  1. I bought a couple MAG ones a few weeks back. The cheaper ones are plastic but if you don't mind that they feed brilliantly and are affordable. I got mine from Airsoft Supply Drop. Unfortunately didn't fit through the letterbox because of the size (so had to pick them up ont weekend) but on the plus side they were very nicely protected. Would recommend.
  2. Better safe than sorry. The one I suggested could be an older WE model too maybe, I'm not sure. (It's still a Gen 3) It depends what you're importing as well, most stuff will work out a lot cheaper but there are also a lot of items that aren't worth it considering the price / weight.
  3. I was thinking how a support weapon is supposed to be beastly and intimidating, but most of them are AEGs and don't sound so good without a good shim. I would like to see one with a recoil system. If it has a large stock (say M240?) then it could accommodate a large weight (simulate some recoil) / high capacity battery to power the system.
  4. Ah okay, enjoy Tbh it is a bit dodgy ordering from outside the UK so it's good your got it from Land Warrior. I've been looking at all these foreign sites recently just because I'm on a budget.
  5. I'm definitely buying one. Some day... (Probably in like 3 years lol) I've heard the extended follower on the ERG magazines is fragile though which is a little annoying but not a big deal. Plus the fact is doesn't disassemble normally / isn't like a normal AEG internally or something. As a very inexperienced tech this isn't ideal either but I'm going to be working on other projects and things before I buy that gun so I will be more confident with the basic maintenance I'd do on it. (No plans to upgrade the RM4 anyway) Other than that, looks like an awesome rifle. Annoyingly, the Scout is £350 over here (almost $600) but only $380 in the US. Maybe it would actually work out cheaper ordering from the US. I know Evike ship to the UK but I haven't looked to see if they stock it yet.
  6. If you don't mind ordering from Europe it's £64 or something on Gunfire.pl. Not sure about customs and stuff though.
  7. This is like another 'Let's piss off Ed' thread
  8. That's true. I have Norway / Sweden in my head...could be one of those. It's been a while. I think AirsoftGI interviewed someone at Shot Show and he said that's what's happening.
  9. I was reading about this recently actually and I think the HK416 is considered to be an M4. I haven't owned one myself so I can't tell you how similar they are internally, although the 416 does look really good (much cooler than standard M4A1) If you have the money, there is the TM Recoil Shock 416D. Tokyo Marui are widely accepted as the best airsoft gun manufacturer for both rifles and pistols. Their performance is second to none, and build quality is pretty good I think. However, this is reflected in the high price! Personally I am going to get a KWA RM4 ERG one day which is the competitor to Marui's Recoil Shock series, but around £200 or so cheaper. Again, to be honest I can't comment on magazines either. I do know that the 417 uses proprietary mags, but not sure about the 416. I'm sure you'll get some other replies soon enough that will be able to help you out a lot more. Finally, I saw Elite Force are going to release a HK416 but I don't know when it will be available or anything. Whichever gun you choose to get, I would say make sure it has plenty of good reviews and is popular. I made bad decisions with my first two guns and then found out neither are actually that good and I would have much rather bought something else. Anyway, welcome to the forums and enjoy the skirmish! By the way, the G&G Combat Machine M4s are THE BEST guns for a beginner. Literally everyone recommends them. Although it has a polymer receiver the external quality is excellent, as are the internals. It's affordable too (from £117)
  10. I've noticed this and recently the only websites I've been looking at are either eHobby Asia, RSOV, Gunfire and Taiwan Gun. (Plus a quick look on Airsoft-Club and Redwolf too) Shipping prices are expensive but more times than not the stuff still works out cheaper than from the UK. For example, box set of 8 MAG MP5 magazines. Airsoft Supply Drop ~ £60 delivered. RSOV - £45 shipped (IIRC) Tokyo Marui Glock 17 (Gen 3) - $182 or £108.40. ($39 of that is for shipping)
  11. So I was going to get a WELL MB-01 (AKA Warrior L96) including scope and bipod for ~ £110 but I've discovered a TM Real Shock VSR-10 is £154 shipped from eHobby Asia. :)

May as well get a TM VSR Pro at PAS for 170. Or better yet get one from Echigoya in Japan for 100 pounds(not incl. shipping)

Sadly Echigoya's site is down :(

I didn't know anywhere was selling it, thanks. I've got round to reading some more on it and the recoil will just knacker the cylinder and make shot consistency / accuracy worse. I could always disable it I suppose. It's either the WELL MB01 L96 or TM VSR then. Pretty obvious choice, but then again I'm not buying it yet.

