Russe11 got a reaction from Airsoft-Ed in Like scoutthedoggie?
Yup he is a bit out of touch, he stopped playing for 7 years and only started again because people were asking him to make videos about it. There are a million people out there with cameras strapped to themselves posting youtube videos. How many other's do bits to camera explaining what's going on?
He does appear to have a lot of spare cash, that could be you one day if you get as many subscribers as he has
I find him entertaining rather than informative, I really hope he never does another review after the AK one he did but the In Country ones were rather good. I never miss Mingles with Jingles, its basically him talking rubbish for 20 mins every week.

is that there are 'no limits' and we should 'reach for the sky' in our attempts to customise the perfect airsoft gun?
OK, I am going to need the following:
A shoot and Scoot Lee enfield, some wood screws, some RIS rails, an Elcan Specter DR, a laser sight, a torch, Long M203 launcher.....
...hmm what paint would I use to do a digital camo paint job on wood?

I do as it happens. I love the M1 Carbine, for it's day it was a brilliant design. The best way round that one would be to wear the correct beret with denison smock, webbing and battledress: Instant WW2 SAS loadout SAS can get away with any weapon as long as the time period is right
Oh and the name is Russell, it's just that someone had already been naughty with that name so I couldn't use it so I replaced the L's with 1's

One British youtube channel that does get a lot of views is BohemianEagle AKA the mighty Jingles.
He does mainly video game videos (world of Tanks and War Thunder) but mentioned airsoft and his subscribers persuaded him to get back into airsoft and make videos last year. Very different style of video to anything else I have seen because he usually does videos of computer games. He has had to start by going through the basics for his subscriber base.
It's all his fault I got into this, I ran out of War thunder videos one day.

Yup the Hwa San is better looking but the Goblin is smaller, lighter uses 6mm ammo, shoots 12 bb's per shell rather than 7 and is cheaper, plus it comes with a holster.
Soldiers would get shotguns from just about anywhere, farms in france, farms back home, dead resistance fighters, bought from Ian during his black marketeering days...
Pump action ones would not have been common, a sawn off double barrelled shotgun would have been easy to get hold of and easy to carry.

Just been toying with some ideas that really suit this thread. Don't think I will ever do them but with the cheap Stens at landwarrior, someone might.
So what if...
You start with an ASG Sten MKII
Now the front heatshield is removable so there are 2 options;
Remove it and clamp one of these to the barrel
Now you can add a red dot, laser, torch and a hand grip
Or just keep it on and add
A 30mm scope ring is about right for the heat shield, if it doesn't fit right then a replacement heatshield made from PVC pipe would work. Now you can add a red dot, torch, laser and an underslung weapon
The Ultimate FrankenSTEN!!!

Pattern 37 Denim Battledress
from Whatpriceglory.com (£80 ish including postage)
Also Soldier95 leather gloves (£10) and DPM basha (£15) from Britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk
I'm thinking leather gloves will suit a WW2 period loadout better than my current ones and £10 seemed a good deal.

Once I have Battledress sorted, just about any British loadout is possible. Commando's, Airbourne, regular infantry, SAS are all just minor variations of hat/helmet. With Khaki drill you can then do Desert or early far east and with Jungle greens you can do late war far east.
Another possibility would be to do a steampunk loadout and add a red dot sight held on with brass strips, build a wooden stock around the current metal one etc.
It's the performance of the gun that amazes me though. It is ridiculously accurate and has a very high rate of fire, I just recieved a 9.6V NiMH stick battery and tested it and it is truly terrifying. You just get a line of bb's from the end of the barrel to the target with very little separation, if you hit someone once, you're going to hit them with a lot of bb's in a very small area and that will hurt.
Watch this test of the shoot and scoot MP-18, its the ASG Sten with a wooden stock and different heat shield added, they got all shots within a 5cm radius at 30meters with .3 bbs

The Loadout too far is getting there. The trousers are wrong but the general impression is there now.
Each ammo pouch is capable of holding 6 Sten mags
British pattern37 webbing is actually really comfortable and at £30 for the set I'm wearing is quite good value for money.

Yeah, if you want to do it justice you'll need a P90, a MICH 2000, and a tan 6094...
Oh yeah, and a tan glock in a horizontal chest mounted serpa.

Doh! was just looking for some vintage goggles to modify to go with this build and just found a helmet that would have been much better to make into and airbourne helmet
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Goggles-Vintage-Motorcycle-Cruiser-Scooter/dp/B00GFHQM68/ref=sr_1_33?ie=UTF8&qid=1391572429&sr=8-33&keywords=vintage+goggles
Anyway, I think I shall get a set of these for £9 and test em, then see if they can be modified to be safe
I'm guessing that goggles designed to protect a motorcyclist from kicked up stones at 70mph might actually stop bb's

no Sten mags fit in the Mk3 ammo pouches which are really common. Already got them sorted, they hold 6 mags each. its the backpack that I currently have problems with. There are 2 different sizes, small and large. The small one fits to the webbing with L straps which I have. The large one fits with L straps and blanket straps (which I don't have). I ordered a pack that was cheap hoping it was the small but its the large. Now its going to cost me a massive £6.50 to get the additional straps!
