  1. signed, but nothing will change. Even if a million people sign that petition there's still 59 million who haven't. The red tops and other sensationalist newspapers would tear the government to bits if they re legalised any kind of pistol (other than muzzle loaders, which are still legal!). I can see the headlines now: "Britain braced for more Dunblane style massacres" "GUN TERROR AS PISTOLS FLOOD STREETS" "Space Pakis steal corpse of Lady Diana using newly legalised pistols" (Daily Mail) As much as I'd love for .22 pistols to be decriminalised the anti-gun lobby have more numbers (just take a look at mums net... they'd ban nerf guns if they could!) and more of a sensational argument.
  2. problem with having your nametape on your shirt is that as soon as you put a chest rig or plate carrier on the tape is obscured, makes more sense to have it velcro backed so you can just stick it on to whatever load carrying equipment you're wearing, or the back of a helmet, or a sleeve pocket... you get the idea! Lots of people have various different kit for playing in different places or at different times of year, with the name tapes and patches velcro backed you can move them between kit easily, sewing them on to everything would take hours and cost a fortune in name tapes!
  3. .20 for me is CQB only, the accuracy benefits of using heavier ammo when you're outside are significant and the time to target at the extreme end of your range is actually BETTER with the heavy BB.
  4. I recently bought a couple of bags of BB Bastards, they're expensive but I did feel like I was getting better shot to shot consistency with them at the far end of my gun's range. Haven't done any kind of actual testing though so they might be exactly the same as blasters but my mind was projecting improved performance to justify the cost. Bulldogs are crap though, ditch that rubbish. Oh, and Fireball too... utter toss, only BB I've ever known to jam in a speed loader!
  5. so you can stick it to things easily. Dunno about you but I'm not sewing anything to my plate carrier!
  6. To be on the safe side though, I'd play there a few times first, the burden of proof will be on you to prove that you're using it for airsoft if by some million to one shot the police come knocking. Not only that, some site owners get narky about 2-tones that have been sprayed etc because they don't fully understand the law.
  7. absolutely superb work, considering the state they must've been in when you got them they've come out incredibly well.
  8. Jetboil scores very highly for convenience and speed, though they're a bit bulky.
  9. Oh god... I kinda need an AK, but I also have a holiday to fund at the end of the month!
  10. maybe, who knows?! I've had stuff marked as toys and with the gift box ticked get charged and I've had stuff marked up correctly get through without so much as a look from customs. anything from the far east is a gamble with customs. The end result though is that you should EXPECT to pay 20% VAT and a £13 handling charge from parcel farce, VAT is inclusive of shipping, so it'll be on the full £52. But, it'll be worked out based on the exchange rate on the day that it's received by customs, so it could end up being more than the £52 you're expecting.
  11. looks like the umarex one, the TM has different texture on the grip and the trades aren't filled in white. ***edit *** Talking about the HK45!
  12. What Sam said, I've worn the newer PCS stuff extensively in barracks, on boarding ops, land exercises, you name it. Worst thing I've had to deal with was a rank slide button getting ripped off by a heavy box as I put it down.
  13. what these guys have said, at the same price point it's likely the plastic will actually be stronger than whatever monkey metal die cast rubbish is used to make the receiver of a gun!
  14. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/martial http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/marshal 2 different words, Court Martial is correct, Court Marshal is not.
  15. Power spray is really quick, take the parts you want to strip, put them in a big Tupperware box or plastic bag, spray them liberally with powerspray, seal it up and wait 30-40 minutes then scrub like a mofo with a stuff brush. You'll probably want a pin or something to get the last bits out of the smallest gaps that the pin can't get.
  16. Hell no, CQB is all about full face... my smile isn't all that but it'd look a shitload worse with gaps!
  17. z87+ is a newer naming convention, it's for high-impact stuff (shards of metal coming off a lathe etc) and is more than enough for airsoft. Those lenses will deflect BBs without any stress at all. Be aware of any possible gaps round the edge and the top though, unlike at work where things are likely to come from the object you're looking directly at BBs can come from any direction!
  18. at this point it's all down to personal preference on style, as you can see from the ebay page a decent set of military spec goggles will protect your eyes from far worse things than BBs, pick a style you like and get them!
  19. never had a problem with ehobby, one of the more professional hong kong outfits.
  20. that'll withstand anything an airsoft gun can throw at it, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the lens on that would withstand 1000fps
  21. the flip down lenses on those Emerson FAST helmets are borderline dangerous, I wouldn't use one if you paid me to do it: A guy from Arnies Airsoft forums did a test on them, the full write up is here: http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?%2Ftopic%2F159597-helmet-pictures%2Fpage-82 My 2p on it is that if you're wearing that as protection you'd be better off with a couple of layers of cling film, at least it won't shatter when the BB comes through it. If your eyepro is ANSI z87.1 rated then it'll withstand birdshot from a shotgun, airsoft won't even leave a mark on the lenses.
  22. boogie regulators will steam up the second you stand still, they're not really designed for airsoft, more parachuting, driving offroad, etc etc. £17 for a decent set of specs is a decent price.
