  1. So using the CO2 capsule option, does removing the mag vent the whole capsule? If thats the case I'm surprised they didn't fit a valve which closes to the mag. Even my ASG CZ75 has a valve that closes when the mag is removed so only a tiny amount is lost during mag changes. If so it'd run expensive if games meant frequent returns to the safe Zone, though as said not such an issue for long milsim games.
  2. Ok cheers for the comments, its good to get first hand feedback, what were the worst offending parts? I take it there is no parts commonality with WE or GHK then? End of the day I've bought one as its a cheap gun to add to my collection and don't plan on using it massively, if it dies it would be annoying obviously but not the end of the world. However any first hand knowledge on minimizing wear / damage would be good to know?
  3. It actually hits the mag follower afaik, and this has been mentioned as a potential weak point (AW review video's sample has no follower in the mag). Hopefully an aftermarket one will be made available if this is the case.
  4. As said above a more powerful battery will give you faster trigger response and rof with a given motor, so this would probably be the best way to go but fitting a mosfet would be a good idea to protect the trigger contacts from burn out. If you don't want to go LiPo maybe consider a 10.8v NiMh from Component Shop if you have space to fit one, though again a mosfet would be a good idea. In general in a given set up a high TORQUE motor will spin up faster than a normal AEG motor, with more torque (designed for pulling stronger springs) when the trigger is pulled, but they don't have as high RPM as a normal motor, so you will get fast trigger response but ROF would probably be lower than with a standard motor. A high SPEED motor will have a higher RPM than a standard motor, thus higher rof, but may only slightly improve trigger response over a standard motor as it doesn't spin up from zero to full speed as instantly as a hi torque motor. So its a matter of what you want out of the gun really.
  5. Indeed it is, thanks for the correction, was going with what AW market it as.
  6. They are also doing a kit to use TM style STANAG AEG mags when powered by external HPA which will ease the issue of having to use specific Tippmann mags, according to AA mag review.
  7. It certainly looks a VERY versatile system with the ability to swap means of powering it, rate of fire and even power settings to suit preference and site power limits (latter can be locked using a "tournament lock" available from Tippman to prevent cheating apparently). 80rd mag is due to that being what a good CO2 capsule will power before being exhausted. Really fancy one of these. According to Airsoft Action Magazine UK delivery has been postponed till the new year, not sure how up to date that review is though.
  8. May or may not help but I bought a box of metric nitrile O rings from Aldi a while back, it has about 40 different sizes and 10 - 20 of each size, cost about a fiver and has sorted many airsoft fixes such as piston head air seals, gas valve leaks and even mag base seals. Well worth it if you can get hold of one.
  9. KWA Glock 23F. Have an old plastic slide one with trades, insane rate of fire. Not long fitted a new hop rubber, never missed a beat in 9 years of use!
  10. As ^^ try ak2m4 on this forum for SHS/ZCI motors & gearsets etc, Pete is a great guy and will prob offer a forum member discount if you message him. Highly recommended. www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/gears
  11. Yeah true, I ordered a couple with the gun, I figure on using it semi auto mainly and am fairly conservative on ammo so it may be sufficient with reloading at respawn/between games, if not I will prob get a couple more when funds allow.
  12. It would be great if the mags did hold 65 rounds as the review mentions, though AW's own sales page blurb says 45 rounds somewhat confusingly!
  13. For gears have a look at ak2m4's site, he has loads of different types, hi torque, hi speed etc, be aware with all the internal mods you plan to do you will need to experiment with springs to get the right power. TM hop rubber and Madbull Black Python barrel is a good combination though.
  14. Good man, bargain of the year I reckon, plenty of videos out there on the gun, will put a review on when I've assessed it.
  15. In airsoft terms the TM 1911, reliable and very, very accurate. TM, need we say more. If TM brought out a FN35DA (AKA modern Browning Hi-Power) that might change however!
  16. Well I've ordered one to play with as been thinking about a GBBR to tinker with for a while, as well as a couple of extra mags which were also on offer. For basically Combat Machine money its a good deal, and I'm thinking the bigger 45rd plastic mags will be more useable than AR mags in a skirmish (if it gets that far!). So will see how it goes. . .
  17. Cheers for that, fair comments Ian. I had a secondhand SRC M4 years ago that was pretty good in its day and used entirely standard parts (or possibly had upgrades,I'm not sure) but it never let me down to be fair despite its poor reputation. Their recent G36 seems to be quite well thought of from posts on here. The Hop on the gbb 74 looks close to a TM AK in design but how close remains to be seen. Looked at a few videos of the gun in action (not just retailer ones, although AW's review states its the best gun SRC have made. . . hmmm) which is what clinched it for me. As to what aftermarket internals are available I've no idea, but I'll see how it performs and go from there.
  18. Well I've ordered one so will see how it goes, been thinking about a gbbr for a while to tinker with (as opposed to being a primary) so it seems a lot of gun for pretty much Combat Machine money. Any known issues to be aware of that you know of?
  19. Yeah its only if you click on the Special Offers, then Flash Sale, looked at a few videos and certainly looks and sounds great, think I might have to scratch the itch! Main concern would be the quality of the mags / valves, any idea on them?
  20. Anyone any experience of the above? Its on flash sale TODAY ONLY for £149.95 at Airsoft World and I'm mighty tempted to add to my collection. Supposedly steel receiver and real wood. 45rd mag (though review says 65) so more useable than a 30rd AR. I know SRC AEGs have a mixed reputation so input gratefully received if you have experience of this gun. Cheers!
  21. Also to show theres no bias towards AW, Zero One doing "Black Friday" 15% off EVERYTHING (they say) UNTIL SUNDAY 30/11/14 by quoting discount code BF15 at checkout.
  22. Airsoft World have a flash sale TODAY ONLY on the SRC Gas Blowback AKS74U Airsoft Rifle at £149.95!!!!! No idea what its like tbh other than full metal (stamped steel according to review) and real wood, 45rd mag, but its over £100 off!!! Blooming tempting. THIS IS FLASH SALE TODAY 28/11/14 ONLY! Won't let me link direct but go to special offers on their site and click the "flash sale" icon.

    Ukara number ??

My Ukara and site are the same number. If you want to check your registration details either Google " UKARA self check" or phone a main UK retailer such as Firesupport or Action Hobbies, give them your address and DOB and generally they will be happy to check your status (retailers set the system up after all).