Has Echigoya been down for a while?

  12. I use Blasters most of the time but recently bought a pack of King Arms 0.2s. TaiwanGun's P&J BBs are said to be only slightly worse than the King Arms and are very cheap - so if you're ordering anything else from there (£11 shipping from Poland if order is under £55 or something) I would recommend you try some out. Wouldn't recommend Bulldogs because JBBG say they're good, which will mean they aren't. I used them in my cheap shitty springers like 2 or 3 years ago but never used them again in my AEGs. I don't know....yeah they are probably fine but you could get much better ones and at around the same price.
  13. Already signed it a couple of weeks ago
  14. Thanks for posting this! Her stuff looks brilliant! Definitely will be ordering some patches or a custom hoodie from them in the future.
  15. Intended to make a bandolier type thing but never could be bothered to finish it and I didn't buy good quality materials either. Also was meaning to finish and air powered rifle thing but I never completed the stock and had to find some putty of some sort which is the only part I didn't have.
  16. Off Halo Mill later for Members Night :) free t-shirt!

Yeah, I was the guy with the proto switch EL mask and the rental g36c. Get my UKARA in about a week so only a few more visits with a rental gun then I get my own!

  17. Nice review, I've been looking at the compact version myself. (http://www.rsov.com/product.php?langId=1&currencyId=4&manufacturerId=10&prodId=18692&cateId=54) Although I am actually going to get the WE Glock 17, I really like the design of the S&W M&P.
  18. Only an 11.1V should be problem if your gun isn't upgraded but a 7.4 should be fine. Around 25C rating I believe is the optimum, 20C is a bit too low whereas 30 is quite high IIRC.
  19. Would the Well MB-02F be compatible with VSR internals? I'm guessing so because they're both based on the same rifle and the MB-03 does take VSR/BAR parts.

I will probably get a Well (Warrior) MB-01 L96 in the end, as it's the other popular rifle (don't know how to word it) I know that's pretty upgrade able and I can get a lot of the parts. Speaking of which I'd upgrade sears first to reduce wear and then move on to reinforced cylinder head etc. I had a look at upgrade guides a while back but forgot a lot of it.

You will also need a new cylinder, the WELL L96 cylinder are made of a low quality brass alloy and are crimped on-they handles have a habit of coming off with higher power springs. L96s are a good option since you have a 90* mech ready to go,all you need is new sears and piston for max reliability. Their hop up units are quite usable too-I highly reccomend ASPUk hop up arms for them. A con I can think of Is that the hop up rubbers are not very good, you can get AEG rubbers onto them with a new...

      Thanks for the help :)

      Really useful advice there mate.

I'll get the MB-01 from Gunfire (£90-£110 including scope + bipod) Then I guess around £150 for upgrades (internally)

  20. Peltor Ear Defenders and Swiss Arms BBs from Patrol Base
  21. I know :/ haha
  22. I guess so, I just assumed it could be a TM thing since CYMA make TM clones. Stupid that it doesn't have a threaded barrel but oh well.
  23. No issues as far as I know. The G&G Combat Machine M4s are great quality - both internally and externally. I'm also 99% sure that the barrel is threaded (unlike TM-spec rifles like my CYMA ) The flash hider will be able to be removed. Buy a good battery and charger. Preferably a LiPo, and re-wire to Deans.
  24. Now I want a Firehawk! Wish I bought one rather than my shirty CYMA TM-spec thing (hard to upgrade, internals not great) really like a 4" RIS too
