  1. Maybe part of the perception is that there's SOOOOOO many different models of Glock on sale? Every "pistols" section seems littered with them...
  2. G&G did redesign their fets I believe but either way they are still just cheap basic ones. Still better off getting a gen 2 and fitting a Gate Mosfet yourself in my opinion.
  3. There's a lot of those :-( That said, I've never been one to follow the crowd. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's automatically the best. I don't have an iPhone, I've never owned an Astra or a Mondeo and when I was looking for a first motorbike I chose a slab side gsxr750 over a cbr600 (look it up). The same holds true for my airsoft choices. Despite having held and used several models of glock I just don't like them and yet there are a lot of people I've spoken with (not so much here to be honest) that just seemed to have bought a glock because "it's what you do". I have an m9 because I like full size pistols, I always look for a sidearm with a rail because I play mostly at the malls so I like to have a torch on it. That forces you down the route of a very restrictive holster choice of kydex or a safariland unless you're happy paying more for your holster than the toy gun you're putting in it. Yes, it's a "me" thing but I've never perceived being an individual to be a problem before. The world needs more people with a bit of free thinking and less sheep... ;-)
  4. Leave it. You'll be fine.
  5. Yes. Bear in mind that the spring guide will compress the spring a little more which will contribute to fps. You can easily counteract this by fitting a sorbo pad and correcting the AoE.
  6. Plus, parcel force can't charge you for a package they never delivered. Taiwangun don't use them...
  7. I do find safarilands to be quite bulky though.
  8. Been looking at one from HW but they've not responded to my enquiry yet.
  9. I use a safariland clone now, thanks though.
  10. I guess I chose my M9 with similar reasoning (apart from the safety). I have rather large hands so Glocks just don't feel right for me (I've tried a few and I have to admit that the auto on a G18 is HILARIOUSLY good fun). I was using a 1911 MEU but my fat fingers in gloves struggled to not ND due to the incredibly light trigger (beavertail grip safety so no worries there). The issue I come across most often though is that because I run my pistol with a torch attached it's hard work trying to find a decent holster that isn't "real steel" and therefore massively expensive. Not being a Glock means there's less clone accessories out there (despite the M9 being the currrent US Army sidearm). Maybe it's the age of the average airsofter coming in to play? Younger players - smaller hands?
  11. Torches - Night Evolution tactical torches on Apex_Tac on Ebay. They're clones of Surefire lights and cost less than the equivalent Emerson clones. I've got three now. I have one of the "multi-reticle reflex" sights from Amazon that cost about £12 and it's well worth the money for CQB.
  12. That's what I heard. Oh - sorry - you said "Glock"!
  13. My thoughts exactly. It's most likely due to familiarity through TV and film use I guess... (hence the "BUY JACK BAUERS PISTOL" hype surrounding the USP compact)
  14. Now this is a reply I can get on board with! These features ARE available in other guns though (granted not necessarily all of them in one gun). Is it simply a matter of convenience for most people or do people actually think Glocks look good? Genuine question by the way, not trying to be as facetious as that probably sounds As for the parts and upgrades, yes - you're right there are more available for Glocks but is that just because that's all that people buy? What started the whole airsoft Glock epidemic in the first place I wonder? Is it because they're genuinely better than everything else on the market or just because that's what the manufacturers have made? If all you sell is cheddar, it's going to be pretty easy to say "people only buy cheddar".
  15. Now I can see this as a good reason for having one - if you're doing a specific loadout then it makes sense. Seeing all the US inspired loadouts makes me wonder though why more people aren't using M9's and Sigs. Or even 1911s!
  16. That's part of the problem for me - they're just too small for me. Looking at either a Sig 226R or an HK45 next. Maybe a USP Tactical though (currently use an M9A1 which I love).
  17. Cause and effect though - there's loads of parts because loads of people buy them. And let's face it any GBB pistol is going to be pretty easy to strip because there's just not THAT much to them.
  18. I don't get it. Personally I'm not a fan for both ergonomic and aesthetic reasons (I find them too small for my bear-like hands and they just look like toys) but why does everyone else seem to love them so much? It almost feels to me as if they're the iPhone of the pistol world - everyone has to have one because it's what everyone else has! By the same token it makes it incredibly hard to buy accessories for anything that isn't an iGlock (holsters and such). I'm sure there's good reasons for buying the real weapon but do those same reasons hold true in airsoft?
  19. Metallica - from when they were still an awesome metal band.
  20. If you grab the current issue of Ai there's an interview with an actual PMC about his gear and stuff. some good pointers there as to what to get. You'll need to be quick though as the new issue is due out soon.
  21. Having seen and handled them both I'm pretty sure the ASG isn't the CYMA. It feels a lot more like the CA one to be honest. I bought the CA version so I could have the A3 non ambi fire selector.
  22. I see it here, I see it on other forums and all over the community pages on Facebook - why do people buy something or order from a particular place and THEN ask if anybody has any experience with it/them? Surely the time to ask is BEFORE you buy a lemon from a shyster not AFTER.
  23. mmmm Tyrrells crisps. Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper unless I'm very much mistaken....
