  1. Don't buy from any website with 'bb guns' in their name. HFC aren't a very good manufacturer either. WE are good for the price and the best companies are Tokyo Marui and KWA in my opinion. There are a lot of good airsoft websites but I would recommend Patrol Base, Zero One, airsoftworld, Pro Airsoft Supplies and Land Warrior Airsoft to name only a few. That's not to mention the websites that you can buy gear from like Flecktarn.co.uk, Military 1st, UK Tactical and Tactical Kit. I completely agree with Monty though, it's better to buy a good rifle if you're a beginner. The G&G Combat Machines are great quality beginner guns. The reviews speak for themselves! Alternatively, UMAREX guns such as the H&K UMP45 or S&T G36C and are good too. http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=5645 http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=6076 http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/Airsoft-smg/h-k-umarex-ump-45.htm#.U1gLBfldXWg http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-g36-variants/1-hk-umarex-g36c.htm#.U1gLM_ldXWg http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/Airsoft-smg/asg-BT5-A4-MP5-A4.htm#.U1gLJ_ldXWg Hope this helps, and welcome to the forums!
  2. Sweet, thanks! Will definitely consider this. I don't suppose you have compared it with any other Spectres? (e.g. G&G, WE)
  3. I really would someone to make an airsoft HAMR sight now. Given that Elcan Spectres are like £180 I'd imagine they'd cost around the same though. That's about the same as a genuine real steel Delta Point / Docter I believe. I won't spend that much on a replica optic.
  4. It definitely depends on what you get. That's great though! Will keep that in mind when I'm looking for a gas rifle. The price of magazines is the one thing that's putting me off buying a GBBR. I did notice today actually they sell the KWA Kriss Vector for just under $300 which is an absolute steal compared to the £400 ($600-ish) it costs over here!
  5. I want a lightsaber now. Can't wait for my horse mask to arrive! Anyway, I will probably be ordering these from Flecktarn tonight. Bulle UCP Dump Pouch - £5 Bulle Olive & Black Shemagh - £5.99 Olive Kombat Double Rifle Bag - £19.95
  6. Would you consider doing a review of the holster? I'd be interested to know how good it is, being an ACM clone. (Or not necessarily a review but if you could tell me what it's like that would be much appreciated)
  7. IIRC, the RM4 is $380 from eHobby Asia. That's ~ £225. However, once you add on shipping and customs / import charges you're looking at another £100. So, you're not really saving much. Like 30 quid. Personally I'll just buy mine from Land Warrior Airsoft, if they're still selling it when I want to get one. I haven't seen any other UK retailers stock it. They also do the box set of 3 magazines for £35.99, but they may be worth importing. $40 from eHobby Asia.
  8. Yeah Green Gas is propane + lubricant. Being a TM, they usually need low-powered gas AFAIK. I haven't used one myself though so don't take my word for it. Price of magazines really puts me off GBBRs!
  9. I also recommend TaiwanGun. You just need to make sure that they clearly display your UKARA number on the box. IIRC you can write it in the Business line of your order details so it's there on the label, but you may be able to add a note too or try to contact them about it before you buy something. Good thing is there are no customs / import fees to pay either. Their pellets are actually very good too and ridiculously cheap.
  10. Remember with ordering from EHA / RWA HK / RSOV etc, you're going to have to pay import charges / VAT too! I've been looking at a lot of things from those sites recently and forgot about that as well. So, it might look cheap but then you have even more to add on unfortunately
  11. DE M56. They're the only cheap tri-shot shotguns. Patrol Base stocks them for around £60 IIRC. Wouldn't recommend the one with the M1014 style adjustable stock as it is very wobbly. So either the full stock or pistol grip version. Extra pack of shells is a tenner but I remember not all of mine worked very well so make sure to break them in and lube properly which should help.
