  1. My other half hates guns of any kind but appreciates that they are essentially toys, like above we go both mountain biking & she knows that Airsoft is much cheaper so she's happy me & my son have something to do together.

Although she thinks our loadouts are scary and hates to see us in them lol

    haha scary? in what way!

i like the fact you use it to spend time with your son. maybe there's another poll right there (family airsofting).

mine doesn't care, she loved yesterday but is suffering for it now! we both have our hobbies and we both respect the fact that its nice to have some space doing our own things as well.

  2. can anyone point me in the direction of a serpa holster thats in stock for a WE glock 19?

pro airsoft supplies have them listed but out of stock then with this description underneath....

This holster will fit the Glock 17/23/31 (although not Tokyo Marui 17's, as they are slightly larger than their real-steel replicas). Says BLACKHAWK!, "Featuring a unique speed-cut design, the CQC Carbon-Fiber Holster allows for smooth draw and easy re-holster without slowing you down. Speed-cut design allows rapid draw, target acquisition, and re-holster while keeping eyes on target - Includes belt loop and paddle platform."g eyes on target - Includes belt loop and paddle platform."

so does it or does it not fit the 19?!?!?!

  3. bought a retention holster that stated it would fit a glock 19... didn't... so this is my fix.

ive drilled out the rivets and put washers to make the extra space then put two bolts through o hold it in place this now works amazingly well and the retention works as it should also then just covered the gap with good old electrical tape which makes it look quite cool IMO

put some on your lenses the night before on both sides and leave it to "dry" then the next morning use a lint free cloth to get rid of all the goo and any smears...

i use this stuff religiously now and its incredible

  5. cheers for the encouragement fella.

I'm pretty thick skinned so not too bothered myself. I just thought I'd pop my opinion to this thread as yet I have very little to add to most stuff as I dont have the experience & knowledge you guys have.

I just wanted to show how it looks from an outsider looking in ;)

    If that makes any sense

my first time going i felt very "outside" everyone in their groups and what not. i quickly broke that and pretty much talked to everyone i could asking about their guns and what acronyms meant etc. then i joined here and have had numerous people help me along the way. i think the post that mentioned elitism is very true but i think you get that in any walk of life.

personally aisoft is a day just for me away from everything day to day, while i do get annoyed with cheaters from time to time (and like i say that happens in many walks of life) i usually just get on with it and let others do the same.

having youngsters going in my eyes is a good thing but when they are left to their own devices from my view some decide that's when they can either be cocky little turds and get a bit to up themselves or they take the opportunity to do what i did and learn from others around them but then that's down to the people at the site as well if you get jumped up ego warriors then the people that look up to them will inevitably become the same thing (not always true for everyone mind you)

welcome fumps hope you enjoy your first skirmish as much as i did and look forward to reading what you liked, didn't like and what you have planned after your first game :)

  6. So what's your beef, that their parents can afford to buy them £2,000 PTWs? If so, dry your eyes and move on, there's always someone with more money/better car/fitter wife.

Be happy with what you've got and plan for what you want to get, ignore those who have greater means, theirs or those they're borrowing from others.

i agree with you that there's always people in life that will have things better than you.

the majority of the time these kids that use daddy's money like the rag they keep under their bed are not even worth bothering with. like its been said they usually (not all of them mind you) use these guns as an extension of their winky doodles and seem to think having a top system makes them big man on campus.

best bet is like its been said play how you feel, learn to use what you've got and it wont bother you.

i learnt very quickly that it seems the more people spend on their guns the more time they spend worrying over that rather than the game!

  7. in fairness i think people have more responsibility to develop the players then the sport would come second... my thinking behind that is that if we dont have responsible players and people that are mature enough to be using RIF's and the like then the sport cant evolve and get bigger as it will keep being bought down due to the people that either act immaturely or put the sport into disrepute.

i might be wrong but that's how i see it

  8. The problem is I suspect that many of the players you are talking about are young people whose first introduction is via gaming.

If you are reared playing games like COD, your reality is warped.

When I was a child, many, many years ago, we would play war based on largely WW2 movies that we saw on TV.

We would run around a field or park with invisible guns making machine gun noises and if your mate didn't lay down when you shot him, you made damn sure he went down.

Now technology allows children to play with a variety of deadly weapons in gaming and kill hundreds at a time.

Is it any wonder, they take this attitude on to the Airsoft field.

Generally, Ive found young players to be pretty good but they really have no idea about fieldcraft, tactics, stealth and real life.

Why should they - they are 12 or whatever ?

They stand, talking loudly, usually next to where Im hiding and they generally enjoy themselves. The problem is when their behaviour starts to encroach on you enjoying yourself.

    The answer ?

Either try to educate them by setting examples and explaining what they are doing is wrong or play somewhere else where there are less children.

Unfortunately, the site owners need their parents cash.

Are there any adult only sites ?

shame some sites dont do an over 18s day once a month or something like that but like you say the site owners all need to get the money in.
