  1. Also the majority of dive shops will refill tanks with a paintball fill nipple (i.e. all of the airsoft ones we use). The other alternative is a 232 or 300 bar Scuba tank and a fill station, then be careful to only allow enough air out to fill your tank. Take the Scuba tank to a dive shop and get it refilled periodically, but depending on the 'shot tank' size you could get as many as 5-6 decent refills from it at a time. As Scarathe says, a manual pump may be your only option as home compressors just won't cut it (most only get to about 80 bar). I can show you a decent retailer on AliExpress that sells OEM unbranded versions of a well known brand if you need one fairly cheap (otherwise they're hundreds of pounds).
  2. Honestly I've played with milsim groups and when you have anything over 30 people the only way to manage them effectively is through some use of a rank structure - doesn't have to follow anything from real life, but many do because it's easy to understand. It's just impossible for everyone to have fun if it's super casual with that many people when teamwork is just such a vital part of the game. It's those communities that think the rank means something outside of a game where things get significantly OTT. This site looks like it may be one of those. Also, Enjin is terribad.
  3. OK, we've already hit the 50 minimum for £1.60 a go. I've shot off an e-mail to ask the retailer if they'd go even lower over 100. Still not heard back from any of the others I e-mailed but what with it being the weekend I suppose that's to be expected. I'll wait to hear back from them first before sending out any payment details in case the price changes. I imagine we'd be able to hit 100 pretty easily.
  4. Above looks good, but don't clean with silicone in airsoft guns - clean with isopropyl alcohol (either buy a bottle or just some disposable wipes) then swab with silicone afterwards. Otherwise you can't realistically clean the hop (because you don't want silicone-based lube anywhere near your hop rubber), and that's one of the most important areas. When only using silicone you might not notice an issue immediately, but over time it's going to build up in your barrel and will reach your hop rubber eventually - from there it's going to play hell with your accuracy and hop. If you care enough then here's why: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/28054-cleaning-with-isopropyl-alcohol-vs-silicone/ Other than that, silicone is great for basically everything. Some people say lithium grease for AEGs and I prefer things like Froglube for metal-to-metal contact but ultimately silicone (be it high or low viscosity) works in 99% of applications so just stick with that. I have found the high viscosity dropper-bottles last longer on the parts as lower viscosity spray cans, but I just use each whenever it's convenient.
  5. Make sure you prepare and cure properly (those surfaces are probably covered in lube if you've not cleaned them yourself). That stuff is currently holding my 870 together, heh.
  6. Someone told me to get there early for the crono.
  7. Na, I'll be collecting in advance like I said. I'm not spending the morning collecting money.
  8. Price is now actually £1.60. The price is £1.55 but the 5p is to cover postage.
  9. Would you mind PM-ing me with that so I can keep a record and also let people know if there are any issues and about payment details etc.?
  10. Pyro Ok guys, so we're going to attempt a bulk order on pyrotechnics to save on having to buy them there, piecemeal. The cheapest I've managed to find is Enola Gaye Mk5s at £1.60 a pop (if we buy enough). If we can commit to more than 50 between us (should be easy) then we'll get them at that price and they can be distributed at the start of Saturday. As most of you know by now, using solid state aka 'reusable metal' pyros like BFGs isn't really all that viable at the Mall due to restrictions on throwing height so cardboard is advised. Now's your chance to get them quite a bit cheaper than having to pay for them there. If you're interested in buying any quantity (however small) then let me know via PM and we can tot-up whether or not enough will be purchased for us to commit to an order. If possible, I'd like to sort it out before the end of January so we can get payments in and place the order in case they have a stock issue and we need to go elsewhere. Edit Will send out details starting the end of the weekend for anyone that wants to pay very early. Will ask that the last payments are made before the 7th February so we have plenty of time to get it delivered or to change tack if they don't have the stock we need (though I'll check this periodically). If there are any spares on the day then anyone is welcome to buy them, but ideally this won't happen.
  11. HPA has problems in winter? To OP though: If you're unsure of the details then stick with electric. Anything outside of that costs a lot of money to get up to scratch - be it spring (with perhaps the exception of springer shotguns), CO2, green gas/propane/refrigerants or HPA.
  12. TM VSR or JG BAR. VSR if you're not upgrading everything or a BAR if you are. Or anything that you like the look of really, but the VSR (and clones) perform well.
  13. Yeh, you'll want to sand it regardless - just wear a mask or cover your mouth/nose when you do.
  14. That and the only P8 out there is a CO2 Umarex one. The Marui is the better option for actually playing - their HK45 is great.
  15. Yeh, JB Weld - just their normal one. Takes about 24 hours to cure but it's very strong. Give it 48 hours if you can. Make sure you clean the surface first and rough it up a little with sandpaper or a nail file before applying it.
  16. Honestly I'm still thinking gluing is the better option here - decent epoxies hold far, far stronger than the cheapo plastics most companies use for internals so if anything it'd be an upgrade. Also, that part is obviously completely obscured by the upper so there's no way you'd see the join.
  17. That's one of the best names I've heard for the charging handle. I'll be adopting it. On a serious note: Is this the AEG or GBBR? I'd guess AEG from it being plastic, but from you snapping it I'd imagine it's possibly the GBBR as there's no point in using it except to reveal the hop otherwise. AEG - too short to be a GBBR charging handle. Should have spotted that sooner. Edit Here's the manual people: http://www.gb-tech.com.tw/downloads/Umarex_M27IAR_AEG_parts_list.pdf We're looking for part 01-11. Best bet for OP would be to directly contact VFC and order the spare through them. Failing that just buy some JB Weld and glue it. Tends to be stronger than most of the plastics they use anyway so gluing it with a decent epoxy may be a better idea than buying a new one that's just going to break again at some point.
  18. I had the same actually - one bag was pierced and one was fine.
  19. Proballs or BB King. Wouldn't risk the Nuprols with their track record. As Snakeeyes says, I think most of the heavy materials being used now are hydrophilic, so Nuprol not keeping moisture out of their bottles could be exactly why they've been jamming up people's gats. BB King also put silica in their vacuum-packed bags.
  20. This isn't a phenomenon at all though - it makes no sense. The hop, if anything, is curving the BB upwards but standing or prone wouldn't make a difference if the target is still at the same elevation. You do have to account a little for elevation if you're shooting down or up towards a target, but it's fairly negligible if your hop is set as it should be (and again, shouldn't be shooting to one side if your scope is correctly seated and perpendicular to your barrel). Maybe you just need to shoot some more so you've got more samples to make a conclusion from - this just sounds like a freak-grouping or two that you've prematurely drawn a conclusion from so I wouldn't worry about it. As mentioned, the one thing I would check is how your scope is mounted as improper alignment can send your BBs off to one side, and this would be exacerbated by the elevation of the target (again though, if the variables are the same then your grouping wouldn't be any worse, it just wouldn't be on target). Dannn provided a good video to this a while back. Here it is:
  21. Last post was 11 months ago unfortunately.
  22. Usually poop quality and can shatter or just clog your barrel up. There's also the issue of your last 10 rounds overhopping so hard that they'll go to the moon.