  12. I got warned I should ask my local customs office about importing guns because customs have been known to seize and destroy some stuff. I've asked before about it though and most people say you just need to make sure your UKARA number is clearly displayed on the box. Even if there are delays it's usually resolved easily enough with them. I did see it on eHobby Asia but didn't go to check the price or shipping on it. I have been on that site a lot recently and it's bloody great.
  13. Well, yeah I guess they are. Those were pretty bad examples... Still though, I wish they wouldn't hide the airsoft magazines so well.
  14. Folding stocks were not designed for CQC, they're for easier storage and vehicle crews. Using a rifle without a stock just feels wrong. I lost the screws for my MP5K PDW stock If you're using it as a secondary then fair enough I guess, but I would personally rather just put a stubby stock on. Overall length is short enough but you've got the option to use it when you need to at least. I also need to buy a riser and an optic. I was thinking it would be fine in close quarters to not use sights but it really helps if you do, it's just using full face you can't comfortably bring your weapon up on to target. It's not natural or quick at all because you have to really extend your rifle out to use the irons and it's very sh*t. I should buy one of the large half face masks that cover your ears so I can use my ESS ICE glasses instead, and I am ordering a cheap £10 MICH 2000 replica from TaiwanGun. £45 for a NEXTORCH T6L R5 Hunting Set is pretty tempting too, as a tac light would be great down at Halo Mill, but I can't afford anything yet.
  15. Anyone own / have used the Madbull Troy (Battle Ax) grip, and how does it compare to the MAGPUL MOE pistol grip?

i have one. I think there more for woodland ect really nice to rest, its nice to mix it up

  16. Funny how there are genuinely about 30 magazines on really obscure, niche stuff (even though airsoft is niche too) like...model powerboat racing...or remote controlled railways etc. I find it hard to believe there is much of a market for that stuff, and yet all the airsoft magazines are literally hidden right at the back on the bottom shelf. I know they have everything categorised and properly positioned but if they actually rotated some of their stock around (annoying as it can be when you're trying to find something) then people would pay more attention to new things rather than classical yacht owner or crochet monthly or whatever is always there yet that nobody buys. :/
  17. I bought a couple MAG ones a few weeks back. The cheaper ones are plastic but if you don't mind that they feed brilliantly and are affordable. I got mine from Airsoft Supply Drop. Unfortunately didn't fit through the letterbox because of the size (so had to pick them up ont weekend) but on the plus side they were very nicely protected. Would recommend.
  18. Better safe than sorry. The one I suggested could be an older WE model too maybe, I'm not sure. (It's still a Gen 3) It depends what you're importing as well, most stuff will work out a lot cheaper but there are also a lot of items that aren't worth it considering the price / weight.
  19. I was thinking how a support weapon is supposed to be beastly and intimidating, but most of them are AEGs and don't sound so good without a good shim. I would like to see one with a recoil system. If it has a large stock (say M240?) then it could accommodate a large weight (simulate some recoil) / high capacity battery to power the system.
  20. Ah okay, enjoy Tbh it is a bit dodgy ordering from outside the UK so it's good your got it from Land Warrior. I've been looking at all these foreign sites recently just because I'm on a budget.
  21. I'm definitely buying one. Some day... (Probably in like 3 years lol) I've heard the extended follower on the ERG magazines is fragile though which is a little annoying but not a big deal. Plus the fact is doesn't disassemble normally / isn't like a normal AEG internally or something. As a very inexperienced tech this isn't ideal either but I'm going to be working on other projects and things before I buy that gun so I will be more confident with the basic maintenance I'd do on it. (No plans to upgrade the RM4 anyway) Other than that, looks like an awesome rifle. Annoyingly, the Scout is £350 over here (almost $600) but only $380 in the US. Maybe it would actually work out cheaper ordering from the US. I know Evike ship to the UK but I haven't looked to see if they stock it yet.
  22. If you don't mind ordering from Europe it's £64 or something on Gunfire.pl. Not sure about customs and stuff though.
