allow bbs to flow into the hop unit, ie if the mag moves a bit is it closing the catch and preventing feeding? Suspect your best bet though would be to try a mid cap, or possibly a Marui hi cap, and see if that sorts it?
  21. I didn't realise you were quite so local Monty, we could get a North Wales get together going at this rate lol!
  22. Cheers gents for the very thorough replies! Apologies Ian, but your reply did make me smile! So in a nutshell their customer service isn't great, could take an age to arrive and customs will fleece me (last one being predictable tbh!) Also the point re current security possibly having an impact on customs clearance is one I need to think about. I would do as you suggest and put my ukara and probably phone number on the address label. Hadn't realised the ACM BAR was made by AY, will drop AW an email and see what their intentions re stocking the Spectre are in the first instance and go from there.
  23. Right. . . . . posted a comment re all this on ww2 forum asking the OP to confirm its an airsoft gun. The guy who posted the youtube vid has done a few other airsoft vids including the new Nagant 1895 revolver which clearly shows 6mm cartridges on that, but his Webley vid doesn't show any close detail of the cartridges for it. Also the box is IDENTICAL to that in Webleys facebook page on their 4.5mm version. The guy who put the youtube link on the ww2 forum had only just joined that forum, apparently his friend in Taiwan has airsoft versions in stock so it will be interesting to see what he says!
