  1. @ Longshot - agreed it's a calculated risk - all depends on how you want to protect your teeth. I've never got on with gum shields (and you'd need both upper and lower) so rely on a mask - especially for CQB. It had crossed my mind to use a shemagh or some thing similar if I'm going to be just woodlands and at range.
  2. Well now it's 1 http://www.shadowstalkers.org/news-page/man-down-skirmish-mansfield Footage of the events by one of his friends who was with him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQGaIsJS0yE&feature=youtu.be Since then a friend of mine has come close - ended up with a bad bruise on the nose just by the eye from a ricochet a marshal had a similar scare the same day at the same site.
  3. You are correct, the small plug, which is for the balance part, does need plugging in. The 2S means it's recognised that your battery is 2 cell. I'll leave some one else explain what the 25c means - it's connected with how fast you can discharge the battery - there's normally two ratings, continuous and burst - the latter is normally higher. Effectively the total ampage of your battery divided by the C number is the amount of amps your motor has to take. I.e. 2600 mA battery which is 25C will put out 104 mA per burst.
  4. For those that have a Real Sword SVD, what weight in pellet do you use ? Was trying to set the hop up using blaster devil 0.30g but couldn't stop an earlier drop than I'd expect (especially as I tested it with an xCortech 3200 chrono just before with results of 445-448 fps so I know I have the power). The shot was straight and true, just felt like it was dropping early.
  5. Photography, though I'd not risk my lenses at a site unless I could get some one to make up for me a couple of 2mm lexan filters to put in a cokin frame. Also very much in to gastronomy, primarily eating, cooking and food history.
  6. I tried a set in PAS the other day when I picked up the Firesale RS SVD - I was also buying a set of Bolle X800 at the same time but wondered about a set for backup. The Rush when pushed up to the face do leave very little gap at the bottom, but I'm sure they'd slip as the sweat starts to flow. I do regret now, though, not getting a set of Platinum trackers as they do near fully seal.
  7. Bolle X800 goggles while also buying ..... A certain 'firesale' Real Sword SVD (yup that one) Shortly to be advertising my G3 as it's no longer needed as a DMR (annoyingly if a certain member of staff at said shop had not just had an expensive holiday he would have bought it off me).
  8. £699 - not sure how many will be discounted at that price (or more accurately how many they have in stock, as that might be the limiter). (I'm tempted myself)
  9. I did The Mall in February as part of a meet up for another forum. It was well marshalled, meaning it was hard for people to get away with not taking their hits (I believe two people were asked to leave in the afternoon, one of whom was given a permanent ban). The briefings were clear, well explained, but long. The games were about 20 minutes each, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon, so actual game play for the day was not the greatest. Added to this there's always a fair walk back to the safe zone, so if, like me, you're using gas guns, you struggle to refill and reload in time. The site itself is in very good condition, but there were too many choke points, meaning play became rather static - especially with the extra safety rules over grenades (can't throw above knee height, fine for timed grenades you can roll along, not particularly useful for impact ones). As a whole, despite what I've written above, I actually enjoyed the day, and would do The Mall again, but it's the sort of place I could only do one to four times a year, no more. Oh and as to food - they no longer give free lunch (they were stopped from doing it apparently) - but the price is/was not changed.

    2 tone

I believe it's 51% minimum that has to be in the brightly coloured tone.
  11. An award winning sour dough loaf from an award winning artisan bakery near me. Oh and 6 magpuls I got for £13 off ebay
  12. He has to prove you already regularly play at an insured site, not that you will be. If in doubt, you're over 18, and you will be getting a usable defence (i.e. UKARA or play enough at a regular site that they can be contacted to confirm you are an active present airsoft player), the you could get your friend to lend you the gun then you buy it off him once you're covered. As to the above - the onus is on the seller, but the law is on both the buyer and the seller.
  13. He's getting a G&G so it'll come as standard with mini-tamaya.
  14. On your budget you're probably better off looking in forums like here for second hand gear as pistols start ~£80 before two-toning. The el-cheapoes are bad economy most of the time as they don't last. Places to buy from include (not exclusively) http://www.proairsoftsupplies.co.uk/ http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/ http://www.airsoftarmoury.co.uk/ .... There's also, in Europe http://www.taiwangun.com/ not sure if you'll have any problems shipping a two-tone from them over.
  15. Also could have been detuned with a lower strength spring due to previously being hot. Note - FPS does not necessarily equate to range and accuracy.
  16. I did wonder about ebay but then I also take the assumption a good proportion of the kit on there was seems cheap is actually fake. I might miss some decent bargains, but at the same time I'm less likely to be caught out. (though not entirely safe, hence me once being contacted by the Met over a very legitimate looking deal from a very legitimate ebay trader with a very high rep - turned out he was an international fence ...)
  17. Buy/trade a gun from a friend - yes illegal Be given a gun by a friend and not give anything back - nope not illegal Use at a site - no not illegal
  18. Nope mine is working just fine - I honestly was not expecting such a kick from a recoil AEG, after all they just fake it through a number of mechanisms
  19. Willing to say where you got yours from, or was it just good sales shopping ?
  20. A friend treated himself to a KWA PTS AEG - the 'recoil' kick on that is harder than on my GHK G5 !!
  21. Got to ask - is the front plastic plate stronger than on the Chinese clones or is it just as likely to be shot out ? I've been half tempted to splash out but at the same time scared that the first time I use one I'll be after a replacement piece of plastic (as happened on my cheap ASG clone)
  22. AI's support desk were very helpful and sent me a free replacement (complete kit) from Canada - after they had accidentally sent me a couple of replacement grenade valves (Ariel at AI was not sure how that happened either).
  23. Just for future reference, ASG import in to Europe and rebrand. Who the original manufacturer is can vary and don't assume they're just from the cheap end. I know they re-brand the Lomex M4, plus many of their pistols are KWA. Also their MP9 is KWA. Mean while, do not be tempted to get a two-tone gun, they are false economy - instead use rentals till you get registered and buy your own gun - you'll also end up with a collection of amo this way too (as rental costs normally includes 3000 rounds).
  24. Hate them - really hate them. A couple used to appear at my local site until one split - in CQB it's just plain cheating as far as I'm concerned as it's hard cover with a key hole shooter behind it
