  1. Take one for the team, as it were. Nice one. Let us know, please.
  2. TBH, once you've got your gear stuffed in there, a gun wouldn't bang around anyway. Just lie the bergen down flat to put the gun in, then stuff the vest in, and you'd be able to stand it upright.
  3. You lads who have been in, does a British Army long bergen have 1 compartment all the way up it? That would fit an 89cm gun no problem. Not as cheap as the 45L, but still should be able to get one for £40-ish. You could probably cut the stitching if they are divided into two compartments... Surplus gear would always be my first choice. Even if it's Grade 2 it'll still take more abuse than you/me.
  4. I've got 6mm Kanzen in my ICS AKS-74U - they are sweet. So sweet in fact I got some more for my Vz61 Skorpion but haven't fitted them yet.
  5. To be honest, you rarely get hit for tax on parts, which come from HK or mainland China - for me the average is about 6/7 packages get through, without being touched by UK Customs. That may vary, if you are somewhere else, of course. My guess is that, the volume of parcels coming from the far east, is so large, that they just do not have the manpower, to deal with them all. I have used extra punctuation, to divide ideas up, so that Google Translate will work better. Edit: but you almost always, get charged tax, on guns. You could retrofit the RIS gas tube, to another AK...
  6. ...really Bear? It looks fucking horrendous and it actually tastes it too? Well why so fucking pleased with yourself then?
  7. I didn't realise you like woodwork - those RIS gas tubes are not very expensive. Have a look on ehobbyasia.com.
  8. I swear, 3hrs with Mr. Grylls in a survival situation, I'd have to kill meself or him. No Bear, Idon't want to make the best of it... I'm English, I'm not doing anything before I've had a massive whinge (and so are you, you fucking weirdo!) and then, whatever I do, it will be accompanied by copious amounts of further whinging.
  9. I mean... he's just so fucking cheerful!
  10. Top tip: use a piece of the original wiring loom as the command wire - the insulation on them tends to be very hardwearing. Any old poxy wire will do, but I've cooked 2 due to shorts and it's not like i'm clueless.
  11. I'm the same - I really want "Fuck Off" on the slide of one of my USP's in the font H&K use for their trademark, but I know if i start, it will be Zenit all over my tac AK, "put it down you thieving bastard" on my Thunder B nades, КГБ on some of my AK mags and/or my Makarov... and that's off the top of my head!
  12. I've put Kanzen steel bearings in 3 gearboxes so far and had no failures. They are quieter than the bushings they replaced. The strongest spring I've used them with is a CYMA stock spring though, so about M125, so maybe they would fail with more pressure on them. TBH I doubt it though.
  13. One of our members can laser etch trades etc onto stuff for you and cheaper than you'd expect. Trouble is, i can't remember whom it is He's a regular though, so I'm sure someone can chime in and let you know if the man himself doesn't happen along...
  14. Plug'n'play MOSFET's are almost a waste of time. The whole point is to avoid the high resistance of the trigger switch - the command wire approach, where a command voltage opens the electronic switch instantly, allowing power to run directly from battery to motor along fat wire through soldered connections is the way forward. Of course it requires a little more work to fit and, if you compromise the insulation, you may short out the FET and cook it dead, but the results are worth it, and you've got the skills needed. Gate Electronics Pico AB are good and the non active breaking Pico also (SSR iirc). I recommend AB because if you do decide that 11.1V is the way forward eventually, that voltage can make guns fire full-auto even though semi is selected; active breaking prevents this fault. It also makes the gb end its cycle with the spring in its most extended position, which is good for the longevity of the spring and the gb in general.
  15. for those following my attempts to return to skirmish fit - back in the gym today 1hr10mins start & end on cardio 147BPM heart rate average plus crunches / legs x4 execises / pecs / shoulder press / chest press - felt like training on an injury but hey ho that's what 2 days off does i spose

  16. They will get some in stock again soon. There have probably been a few hundred lurkers reading this thread and thinking, "Hmmm, CM.048A... didn't know they did a tactical AK-74, just the wood version and the AKM version... must have one now!" airsoftcentre.eu - i have never used them before, so i cannot recommend them, but they have the gun you want. Edit: they have literally just gone out of stock! I went back to check the shipping price and now they've sold out
  17. You know what is a real bummer? They were in stock at the start of this conversation

  19. Overkill is part and parcel of the sport, I'm afraid. When you've got used to people blatantly not taking their hits, you'll know why Also, as you know, when you fire full-auto, there could easily be 10 BB's already in flight when you release the trigger in response to someone raising their hand and shouting "hit!" I always think it's worth swearing vociferously if people shoot you when your hand is up and you're walking away. It may not be the most gentlemanly behaviour but it makes me feel better and there's a chance that it gets through the adrenalin haze better than a marshal in the safe zone calmly explaining that nobody likes being shot when they've given up. This is the MOSFET i mentioned - well worth the money.
  20. Oh, and the top cover is solid - it does not rattle.
  21. Not when aiming, no. You have to push the scope to make it move. This is the type of mount i am talking about: ...the rail which comes attached to the side of the receiver, which this kind of mount attaches to, is not 100% solid. But, in use, it is not a problem. It does not move unless you press it. When you press it, it moves a little, but it springs back, so you do not lose the sight's zero.
  22. Not really, I just draw the line at getting confused between my guns and my kitchen equipment...
